In 1987 he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in philosophy and theology at the Holy Spirit University, Kaslik- Lebanon and in 1992 he obtained his PHD in Eastern Ecclesiastical Studies at the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome (PIO). |

| Biography |
Born in Chekka - Lebanon on 14 July 1962 in a Lebanese family. Parents: Antoine and Denise (born Gerges) Soueif. Brother and Sisters: Raymond, Marie-Jeanne and Sylvie. Youssef Soueif has both the Lebanese and the Cypriot nationality. He was ordained priest on 5th September 1987 and on 6th December 2008 Archbishop of the Maronites of Cyprus, on 28 October 2020 he was elected by the Synod, Maronite Archbishop of Tripoli - Lebanon. وُلِدَ في شكّا – قضاء البترون في 41 تموز 4691 من عائلة لبنانيّة وبجذور أرجانتينيّة. والده أنطوان، والدته دنيز جرجس، شقيقه ريمون وشقيقاته ماري جان وسيلفي. يملك الجنسيّتين اللبنانيّة والقبرصيّة. في 5 أيلول 7891 سيم كاهنًا في شكّا على يدّ المثلث الرحمة المطران أنطون جبير. وفي 6 كانون الأوّل 8009 سيم رئيس أساقفة أبرشيّة قبرص المارونيّة. |
