Lecture Arabic	26 فَانْظُرُوا دَعْوَتَكُم، يَا إِخْوَتِي، فَلَيْسَ فِيكُم كَثِيرُونَ حُكَمَاءُ بِحِكْمَةِ البَشَر، ولا كَثِيرُونَ أَقْوِيَاء، ولا كَثِيرُونَ مِنْ ذَوِي الـحَسَبِ الشَّرِيف. 27 إِلاَّ أَنَّ اللهَ اخْتَارَ مَا هُوَ حَمَاقَةٌ في العَالَمِ لِيُخْزِيَ الـحُكَمَاء، ومَا هُوَ ضُعْفٌ في العَالَمِ لِيُخْزِيَ الأَقْوِيَاء. 28 واخْتَارَ اللهُ مَا هُوَ وَضِيعٌ ومُحْتَقَرٌ ومَعْدُوم، لِيُبْطِلَ الـمَوْجُود، 29 لِئَلاَّ يَفْتَخِرَ بَشَرٌ أَمَامَ الله. 30 فَبِفَضْلِ اللهِ أَنْتُم في الـمَسِيحِ يَسُوع، الَّذي صَارَ لَنَا مِنْ عِنْدِ اللهِ حِكْمَةً وَبِرًّا وتَقْدِيسًا وَفِدَاء، 31 لِيَتِمَّ مَا هُوَ مَكْتُوب: "مَنْ يَفْتَخِرْ فَلْيَفْتَخِرْ بِالرَّبّ!".
Evangile Arabic	11 وفيمَا النَّاسُ يَسْمَعُونَ ذـلِكَ، أَضَافَ يَسُوعُ هـذَا الـمَثَل، لأَنَّهُ كانَ قَدِ اقْتَرَبَ مِنْ أُورَشَليم، وَكانُوا يَظُنُّونَ أَنَّ مَلَكُوتَ اللهِ سَيَظْهَرُ فَجْأَةً، 12 فَقَال: "رَجُلٌ شَرِيفُ النَّسَبِ ذَهَبَ إِلَى بَلَدٍ بَعِيد، لِيَحْصَلَ عَلى الـمُلْكِ ثُمَّ يَعُود. 13 فَدَعَا عَشَرَةَ عَبِيدٍ لَهُ، وَأَعْطَاهُم عَشَرَةَ أَمْنَاءٍ أَي كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِئَةَ دِينَار، وَقَال لَهُم: تَاجِرُوا بِهَا حَتَّى أَعُود. 14 لَكِنَّ أَهْلَ بَلَدِهِ كَانُوا يُبْغِضُونَهُ، فَأَرْسَلُوا وَرَاءَهُ وَفْدًا قَائِلين: لا نُريدُ أَنْ يَمْلِكَ عَلَيْنا هـذَا الرَّجُل. 15 ولَمَّا عَاد، وَقَدْ تَوَلَّى الـمُلْك، أَمَرَ بِأَنْ يُدْعَى إِلَيْهِ أُولـئِكَ العَبِيدُ الَّذِينَ أَعْطَاهُمُ الفِضَّة، لِيَعْرِفَ بِمَا تَاجَرَ كُلُّ وَاحِد. 16 فتَقَدَّمَ الأَوَّلُ وَقال: سَيِّدي، رَبِحَ مَنَاكَ عَشَرَةَ أَمْنَاء. 17 فقَالَ لَهُ: يَا لَكَ عَبْدًا صَالِحًا! لأَنَّكَ كُنْتَ أَمِينًا في القَليل، كُنْ مُسَلَّطًا عَلَى عَشْرِ مُدُن! 18 وجَاءَ الثَّاني فَقال: سَيِّدي، رَبِحَ مَنَاكَ خَمْسَةَ أَمْنَاء! 19 فقالَ لِهـذَا أَيْضًا: وَأَنْتَ كُنْ مُسَلَّطًا عَلَى خَمْسِ مُدُن! 20 وجَاءَ الثَّالِثُ فَقال: سَيِّدي، هُوَذَا مَنَاكَ الَّذي كانَ لي، وَقَدْ وَضَعْتُهُ في مِنْدِيل! 21 فَقَدْ كُنْتُ أَخَافُ مِنْكَ، لأَنَّكَ رَجُلٌ قَاسٍ، تَأْخُذُ مَا لَمْ تَضَعْ، وَتَحْصُدُ مَا لَمْ تَزْرَعْ! 22 قالَ لَهُ الـمَلِك: مِنْ فَمِكَ أَدينُكَ أَيُّها العَبْدُ الشِرِّير.كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنِّي رَجُلٌ قَاسٍ، آخُذُ مَا لَمْ أَضَعْ، وَأَحْصُدُ مَا لَمْ أَزْرَعْ، 23 فَلِمَاذا لَمْ تَضَعْ فِضَّتِي عَلَى طَاوِلَةِ الصَّيَارِفَة، حَتَّى إِذَا عُدْتُ اسْتَرْجَعْتُهَا مَعَ فَائِدَتِهَا. 24 ثُمَّ قَالَ لِلْحَاضِرين: خُذُوا مِنْهُ الـمَنَا، وَأَعْطُوهُ لِصَاحِبِ الأَمْنَاءِ العَشَرَة. 25 فَقَالُوا لَهُ: يَا سيِّد، لَدَيهِ عَشَرَةُ أَمْنَاء! 26 فَأَجَابَهُم: إِنِّي أَقُولُ لَكُم: كُلُّ مَنْ لَهُ يُعْطَى، وَمَنْ لَيْسَ لَهُ يُؤْخَذُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى مَا هُوَ لَهُ. 27 أَمَّا أَعْدَائِي أُولـئِكَ الَّذينَ لَمْ يُرِيدُوا أَنْ أَمْلِكَ عَلَيْهِم، فَسُوقُوهُم إِلَى هُنَا واذْبَحُوهُم قُدَّامي". 28 قالَ يَسُوعُ هـذَا وَتَقَدَّمَ صَاعِدًا إِلَى أُورَشَليم.

Lecture French	26 Frères, vous qui avez été appelés par Dieu, regardez bien : parmi vous, il n’y a pas beaucoup de sages aux yeux des hommes, ni de gens puissants ou de haute naissance. 27 Au contraire, ce qu’il y a de fou dans le monde, voilà ce que Dieu a choisi, pour couvrir de confusion les sages ; ce qu’il y a de faible dans le monde, voilà ce que Dieu a choisi, pour couvrir de confusion ce qui est fort ; 28 ce qui est d’origine modeste, méprisé dans le monde, ce qui n’est pas, voilà ce que Dieu a choisi, pour réduire à rien ce qui est ; 29 ainsi aucun être de chair ne pourra s’enorgueillir devant Dieu. 30 C’est grâce à Dieu, en effet, que vous êtes dans le Christ Jésus, lui qui est devenu pour nous sagesse venant de Dieu, justice, sanctification, rédemption. 31 Ainsi, comme il est écrit : Celui qui veut être fier, qu’il mette sa fierté dans le Seigneur.
Evangile French	11 Comme on l’écoutait, Jésus ajouta une parabole : il était près de Jérusalem et ses auditeurs pensaient que le royaume de Dieu allait se manifester à l’instant même. 12 Voici donc ce qu’il dit : « Un homme de la noblesse partit dans un pays lointain pour se faire donner la royauté et revenir ensuite. 13 Il appela dix de ses serviteurs, et remit à chacun une somme de la valeur d’une mine ; puis il leur dit : “Pendant mon voyage, faites de bonnes affaires.” 14 Mais ses concitoyens le détestaient, et ils envoyèrent derrière lui une délégation chargée de dire : “Nous ne voulons pas que cet homme règne sur nous.” 15 Quand il fut de retour après avoir reçu la royauté, il fit convoquer les serviteurs auxquels il avait remis l’argent, afin de savoir ce que leurs affaires avaient rapporté. 16 Le premier se présenta et dit : “Seigneur, la somme que tu m’avais remise a été multipliée par dix.” 17 Le roi lui déclara : “Très bien, bon serviteur ! Puisque tu as été fidèle en si peu de chose, reçois l’autorité sur dix villes.” 18 Le second vint dire : “La somme que tu m’avais remise, Seigneur, a été multipliée par cinq.” 19 À celui-là encore, le roi dit : “Toi, de même, sois à la tête de cinq villes.” 20 Le dernier vint dire : “Seigneur, voici la somme que tu m’avais remise ; je l’ai gardée enveloppée dans un linge. 21 En effet, j’avais peur de toi, car tu es un homme exigeant, tu retires ce que tu n’as pas mis en dépôt, tu moissonnes ce que tu n’as pas semé.” 22 Le roi lui déclara : “Je vais te juger sur tes paroles, serviteur mauvais : tu savais que je suis un homme exigeant, que je retire ce que je n’ai pas mis en dépôt, que je moissonne ce que je n’ai pas semé ; 23 alors pourquoi n’as-tu pas mis mon argent à la banque ? À mon arrivée, je l’aurais repris avec les intérêts.” 24 Et le roi dit à ceux qui étaient là : “Retirez-lui cette somme et donnez-la à celui qui a dix fois plus.” 25 On lui dit : “Seigneur, il a dix fois plus ! 26 – Je vous le déclare : on donnera à celui qui a ; mais celui qui n’a rien se verra enlever même ce qu’il a. 27 Quant à mes ennemis, ceux qui n’ont pas voulu que je règne sur eux, amenez-les ici et égorgez-les devant moi.” » 28 Après avoir ainsi parlé, Jésus partit en avant pour monter à Jérusalem.

Lecture English	26 Consider your own calling, brothers. Not many of you were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 Rather, God chose the foolish of the world to shame the wise, and God chose the weak of the world to shame the strong,p 28 and God chose the lowly and despised of the world, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who are something, 29 so that no human being might boast* before God.q 30 It is due to him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, as well as righteousness, sanctification, and redemption,r 31 so that, as it is written, “Whoever boasts, should boast in the Lord.”s
Evangile English	e While they were listening to him speak, he proceeded to tell a parable because he was near Jerusalem and they thought that the kingdom of God would appear there immediately. 12 So he said, “A nobleman went off to a distant country to obtain the kingship for himself and then to return.f 13 He called ten of his servants and gave them ten gold coins* and told them, ‘Engage in trade with these until I return.’ 14 His fellow citizens, however, despised him and sent a delegation after him to announce, ‘We do not want this man to be our king.’ 15 But when he returned after obtaining the kingship, he had the servants called, to whom he had given the money, to learn what they had gained by trading. 16 The first came forward and said, ‘Sir, your gold coin has earned ten additional ones.’ 17 He replied, ‘Well done, good servant! You have been faithful in this very small matter; take charge of ten cities.’g 18 Then the second came and reported, ‘Your gold coin, sir, has earned five more.’ 19 And to this servant too he said, ‘You, take charge of five cities.’ 20 Then the other servant came and said, ‘Sir, here is your gold coin; I kept it stored away in a handkerchief, 21 for I was afraid of you, because you are a demanding person; you take up what you did not lay down and you harvest what you did not plant.’ 22 He said to him, ‘With your own words I shall condemn you, you wicked servant. You knew I was a demanding person, taking up what I did not lay down and harvesting what I did not plant; 23 why did you not put my money in a bank? Then on my return I would have collected it with interest.’ 24 And to those standing by he said, ‘Take the gold coin from him and give it to the servant who has ten.’ 25 But they said to him, ‘Sir, he has ten gold coins.’ 26 ‘I tell you, to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.h 27 Now as for those enemies of mine who did not want me as their king, bring them here and slay them before me.’” The Entry into Jerusalem.i 28 After he had said this, he proceeded on his journey up to Jerusalem.
