Lecture Arabic	1 ولَمَّا تَقَرَّرَ أَنْ نُبْحِرَ إِلى إِيطَالِيَا، أُسْلِمَ بُولُسُ وأَسْرَى آخَرُونَ إِلى قَائِدِ مِئَة، اسْمُهُ يُوليُوس، مِنْ فِرْقَةِ أَغُسْطُس. 2 وَرَكِبْنَا سَفِينَةً مِنْ أَدْرَمِيتَ مُتَّجِهَةً إِلى شَوَاطِئِ آسِيَا، وأَقْلَعْنَا. وكَانَ يَصْحَبُنَا أَرِسْطَرْخُس، وهُوَ مَقْدُونِيٌّ مِنْ تَسَالُونِيكِي. 3 وفي اليَومِ التَّالي، نَزَلْنَا في صَيْدَا. وكَانَ يُولِيُوسُ يُعَامِلُ بُولُسَ مُعَامَلَةً إِنْسَانِيَّة، فأَذِنَ لَهُ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ إِلى أَصْدِقَائِهِ فيَحْظَى بِعِنَايَتِهِم. 4 وأَقْلَعْنَا مِنْ مينَاءِ صَيْدَا، وَسِرْنَا مِنْ خَلْفِ جَزيرَةِ قُبْرُسَ شَمَالاً، لأَنَّ الرِّيَاحَ كَانَتْ مُخَالِفَةً لَنَا. 8 وَسِرْنَا بِجَهْدٍ جَهِيدٍ بِمُحَاذَاةِ كِرِيتَ جَنُوبًا، فَوَصَلْنَا إِلى مَكَانٍ يُدْعَى "الـمَوَانِئَ الـجَمِيلَة"، عَلى مَقْرُبَةٍ مِنْ مَدينَةِ لاسِيَّة. 14 وبَعْدَ وَقْتٍ قَليلٍ هَبَّتْ عَلى كِرِيتَ رِيحٌ عَاصِفَةٌ شَمَالِيَّةٌ شَرْقِيَّة، تُدْعَى أُورَاكْلِيُون. 15 فَانْدَفَعَتِ السَّفينَةُ لا تَقْوَى عَلى مُقَاوَمَةِ الرِّيح. وتَرَكْنَاهَا تَسِيرُ بِنَا عَلى غَيْرِ هُدَى. 18 وفي الغَدِ اشْتَــدَّتْ عَلَيْنَا العَاصِفَة، فَأَخَذُوا يُلْقُونَ الـحُمُولَـةَ في البَحْر. 19 وفي اليَوْمِ الثَّالِث، رَمَــى البَحَّارَةُ في البَحْـرِ عِدَّةَ السَّفِينَة. 22 والآنَ أَنَا أُنَاشِدُكُم أَنْ تَتَشَجَّعُوا، فَلَنْ تَكُونَ خِسَارَةُ نَفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْكُم، بَلْ خِسَارَةُ السَّفينَةِ وَحْدَهَا. 23 فقَدْ وقَفَ بي في هـذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ مَلاكٌ مِنْ عِنْدِ الله، الَّذِي أَنَا لَهُ، وَإِيَّاهُ أَعْبـُـد، 24 وقَالَ لي: لا تَخَفْ ، يَا بُولُس، يَنْبَغي لَـكَ أَنْ تَقِـفَ أَمَامَ قَيْصَر. وهَا هُوَ اللهُ قَـدْ وَهَبَ لَكَ حَيَاةَ جَميعِ الـمُسَافِرِينَ مَعَكَ. 25 لِذ,لِكَ تَشَجَّعُوا، أَيُّهَا الرِّجَـال، لأَنِّــي أُؤْمِنُ بِالله، وسَتَجْـرِي الأُمُورُ كَمَـا قِيلَ لِي. 26 إِنَّمَا عَلَيْنَا أَنْ نَجْنَحَ بِالسَّفينَةِ إِلى إِحْدَى الـجُـزُر".
Evangile Arabic	54 وَقَالَ أَيْضًا لِلْجُمُوع: "مَتَى رَأَيْتُم سَحَابَةً تَطْلُعُ مِنَ الـمَغْرِب، تَقُولُونَ في الـحَال: أَلـمَطَرُ آتٍ! فَيَكُونُ كَذـلِكَ. 55 وَعِنْدَمَا تَهُبُّ رِيحُ الـجَنُوب، تَقُولُون: سَيَكُونُ الطَّقْسُ حَارًّا! ويَكُونُ كَذـلِكَ. 56 أَيُّهَا الـمُرَاؤُون، تَعْرِفُونَ أَنْ تُمَيِّزُوا وَجْهَ الأَرْضِ وَالسَّمَاء، أَمَّا هـذا الزَّمَانُ فَكَيْفَ لا تُمَيِّزُونَهُ؟ 57 وَلِمَاذا لا تَحْكُمُونَ بِالـحَقِّ مِنْ تِلْقَاءِ أَنْفُسِكُم؟ 58 حِينَ تَذْهَبُ مَعَ خَصْمِكَ إِلى الـحَاكِم، إِجْتَهِدْ في الطَّرِيقِ أَنْ تُنْهِيَ أَمْرَكَ مَعَهُ، لِئَلاَّ يَجُرَّكَ إِلى القَاضِي، وَيُسَلِّمَكَ القَاضِي إِلى السَّجَّان، وَالسَّجَّانُ يَطْرَحُكَ في السِّجْن. 59 أَقُولُ لَكَ: لَنْ تَخْرُجَ مِنْ هُنَاك، حَتَّى تُؤَدِّيَ آخِرَ فَلْس".

Lecture French	01 Quand notre embarquement pour l’Italie a été décidé, on a confié Paul et quelques autres prisonniers à un centurion nommé Julius, de la cohorte Augusta. 02 Montés à bord d’un bateau d’Adramyttium sur le point d’appareiller pour les côtes de la province d’Asie, nous avons gagné le large, ayant avec nous Aristarque, un Macédonien de Thessalonique. 03 Le lendemain, nous avons abordé à Sidon ; et Julius, qui traitait Paul avec humanité, lui a permis d’aller voir ses amis et de bénéficier de leur sollicitude. 04 De là, nous avons repris la mer et longé Chypre pour nous abriter des vents contraires. 08 que nous avons doublé avec peine, et nous sommes arrivés à un endroit appelé « Bons Ports », 14 Mais presque aussitôt, venant des hauteurs de l’île, s’est déchaîné le vent d’ouragan qu’on appelle euraquilon. 15 Le bateau a été emporté, sans pouvoir tenir contre le vent : nous sommes donc partis à la dérive. 18 Le lendemain, comme la tempête nous secouait avec violence, on a jeté le superflu par-dessus bord. 19 Le troisième jour, les matelots ont lancé, de leurs propres mains, le gréement du bateau à la mer. 20 Depuis bien des jours, ni le soleil ni les étoiles ne se montraient et une tempête d’une violence peu commune continuait à sévir : désormais, tout espoir d’être sauvés nous était enlevé. 21 Les gens n’avaient plus rien mangé depuis longtemps. 22 Mais maintenant, je vous exhorte à garder confiance, car aucun de vous n’y laissera la vie, seul le bateau sera perdu. 23 Cette nuit, en effet, s’est présenté à moi un ange du Dieu à qui j’appartiens et à qui je rends un culte. 24 Il m’a dit : “Sois sans crainte, Paul, il faut que tu te présentes devant l’empereur, et voici que, pour toi, Dieu fait grâce à tous ceux qui sont sur le bateau avec toi.” 25 Alors, gardez confiance, mes amis ! J’ai foi en Dieu : il en sera comme il m’a été dit. 26 Nous devons échouer sur une île. »
Evangile French	54 S’adressant aussi aux foules, Jésus disait : « Quand vous voyez un nuage monter au couchant, vous dites aussitôt qu’il va pleuvoir, et c’est ce qui arrive. 55 Et quand vous voyez souffler le vent du sud, vous dites qu’il fera une chaleur torride, et cela arrive. 56 Hypocrites ! Vous savez interpréter l’aspect de la terre et du ciel ; mais ce moment-ci, pourquoi ne savez-vous pas l’interpréter ? 57 Et pourquoi aussi ne jugez-vous pas par vous-mêmes ce qui est juste ? 58 Ainsi, quand tu vas avec ton adversaire devant le magistrat, pendant que tu es en chemin mets tout en œuvre pour t’arranger avec lui, afin d’éviter qu’il ne te traîne devant le juge, que le juge ne te livre à l’huissier, et que l’huissier ne te jette en prison. 59 Je te le dis : tu n’en sortiras pas avant d’avoir payé jusqu’au dernier centime. »

Lecture English	1 * When it was decided that we should sail to Italy, they handed Paul and some other prisoners over to a centurion named Julius of the Cohort Augusta.* 2 We went on board a ship from Adramyttium bound for ports in the province of Asia and set sail. Aristarchus, a Macedonian from Thessalonica, was with us.a 3 On the following day we put in at Sidon where Julius was kind enough to allow Paul to visit his friends who took care of him. 4 From there we put out to sea and sailed around the sheltered side of Cyprus because of the headwinds, 14 Before long an offshore wind of hurricane force called a “Northeaster” struck. 15 Since the ship was caught up in it and could not head into the wind we gave way and let ourselves be driven. 18 We were being pounded by the storm so violently that the next day they jettisoned some cargo, 19 and on the third day with their own hands they threw even the ship’s tackle overboard. 20 Neither the sun nor the stars were visible for many days, and no small storm raged. Finally, all hope of our surviving was taken away. 21 When many would no longer eat, Paul stood among them and said, “Men, you should have taken my advice and not have set sail from Crete and you would have avoided this disastrous loss. 22 I urge you now to keep up your courage; not one of you will be lost, only the ship. 23 For last night an angel of the God to whom (I) belong and whom I serve stood by me 24 and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You are destined to stand before Caesar; and behold, for your sake, God has granted safety to all who are sailing with you.’c 25 Therefore, keep up your courage, men; I trust in God that it will turn out as I have been told. 26 We are destined to run aground on some island.”
Evangile English	54 He also said to the crowds, “When you see [a] cloud rising in the west you say immediately that it is going to rain—and so it does; 55 and when you notice that the wind is blowing from the south you say that it is going to be hot—and so it is. 56 You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky; why do you not know how to interpret the present time? Settlement with an Opponent.z 57 “Why do you not judge for yourselves what is right? 58 If you are to go with your opponent before a magistrate, make an effort to settle the matter on the way; otherwise your opponent will turn you over to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the constable, and the constable throw you into prison. 59 I say to you, you will not be released until you have paid the last penny.”*
