Lecture Arabic	1 لَيْتَكُم تَحْتَمِلُونِي قَليلاً لأَنْطِقَ بِالـجَهَالَة! نَعَم، احْتَمِلُونِي! 2 فإِنِّي أَغَارُ عَلَيْكُم غَيْرَةَ الله، لأَنِّي خَطَبْتُكُم لِرَجُلٍ وَاحِدٍ هوَ الـمَسيح، لأُقَدِّمَكُم إِلَيهِ عَذْرَاءَ طَاهِرَة. 3 لـكِنِّي أَخَافُ لَعَلَّكُم، كَما أَغْوَتِ الـحَيَّةُ بِمَكْرِهَا حَوَّاء، كَذـلِكَ تُفْسَدُ أَفْكَارُكُم وتَتَحَوَّلُ عَنْ بَسَاطَتِهَا وإِخْلاصِهَا لِلمَسِيح! 4 فلَو جَاءَكُم أَحَدٌ يُبَشِّرُ بِيَسُوعَ آخَرَ غَيْرِ الَّذي بَشَّرنَاكُم بِهِ، أَوْ نِلْتُم رُوحًا آخَر غَيْرَ الَّذي نِلْتُمُوه، أَو إِنْجِيلاً آخَرَ غَيْرَ الَّذي قَبِلْتُمُوه، لَكُنْتُم تَحْتَمِلُونَهُ رَاضِين! 5 وأَظُنُّ أَنِّي لَمْ أَنْقُصْ في شَيءٍ عَنْ أَكَابِرِ الرُّسُل. 6 فإِنْ كُنْتُ سَاذَجًا في كَلامِي، فَلَسْتُ كَذـلِكَ في مَعْرِفَتِي، ولَقَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُم ذ,لِكَ في كُلِّ شَيءٍ أَمَامَ الـجَمِيع.
Evangile Arabic	19 وهـذِهِ شَهَادَةُ يُوحَنَّا، حِينَ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ اليَهُود، مِنْ أُورَشَليم، كَهَنَةً ولاوِيِّينَ لِيَسْأَلُوه: "أَنْتَ، مَنْ تَكون؟". 20 فَاعْتَرَفَ، ومَا أَنْكَر، إِْعَتَرَفَ: "أَنَا لَسْتُ الـمَسيح"، 21 فَسَأَلُوه: "مَا أَنْتَ إِذاً؟ هَلْ تَكُونُ إِيلِيَّا؟". فقَال: "لَسْتُ إِيلِيَّا". قَالُوا: "هَلْ تَكُونُ أَنتَ النَّبِيّ؟". فَأَجَاب: "لا!". 22 فَقَالُوا لَهُ: "مَنْ تَكُون، لِنُعْطِيَ جَوَابًا لِلَّذينَ أَرْسَلُونَا؟ مَاذَا تَقُولُ عَنْ نَفْسِكَ؟". 23 أَجَاب: "أَنَا صَوْتُ صَارِخٍ في البَرِّيَّة، قَوِّمُوا طَرِيقَ الرَّبّ، كَمَا قَالَ آشَعيا النَّبِيّ". 24 وكَانَ الـمُرْسَلُونَ مِنَ الفَرِّيسيِّين. 25 فَسَأَلُوهُ وقَالُوا لَهُ: "لِمَاذَا إِذًا تُعَمِّد، إِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ أَنْتَ الـمَسِيح، ولا إِيليَّا، ولا النَّبِيّ؟". 26 أَجَابَهُم يُوحَنَّا قَائِلاً: "أَنَا أُعَمِّدُ بِالـمَاء، وبَيْنَكُم مَنْ لا تَعْرِفُونَهُ، 27 هُوَ الآتِي وَرائِي، وأَنَا لا أَسْتَحِقُّ أَنْ أَحُلَّ رِبَاطَ حِذَائِهِ". 28 جَرَى هـذَا في بَيْتَ عَنْيَا، عِبْرِ الأُرْدُنّ، حَيْثُ كَانَ يُوحَنَّا يُعَمِّد.

Lecture French	01 Pourriez-vous supporter de ma part un peu de folie ? Oui, de ma part, vous allez le supporter, 02 à cause de mon amour jaloux qui est l’amour même de Dieu pour vous. Car je vous ai unis au seul Époux : vous êtes la vierge pure que j’ai présentée au Christ. 03 Mais j’ai bien peur qu’à l’exemple d’Ève séduite par la ruse du serpent, votre intelligence des choses ne se corrompe en perdant la simplicité et la pureté qu’il faut avoir à l’égard du Christ. 04 En effet, si le premier venu vous annonce un autre Jésus, un Jésus que nous n’avons pas annoncé, si vous recevez un esprit différent de celui que vous avez reçu, ou un Évangile différent de celui que vous avez accueilli, vous le supportez fort bien ! 05 J’estime, moi, que je ne suis inférieur en rien à tous ces super-apôtres. 06 Je ne vaux peut-être pas grand-chose pour les discours, mais pour la connaissance de Dieu, c’est différent : nous vous l’avons montré en toute occasion et de toutes les façons.
Evangile French	19 Voici le témoignage de Jean, quand les Juifs lui envoyèrent de Jérusalem des prêtres et des lévites pour lui demander : « Qui es-tu ? » 20 Il ne refusa pas de répondre, il déclara ouvertement : « Je ne suis pas le Christ. » 21 Ils lui demandèrent : « Alors qu’en est-il ? Es-tu le prophète Élie ? » Il répondit : « Je ne le suis pas. – Es-tu le Prophète annoncé ? » Il répondit : « Non. » 22 Alors ils lui dirent : « Qui es-tu ? Il faut que nous donnions une réponse à ceux qui nous ont envoyés. Que dis-tu sur toi-même ? » 23 Il répondit : « Je suis la voix de celui qui crie dans le désert : Redressez le chemin du Seigneur, comme a dit le prophète Isaïe. » 24 Or, ils avaient été envoyés de la part des pharisiens. 25 Ils lui posèrent encore cette question : « Pourquoi donc baptises-tu, si tu n’es ni le Christ, ni Élie, ni le Prophète ? » 26 Jean leur répondit : « Moi, je baptise dans l’eau. Mais au milieu de vous se tient celui que vous ne connaissez pas ; 27 c’est lui qui vient derrière moi, et je ne suis pas digne de délier la courroie de sa sandale. » 28 Cela s’est passé à Béthanie, de l’autre côté du Jourdain, à l’endroit où Jean baptisait.

Lecture English	1 If only you would put up with a little foolishness from me!* Please put up with me.a 2 * For I am jealous of you with the jealousy of God, since I betrothed you to one husband to present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.b 3 But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve* by his cunning, your thoughts may be corrupted from a sincere [and pure] commitment to Christ.c 4 For if someone comes and preaches another Jesus* than the one we preached,d or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it well enough. 5 * e For I think that I am not in any way inferior to these “superapostles.” 6 Even if I am untrained in speaking, I am not so in knowledge;f in every way we have made this plain to you in all things.*
Evangile English	19 * And this is the testimony of John. When the Jews* from Jerusalem sent priests and Levites [to him] to ask him, “Who are you?” 20 * he admitted and did not deny it, but admitted,o “I am not the Messiah.” 21 So they asked him, “What are you then? Are you Elijah?”* And he said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No.”p 22 So they said to him, “Who are you, so we can give an answer to those who sent us? What do you have to say for yourself?” 23 He said: “I am ‘the voice of one crying out in the desert,q “Make straight the way of the Lord,”’* as Isaiah the prophet said.” 24 Some Pharisees* were also sent. 25 They asked him, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Messiah or Elijah or the Prophet?”r 26 John answered them, “I baptize with water;* but there is one among you whom you do not recognize,s 27 the one who is coming after me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to untie.” 28 This happened in Bethany across the Jordan,* where John was baptizing.
