Lecture Arabic	12 فَنَحْنُ لا نَجْرُؤُ أَنْ نُسَاوِيَ أَنْفُسَنا بِقَومٍ يَشْهَدُونَ لأَنْفُسِهِم، أَو نُقَارِنَ بَيْنَنا وبَيْنَهُم، لأَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَقِيسُونَ أَنْفُسَهُم بِأَنْفُسِهِم، ويُقَارِنُونَ أَنْفُسَهُم بِأَنْفُسِهِم، لا يَفْهَمُون! 13 أَمَّا نَحْنُ فَلا نَفْتَخِرُ فَوْقَ القِيَاس، بَلْ بِقِيَاسِ الـحُدُودِ الَّتي رَسَمَهَا اللهُ لَنَا، وقَدْ بَلَغَتْ بِنا إِلَيْكُم. 14 فَنَحْنُ لا نَتَعَدَّى حُدُودَنا، كَأَنَّنا لَمْ نَبْلُغْ إِلَيْكُم، بَلْ كُنَّا أَوَّلَ مَنْ وَصَلَ إِلَيْكُم بِإِنْجِيلِ الـمَسيح. 15 إِنَّنا لا نَفْتَخِرُ فَوقَ القِيَاسِ عَلى حِسَابِ أَتْعَابِ غَيْرِنَا، بَلْ نَرجُو، عِنْدما يَنْمُو إِيْمَانُكُم، أَنْ نَزْدَادَ قَدْرًا في أَعْيُنِكُم، ضِمْنَ حُدُودِ عَمَلِنا، 16 لِكَي نَحْمِلَ البِشَارَةَ إِلى أَبْعَدَ مِنْ عِنْدِكُم، ولا نَفْتَخِرَ بِمَا أَنْجَزَهُ غَيرُنا ضِمْنَ حُدُودِ عَمَلِهِ. 17 "وَمَنْ يَفْتَخِرْ فَلْيَفْتَخِرْ بِالرَّبّ!". 18 فَلَيْسَ مَنْ يَشْهَدُ لِنَفْسِهِ هوَ الـمَقْبُولُ عِنْدَ الرَّبّ، بَلْ مَنْ يَشْهَدُ لَهُ الرَّبّ!
Evangile Arabic	1 بَدْءُ إِنْجِيلِ يَسُوعَ الـمَسِيحِ ابْنِ الله. 2 جَاءَ في كِتَابِ النَّبِيِّ آشَعْيا: "هَا إِنِّي أُرْسِلُ مَلاكِي أَمَامَ وَجْهِكَ، وهوَ يُمَهِّدُ طَرِيقَكَ. 3 صَوْتُ صَارِخٍ في البَرِّيَّة: أَعِدُّوا طَرِيقَ الرَّبّ، وَاجْعَلُوا سُبُلَهُ قَوِيـمَة". 4 تَمَّتْ هـذِهِ النُّبُوءَةُ يَوْمَ جَاءَ يُوحَنَّا يُعمِّدُ في البَرِّيَّةِ ويَكْرِزُ بِمَعْمُودِيَّةِ التَّوْبَةِ لِمَغْفِرَةِ الـخَطَايَا. 5 وكَانَتْ كُلُّ بِلادِ اليَهُودِيَّة، وَجَمِيعُ سُكَّانِ أُورَشَليم، يَخْرُجُونَ إِلَيْه، وَيَعْتَمِدُونَ عَلَى يَدِهِ في نَهْرِ الأُرْدُنّ، مُعْتَرِفِينَ بِخَطايَاهُم. 6 وكانَ يُوحَنَّا يَلْبَسُ ثَوْبًا مِنْ وَبَرِ الـجِمَال، وَيَشُدُّ وَسَطَهُ بِحِزَامٍ مِن جِلْد، ويَقْتَاتُ مِنَ الـجَرَادِ وعَسَلِ البَرَارِي. 7 وكانَ يُنَادِي قَائِلاً: "يَأْتِي بَعْدِي مَنْ هُوَ أَقْوَى مِنِّي، مَنْ لا أَسْتَحِقُّ أَنْ أَنْحَنِيَ لأَحُلَّ رِبَاطَ حِذَائِهِ. 8 أَنَا عَمَّدْتُكُم بِالـمَاء، أَمَّا هُوَ فَيُعَمِّدُكُم بِالرُّوحِ القُدُس".

Lecture French	12 Nous n’oserions pas nous égaler ou nous comparer à des gens qui se recommandent eux-mêmes. Lorsqu’ils se prennent eux-mêmes comme unité de mesure et comme norme de comparaison, ils sont sans intelligence. 13 Nous n’allons pas nous vanter démesurément, mais nous garderons la mesure du domaine d’activité que Dieu nous a attribué en nous faisant parvenir aussi jusqu’à vous. 14 En effet, nous ne dépassons pas nos limites comme ce serait le cas si nous n’étions pas parvenus chez vous ; car, en fait, c’est bien jusqu’à vous que nous sommes arrivés pour annoncer l’Évangile du Christ. 15 Nous ne tirons pas du labeur des autres l’occasion de nous vanter démesurément, mais, avec la croissance de votre foi, nous espérons voir honorer de plus en plus notre ministère auprès de vous, sans quitter notre domaine, 16 et porter l’Évangile au-delà de chez vous, sans nous vanter de travaux déjà faits sur le domaine des autres. 17 Celui qui veut être fier qu’il mette sa fierté dans le Seigneur. 18 Celui dont on reconnaît la valeur n’est pas celui qui se recommande lui-même, c’est celui que le Seigneur recommande.
Evangile French	01 COMMENCEMENT DE L’ÉVANGILE de Jésus, Christ, Fils de Dieu. 02 Il est écrit dans Isaïe, le prophète : Voici que j’envoie mon messager en avant de toi, pour ouvrir ton chemin. 03 Voix de celui qui crie dans le désert : Préparez le chemin du Seigneur, rendez droits ses sentiers. 04 Alors Jean, celui qui baptisait, parut dans le désert. Il proclamait un baptême de conversion pour le pardon des péchés. 05 Toute la Judée, tous les habitants de Jérusalem se rendaient auprès de lui, et ils étaient baptisés par lui dans le Jourdain, en reconnaissant publiquement leurs péchés. 06 Jean était vêtu de poil de chameau, avec une ceinture de cuir autour des reins ; il se nourrissait de sauterelles et de miel sauvage. 07 Il proclamait : « Voici venir derrière moi celui qui est plus fort que moi ; je ne suis pas digne de m’abaisser pour défaire la courroie de ses sandales. 08 Moi, je vous ai baptisés avec de l’eau ; lui vous baptisera dans l’Esprit Saint. »

Lecture English	12 * Not that we dare to class or compare ourselves with some of those who recommend themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.h 13 But we will not boast beyond measure but will keep to the limits* God has apportioned us, namely, to reach even to you. 14 For we are not overreaching ourselves, as though we did not reach you; we indeed first came to you with the gospel of Christ. 15 We are not boasting beyond measure, in other people’s labors; yet our hope is that, as your faith increases, our influence among you may be greatly enlarged, within our proper limits, 16 so that we may preach the gospel even beyond you, not boasting of work already done in another’s sphere.i 17 j “Whoever boasts, should boast in the Lord.”* 18 For it is not the one who recommends himself who is approved,* but the one whom the Lord recommends.k
Evangile English	1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ [the Son of God].* The Preaching of John the Baptist. 2 a As it is written in Isaiah the prophet:* b “Behold, I am sending my messenger ahead of you; he will prepare your way. 3 c A voice of one crying out in the desert: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths.’” 4 John [the] Baptist appeared in the desert proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 5 People of the whole Judean countryside and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem were going out to him and were being baptized by him in the Jordan River as they acknowledged their sins. 6 John was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist.* He fed on locusts and wild honey. 7 And this is what he proclaimed: “One mightier than I is coming after me. I am not worthy to stoop and loosen the thongs of his sandals. 8 * d I have baptized you with water; he will baptize you with the holy Spirit.”
