Lecture Arabic	32 ومَاذَا أَقُولُ بَعْد؟ فَإِنَّ الوَقْتَ يَضِيقُ بِي وأَنَا أُخْبِرُ عَن جِدْعُونَ وبَارَاقَ وشَمشُونَ ويَفْتَاحَ ودَاودَ وصَمُوئِيلَ والأَنْبِياء، 33 الَّذِينَ بالإِيْمَانِ قَهَرُوا الـمَمَالِك، وعَمِلُوا البِرّ، ونَالُوا الوُعُود، وسَدُّوا أَفْوَاهَ الأُسُود، 34 وأَخْمَدُوا قُوَّةَ النَّار، ونَجَوا مِن حَدِّ السَّيْف، ونَالُوا مِنَ الضُّعْفِ قُوَّة، وصَارُوا أَشِدَّاءَ في القِتَال، وهَزَمُوا عَسَاكِرَ الغُرَبَاء، 35 واسْتَرَدَّتْ نِسَاءٌ أَمْواتَهُنَّ بِالقِيَامَة. وآخَرُونَ عُذِّبُوا بِتَوتِيرِ الأَعْضَاءِ والضَّرْب، ورَفَضُوا النَّجَاة، لِكَي يَحْصَلُوا على قِيَامَةٍ أَفْضَل. 36 وآخَرُونَ ذاقُوا الـهُزْءَ والـجَلْد، وأَيْضًا القُيُودَ والسِّجْن. 37 ورُجِمُوا، ونُشِرُوا، ومَاتُوا بِحَدِّ السَّيْف، وهَامُوا على وُجُوهِهِم لابِسِينَ جُلُودَ الغَنَمِ والـمَاعِز، وهُم مُحْتَاجُونَ ومُضَايَقُونَ ومُذَلَّلُون، 38 تَائِهُونَ في البَرارِي والـجِبَالِ والـمَغَاوِرِ وشُقُوقِ الأَرْض، هُمُ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يَكُنِ العَالَمُ مُسْتَحِقًّا لَهُم. 39 فأُولـئِكَ جَمِيعُهُم، وقَد شُهِدَ لَهُم بِالإِيْمَان، لَمْ يَنَالُوا الوَعْد؛ 40 لأَنَّ اللهَ سَبَقَ فأَعَدَّ لنَا مَا هُوَ أَفْضَل، لِئَلاَّ يُجْعَلُوا كَامِلِينَ بِدُونِنَا!
Evangile Arabic	48 مَنْ يَرْذُلُنِي، ولا يَقْبَلُ أَقْوَالِي، فَلَهُ دَيَّانُهُ: أَلْكَلِمَةُ الَّتِي قُلْتُهَا هِيَ تَدِينُهُ في اليَوْمِ الأَخير؛ 49 لأَنِّي مَا تَكَلَّمْتُ مِنْ تِلْقَاءِ نَفْسِي، بَلِ الآبُ الَّذي أَرْسَلَنِي هُوَ أَوْصَانِي بِمَا أَقُولُ وَبِمَا أَتَكَلَّم. 50 وأَنَا أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ وَصِيَّتَهُ حَيَاةٌ أَبَدِيَّة. ومَا أَتَكَلَّمُ بِهِ، فَكَمَا قَالَ لِيَ الآبُ، هـكَذَا أَنَا أَتَكَلَّم".

Lecture French	32 Que dire encore ? Le temps me manquerait pour rappeler l’histoire de Gédéon, Barak, Samson, Jephté, David, Samuel et les prophètes. 33 Par leur foi, ils ont conquis des royaumes, pratiqué la justice, obtenu la réalisation de certaines promesses. Ils ont fermé la gueule des lions, 34 éteint la flamme des brasiers, échappé au tranchant de l’épée, retrouvé leurs forces après la maladie, montré du courage à la guerre, mis en fuite des armées étrangères. 35 Des femmes dont les enfants étaient morts les ont retrouvés ressuscités. Mais certains autres ont été torturés et n’ont pas accepté la libération qui leur était proposée, car ils voulaient obtenir une meilleure résurrection. 36 D’autres ont subi l’épreuve des moqueries et des coups de fouet, des chaînes et de la prison. 37 Ils furent lapidés, sciés en deux, massacrés à coups d’épée. Ils allèrent çà et là, vêtus de peaux de moutons ou de toisons de chèvres, manquant de tout, harcelés et maltraités 38 – mais en fait, c’est le monde qui n’était pas digne d’eux ! Ils menaient une vie errante dans les déserts et les montagnes, dans les grottes et les cavernes de la terre. 39 Et, bien que, par leur foi, ils aient tous reçu le témoignage de Dieu, ils n’ont pas obtenu la réalisation de la promesse. 40 En effet, pour nous Dieu avait prévu mieux encore, et il ne voulait pas les mener sans nous à la perfection.
Evangile French	48 Celui qui me rejette et n’accueille pas mes paroles aura, pour le juger, la parole que j’ai prononcée : c’est elle qui le jugera au dernier jour. 49 Car ce n’est pas de ma propre initiative que j’ai parlé : le Père lui-même, qui m’a envoyé, m’a donné son commandement sur ce que je dois dire et déclarer ; 50 et je sais que son commandement est vie éternelle. Donc, ce que je déclare, je le déclare comme le Père me l’a dit. »

I have not time to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets,a 33 who by faith conquered kingdoms, did what was righteous, obtained the promises; they closed the mouths of lions,b 34 put out raging fires, escaped the devouring sword; out of weakness they were made powerful, became strong in battle, and turned back foreign invaders.c 35 Women received back their dead through resurrection. Some were tortured and would not accept deliverance, in order to obtain a better resurrection.d 36 Others endured mockery, scourging, even chains and imprisonment.e 37 They were stoned, sawed in two, put to death at sword’s point; they went about in skins of sheep or goats, needy, afflicted, tormented.f 38 The world was not worthy of them. They wandered about in deserts and on mountains, in caves and in crevices in the earth.g 39 Yet all these, though approved because of their faith, did not receive what had been promised. 40 God had foreseen something better for us, so that without us they should not be made perfect.*
Evangile English	48 Whoever rejects me and does not accept my words has something to judge him: the word that I spoke, it will condemn him on the last day,n 49 because I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and speak.o 50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. So what I say, I say as the Father told me.”
