Lecture Arabic	1 وأُعْطِيتُ قَصَبَةً أَشْبَهَ بِالعَصَا، وَقِيلَ لي: "قُمْ وَقِسْ هَيْكَلَ اللهِ وَالـمَذْبَح، وَعُدَّ السَّاجِدِينَ فِيه. 2 أَمَّا الدَّارُ الَّتِي في خَارِجِ الـهَيْكَلِ فَاطْرَحْهَا خَارِجًا وَلا تَقِسْهَا، لأَنَّهَا أُعْطِيَتْ لِلأُمَم، وهُم سَيَدُوسُونَ الـمَدِينَةَ الـمُقَدَّسَةَ اثْنَينِ وأَرْبَعِينَ شَهْرًا. 3 وسَأُعْطِي شَاهِدَيَّ فيَتَنَبَّآنِ وهُمَا مُوَشَّحَانِ بِالـمِسْح، أَلْفًا ومِئَتَيْنِ وسِتِّينَ يَوْمًا". 4 فهـذَانِ هُمَا الزَّيْتُونَتَانِ والـمَنَارَتَانِ القَائِمَتَانِ أَمَامَ رَبِّ الأَرْض. 5 فَإِنْ شَاءَ أَحَدٌ أَنْ يُؤْذِيَهُمَا، تَخْرُجُ نَارٌ مِنْ فَمِهِمَا فَتَلْتَهِمُ أَعْدَاءَهُمَا. وإِنْ شَاءَ أَحَدٌ أَنْ يُؤْذِيَهُمَا، فَهـكذَا يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يُقْتَل. 6 وهـذَانِ لَهُمَا السُّلْطَانُ أَنْ يَحْبِسَا السَّماء، حَتَّى لا يَنْزِلَ الـمَطَرُ في أَيَّامِ نُبُوءَتِهِمَا. ولَهُمَا سُلْطانٌ على الـمِيَاهِ أَنْ يُحَوِّلاهَا إِلى دَم، وأَنْ يَضْرِبَا الأَرْضَ بِكُلِّ ضَرْبَة، كُلَّمَا أَرَادَا. 7 وَحِينَ يُتِمَّانِ شَهَادَتَهُما، يَشُنُّ الوَحْشُ الطَّالِعُ مِنَ الْهَاوِيَةِ الـحَرْبَ عَلَيْهِما، فَيَغْلِبُهُمَا وَيَقْتُلُهُما. 8 وَتَبْقَى جُثَّتَاهُمَا في سَاحَةِ الـمَدِينَةِ العَظِيمَة، الَّتي تُدْعَى عَلى سَبِيلِ الرَّمْزِ سَدُومَ وَمِصْر، حَيْثُ صُلِبَ رَبُّهُما أَيْضًا. 9 ويَنْظُرُ إِلى جُثَّتَيْهِما أُناسٌ مِن مُخْتَلِفِ الشُّعُوبِ والقَبائِلِ والأَلْسِنَة والأُمَم، مُدَّةَ ثَلاثَةِ أيَّام ونِصْفِ يَوْم، ولا يَدَعُون جُثَّتَهُما تُدْفَنُ في قَبْر. 10 ويَشْمَتُ بِهِما سُكَّانُ الأَرْض ويَتَهَلَّلُون، ويَتَبَادَلُونَ الـهَدَايا، لأَنَّ هـذَينِ النَّبِيَّينِ قَدْ عَذَّبَا سُكَّانَ الأَرْض. 11 وَبَعْدَ الأَيَّامِ الثَّلاثَةِ ونِصْفِ اليَوْم، دَخَلَ فيهِما رُوحُ حَياةٍ مِنَ الله، فَوَقَفا على أَرْجُلِهِما، فَوَقَعَ على الَّذِينَ شاهَدُوهُما خَوْفٌ شَدِيد. 12 وَسَمِعا صَوتًا عَظِيمًا مِنَ السَّماءِ يَقُولُ لَهُما: "إِصْعَدا إِلى هُنَا!". فَصَعِدا في الغَمَامَةِ إِلى السَّمَاء، وشَاهَدَهُما أَعْدَاؤُهُما.
Evangile Arabic	33 أَمَّا هُم فَقَالُوا لَهُ: "تَلاميذُ يُوحَنَّا يَصُومُونَ كَثيرًا وَيَرْفَعُونَ الطِّلْبَات، ومِثْلُهُم تَلامِيذُ الفَرِّيسييِّن، أَمَّا تَلاميذُكَ فَيَأْكُلُونَ وَيَشْرَبُون". 34 فَقَالَ لَـهُم يَسُوع: "هَلْ تَسْتَطِيعُونَ أَنْ تَجْعَلُوا بَنِي العُرْسِ يَصُومُون، والعَريسُ مَعَهُم؟ 35 ولـكِنْ سَتَأْتي أَيَّامٌ يَكُونُ فيهَا العَرِيسُ قَدْ رُفِعَ مِنْ بَيْنِهِم، حيِنَئِذٍ في تِلْكَ الأَيَّامِ يَصُومُون". 36 وقَالَ لَـهُم أَيضًا مَثَلاً: "لا أَحَدَ يَقْتَطِعُ رُقْعَةً مِنْ ثَوْبٍ جَدِيد، وَيَرْقَعُ بِهَا ثَوبًا بَالِيًا، وإِلاَّ فَإِنَّهُ يُمَزِّقُ الـجَديد، وَالرُّقْعَةُ الَّتي يَقْتَطِعُها مِنْهُ لا تَتَلاءَمُ مَعَ الثَّوبِ البَالي. 37 ولا أَحَدَ يَضَعُ خَمْرَةً جَدِيدَةً في زِقَاقٍ عَتِيقَة، وإِلاَّ فَالـخَمْرَةُ الـجَدِيدَةُ تَشُقُّ الزِّقَاق، فَتُرَاقُ الـخَمْرَة، وَتُتْلَفُ الزِّقَاق، 38 بَلْ يَجِبُ أَنْ تُوضَعَ الـخَمْرَةُ الـجَديدَةُ في زِقَاقٍ جَديدَة. 39 ولا أَحَدَ يَشْرَبُ خَمْرَةً مُعَتَّقَة، وَيَبْتَغي خَمْرَةً جَـدِيدَة، بَلْ يَـقُول: أَلـمُعَتَّقَةُ أَطْيَب!".

Lecture French	01 Puis il me fut donné un roseau, une sorte de règle, avec cette parole : « Lève-toi, mesure le sanctuaire de Dieu, l’autel et ceux qui s’y prosternent. 02 Mais la cour au-dehors du Sanctuaire, tiens-la en dehors, ne la mesure pas, car elle a été donnée aux nations : elles fouleront aux pieds la Ville sainte pendant quarante-deux mois. 03 Et je donnerai à mes deux témoins de prophétiser, vêtus de toile à sac, pendant mille deux cent soixante jours. » 04 Ce sont eux les deux oliviers, les deux chandeliers, qui se tiennent devant le Seigneur de la terre. 05 Si quelqu’un veut leur faire du mal, un feu jaillit de leur bouche et dévore leurs ennemis ; oui, celui qui voudra leur faire du mal, c’est ainsi qu’il doit mourir. 06 Ces deux témoins ont le pouvoir de fermer le ciel, pour que la pluie ne tombe pas pendant les jours de leur prophétie. Ils ont aussi le pouvoir de changer l’eau en sang et de frapper la terre de toutes sortes de fléaux, aussi souvent qu’ils le voudront. 07 Mais, quand ils auront achevé leur témoignage, la Bête qui monte de l’abîme leur fera la guerre, les vaincra et les fera mourir. 08 Leurs cadavres restent sur la place de la grande ville, qu’on appelle, au sens figuré, Sodome et l’Égypte, là où leur Seigneur aussi a été crucifié. 09 De tous les peuples, tribus, langues et nations, on vient regarder leurs cadavres pendant trois jours et demi, sans qu’il soit permis de les mettre au tombeau. 10 Les habitants de la terre s’en réjouissent, ils sont dans la joie, ils échangent des présents ; ces deux prophètes, en effet, avaient causé bien du tourment aux habitants de la terre. 11 Mais, après ces trois jours et demi, un souffle de vie venu de Dieu entra en eux : ils se dressèrent sur leurs pieds, et une grande crainte tomba sur ceux qui les regardaient. 12 Alors les deux témoins entendirent une voix forte venant du ciel, qui leur disait : « Montez jusqu’ici ! » Et ils montèrent au ciel dans la nuée, sous le regard de leurs ennemis.
Evangile French	33 Ils lui dirent alors : « Les disciples de Jean le Baptiste jeûnent souvent et font des prières ; de même ceux des pharisiens. Au contraire, les tiens mangent et boivent ! » 34 Jésus leur dit : « Pouvez-vous faire jeûner les invités de la noce, pendant que l’Époux est avec eux ? 35 Mais des jours viendront où l’Époux leur sera enlevé ; alors, en ces jours-là, ils jeûneront. » 36 Il leur dit aussi en parabole : « Personne ne déchire un morceau à un vêtement neuf pour le coudre sur un vieux vêtement. Autrement, on aura déchiré le neuf, et le morceau qui vient du neuf ne s’accordera pas avec le vieux. 37 Et personne ne met du vin nouveau dans de vieilles outres ; autrement, le vin nouveau fera éclater les outres, il se répandra et les outres seront perdues. 38 Mais on doit mettre le vin nouveau dans des outres neuves. 39 Jamais celui qui a bu du vin vieux ne désire du nouveau. Car il dit : “C’est le vieux qui est bon.” »

Lecture English	1 * a Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff and I was told, “Come and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count those who are worshiping in it. 2 But exclude the outer court* of the temple; do not measure it, for it has been handed over to the Gentiles, who will trample the holy city for forty-two months. 3 I will commission my two witnesses* to prophesy for those twelve hundred and sixty days, wearing sackcloth.” 4 b These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands* that stand before the Lord of the earth. 5 * If anyone wants to harm them, fire comes out of their mouths and devours their enemies. In this way, anyone wanting to harm them is sure to be slain. 6 They have the power to close up the sky so that no rain can fall during the time of their prophesying. They also have power to turn water into blood and to afflict the earth with any plague as often as they wish.c 7 When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the abyss* will wage war against them and conquer them and kill them.d 8 Their corpses will lie in the main street of the great city,* which has the symbolic names “Sodom” and “Egypt,” where indeed their Lord was crucified. 9 * Those from every people, tribe, tongue, and nation will gaze on their corpses for three and a half days, and they will not allow their corpses to be buried. 10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and be glad and exchange gifts because these two prophets tormented the inhabitants of the earth. 11 But after the three and a half days, a breath of life from God entered them. When they stood on their feet, great fear fell on those who saw them.e 12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven say to them, “Come up here.” So they went up to heaven in a cloud as their enemies looked on.f
Evangile English	33 And they said to him, “The disciples of John fast often and offer prayers, and the disciples of the Pharisees do the same; but yours eat and drink.” 34 * Jesus answered them, “Can you make the wedding guests* fast while the bridegroom is with them? 35 But the days will come, and when the bridegroom is taken away from them, then they will fast in those days.” 36 * And he also told them a parable. “No one tears a piece from a new cloak to patch an old one. Otherwise, he will tear the new and the piece from it will not match the old cloak. 37 Likewise, no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be ruined. 38 Rather, new wine must be poured into fresh wineskins. 39 [And] no one who has been drinking old wine desires new, for he says, ‘The old is good.’”*
