Lecture Arabic	18 بِمَا أَنَّ كَثِيرِينَ يَفْتَخِرُونَ افْتِخَارًا بَشَرِيًّا، فأَنا أَيْضًا سَأَفْتَخِر! 22 أَهُم عِبْرَانِيُّون؟ أَنا أَيْضًا عِبْرَانِيّ! أَهُم إِسْرَائِيلِيُّون؟ أَنا أَيْضًا إِسْرَائِيليّ! أَهُم نَسْلُ إِبْرَاهِيم؟ أَنا أَيْضًا نَسْلُ إِبْرَاهِيم! 23 أَهُم خُدَّامٌ لِلمَسِيح؟ أَقُولُ كَمَنْ فَقَدَ صَوَابَهُ: أَنا أَكْثَر! في الأَتْعَابِ أَكْثَر! في السُّجُونِ أَكْثَر! في الضَّرَبَاتِ أَكْثَرُ جِدًّا! في أَخْطَارِ الـمَوْتِ أَكْثَرُ بِمَرَّاتٍ كَثِيرَة! 24 تَلَقَّيْتُ الـجَلْدَ مِنَ اليَهُودِ خَمْسَ مَرَّات، كُلَّ مَرَّةٍ أَرْبَعِينَ جَلْدَةً إِلاَّ وَاحِدَة! 25 ضُرِبْتُ بِالعِصِيِّ ثَلاثَ مَرَّات! رُجِمْتُ مَرَّةً وَاحِدَة! انْكَسَرَتْ بِيَ السَّفينَةُ ثَلاثَ مَرَّات! قَضَيْتُ في عُرْضِ البَحْرِ لَيْلَةً ونَهَارًا! 26 قُمْتُ بِأَسْفَارٍ كَثِيرَة، كُنْتُ في أَخْطَارٍ مِنَ الأَنْهَار، أَخْطَارٍ مِنَ اللُّصُوص، أَخْطَارٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي، أَخْطَارٍ مِنَ الأُمَم، أَخْطَارٍ في الـمَدِينَة، أَخْطَارٍ في الصَّحْرَاء، أَخْطَارٍ في البَحْر، أَخْطَارٍ بَيْنَ الإِخْوَةِ الكَذَبَة! 27 عَانَيْتُ التَّعَبَ، والكَدَّ، والسَّهَرَ مَرَّاتٍ كَثِيرَة، والـجُوعَ، والعَطَشَ، والصَّوْمَ مَرَّاتٍ كَثِيرَة، والبَرْدَ، والعُرْيَ! 28 أَضِفْ إِلى ذـلِكَ، مَا عَلَيَّ مِنَ الأَعْبَاءِ كُلَّ يَوْم، والاهْتِمَامَ بِجَميعِ الكَنَائِس! 29 مَنْ يَضْعُفُ ولا أَضْعُفُ أَنا؟ ومَنْ يَقَعُ في الـخَطِيئَةِ ولا أَحْتَرِقُ أَنا؟ 30 وإِنْ كَانَ لا بُدَّ مِنَ الافْتِخَار، فأَنا أَفْتَخِرُ بِأَوهَاني!
Evangile Arabic	31 أَلآتِي مِنْ فَوْقُ هُوَ فَوقَ الـجَمِيع. مَنْ كَانَ مِنَ الأَرْضِ أَرْضِيٌّ هُوَ، ولُغَةَ الأَرْضِ يَتَكَلَّم. أَلآتي مِنَ السَّمَاءِ هُوَ فَوْقَ الـجَمِيع، 32 وهُوَ يَشْهَدُ بِمَا رَأَى وسَمِعَ، ولا أَحَدَ يَقْبَلُ شَهَادَتَهُ. 33 مَنْ قَبِلَ شَهَادَتَهُ فَقَدْ خَتَمَ عَلى أَنَّ اللهَ صَادِق. 34 فَمَنْ أَرْسَلَهُ اللهُ يَنْطِقُ بِكَلامِ الله، وهوَ يُعْطي الرُّوحَ بِغَيْرِ حِسَاب. 35 أَلآبُ يُحِبُّ الابْنَ وقَدْ جَعَلَ في يَدِهِ كُلَّ شَيء. 36 مَنْ يُؤْمِنُ بِالابْنِ يَنَالُ حَيَاةً أَبَدِيَّة، ومَنْ لا يُطِيعُ الابْنَ لَنْ يَرَى حَيَاةً، بَلْ غَضَبُ اللهِ يَسْتَقِرُّ عَلَيْه.

Lecture French	18 Tant d’autres se vantent à la manière humaine ; eh bien, je vais, moi aussi, me vanter. 22 Ils sont Hébreux ? Moi aussi. Ils sont Israélites ? Moi aussi. Ils sont de la descendance d’Abraham ? Moi aussi. 23 Ils sont ministres du Christ ? Eh bien – je vais dire une folie – moi, je le suis davantage : dans les fatigues, bien plus ; dans les prisons, bien plus ; sous les coups, largement plus ; en danger de mort, très souvent. 24 Cinq fois, j’ai reçu des Juifs les trente-neuf coups de fouet ; 25 trois fois, j’ai subi la bastonnade ; une fois, j’ai été lapidé ; trois fois, j’ai fait naufrage et je suis resté vingt-quatre heures perdu en pleine mer. 26 Souvent à pied sur les routes, avec les dangers des fleuves, les dangers des bandits, les dangers venant de mes frères de race, les dangers venant des païens, les dangers de la ville, les dangers du désert, les dangers de la mer, les dangers des faux frères. 27 J’ai connu la fatigue et la peine, souvent le manque de sommeil la faim et la soif, souvent le manque de nourriture, le froid et le manque de vêtements, 28 sans compter tout le reste : ma préoccupation quotidienne, le souci de toutes les Églises. 29 « Qui donc faiblit, sans que je partage sa faiblesse ? Qui vient à tomber, sans que cela me brûle ? » 30 S’il faut se vanter, je me vanterai de ce qui fait ma faiblesse.
Evangile French	31 Celui qui vient d’en haut est au-dessus de tous. Celui qui est de la terre est terrestre, et il parle de façon terrestre. Celui qui vient du ciel est au-dessus de tous, 32 il témoigne de ce qu’il a vu et entendu, et personne ne reçoit son témoignage. 33 Mais celui qui reçoit son témoignage certifie par là que Dieu est vrai. 34 En effet, celui que Dieu a envoyé dit les paroles de Dieu, car Dieu lui donne l’Esprit sans mesure. 35 Le Père aime le Fils et il a tout remis dans sa main. 36 Celui qui croit au Fils a la vie éternelle ; celui qui refuse de croire le Fils ne verra pas la vie, mais la colère de Dieu demeure sur lui. »

Lecture English	18 Since many boast according to the flesh, I too will boast. 22 * Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they descendants of Abraham? So am I.k 23 * Are they ministers of Christ? (I am talking like an insane person.)l I am still more,* with far greater labors, far more imprisonments, far worse beatings, and numerous brushes with death. 24 Five times at the hands of the Jews I received forty lashes minus one.m 25 Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I passed a night and a day on the deep;n 26 on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my own race, dangers from Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, dangers among false brothers; 27 in toil and hardship, through many sleepless nights, through hunger and thirst, through frequent fastings, through cold and exposure.o 28 And apart from these things, there is the daily pressure upon me of my anxiety for all the churches. 29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is led to sin, and I am not indignant?p Paul’s Boast: His Weakness.* 30 If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.
Evangile English	31 The one who comes from above is above all. The one who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of earthly things. But the one who comes from heaven [is above all].x 32 He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony.y 33 Whoever does accept his testimony certifies that God is trustworthy.z 34 For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God. He does not ration his gift* of the Spirit. 35 The Father loves the Son and has given everything over to him.a 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him.b
