Lecture Arabic	13 وأَنْتُم تَعْلَمُونَ أَنِّي بِسَبَبِ عِلَّةٍ في جَسَدي بَشَّرْتُكُم لِلمَرَّةِ الأُولى. 14 ومَعَ أَنَّ العِلَّةَ في جَسَدِي كَانَتْ مِحْنَةً لَكُم، فإِنَّكُم لَمْ تَحْتَقِرُونِي بِسَبَبِهَا ولَمْ تَشْمَئِزُّوا مِنِّي، بَلْ تَقَبَّلْتُمُونِي كَأَنِّي مَلاكٌ مِنَ الله، كَأَنِّي الـمَسِيحُ يَسُوع! 15 إِذًا فأَيْنَ اغْتِبَاطُكُمُ الآن؟ وإِنِّي لأَ[شْهَدُ لَكُم أَنَّكُم لَوِ اسْتَطَعْتُم لَقَلَعْتُم عُيُونَكُم وَأَعْطَيْتُمُونِي إِيَّاهَا! 16 فهَلْ صِرْتُ لَكُم عَدُوًّا، لأَنِّي كُنْتُ صَادِقًا مَعَكُم؟ 17 إِنَّهُم يَغَارُونَ عَلَيْكُم لا لِخَيْرِكُم، بَلْ يُريدُونَ أَنْ يَصُدُّوكُم عَنِّي، لِكَي تَغَارُوا عَلَيْهِم! 18 إِنَّهُ لَحَسَنٌ أَنْ تَغَارُوا على الـخَير، في كُلِّ حِين، لا في حُضُوري عِنْدَكُم فَقَط. 19 يَا أَوْلادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَتَمَخَّضُ بِكُم ثَانِيَةً حتَّى يُصَوَّرَ الـمَسِيحُ فيكُم! 20 كُنْتُ أَوَدُّ أَنْ أَكُونَ الآنَ حَاضِرًا عِنْدَكُم، وأُغَيِّرَ لَهْجَتِي، لأَنِّي مُحْتَارٌ في أَمْرِكُم!
Evangile Arabic	21 وفي تِلْكَ السَّاعَةِ ابْتَهَجَ يَسُوعُ بِالرُّوحِ القُدُس، فَقَال: "أَعْتَرِفُ لَكَ، يَا أَبَتِ، رَبَّ السَّمَاءِ وَالأَرْض، لأَنَّكَ أَخْفَيْتَ هـذِهِ الأُمُورَ عَنِ الـحُكَمَاءِ وَالفُهَمَاء، وَأَظْهَرْتَها لِلأَطْفَال. نَعَم، أَيُّهَا الآب، لأَنَّكَ هـكذَا ارْتَضَيْت. 22 لَقَدْ سَلَّمَنِي أَبي كُلَّ شَيء، فَمَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يَعْرِفُ مَنْ هُوَ الابْنُ إِلاَّ الآب، وَلا مَنْ هُوَ الآبُ إِلاَّ الابْن، وَمَنْ يُريدُ الابْنُ أَنْ يُظْهِرَهُ لَهُ". 23 ثُمَّ التَفَتَ إِلى تَلامِيذِهِ، وقَالَ لَهُم عَلى انْفِرَاد: "طُوبَى لِلْعُيونِ الَّتِي تَنْظُرُ مَا أَنْتُم تَنْظُرُون! 24 فَإِنِّي أَقُولُ لَكُم: إِنَّ أَنْبِياءَ وَمُلُوكًا كَثِيرِينَ أَرادُوا أَنْ يَرَوا مَا أَنْتُم تَنْظُرُون، فَلَمْ يَرَوا، وَأَنْ يَسْمَعُوا مَا تَسْمَعُون، فَلَمْ يَسْمَعُوا".

Lecture French	13 Vous le savez : c’est par suite d’une maladie que je vous ai annoncé l’Évangile pour la première fois ; 14 et l’épreuve qu’était pour vous ce corps malade, vous ne l’avez pas repoussée avec dégoût, mais vous m’avez accueilli comme un ange de Dieu, comme le Christ Jésus lui-même. 15 Où donc est votre bonheur d’alors ? Je vous en rends témoignage : si vous aviez pu, vous vous seriez arraché les yeux pour me les donner. 16 Suis-je donc devenu votre ennemi pour vous avoir dit la vérité ? 17 Certains ont pour vous un attachement qui n’est pas bon ; en fait, ils voudraient vous isoler pour que vous vous attachiez à eux. 18 Mieux vaut un attachement de bonne qualité en tout temps, et pas seulement quand je suis chez vous. 19 Mes enfants, vous que j’enfante à nouveau dans la douleur jusqu’à ce que le Christ soit formé en vous, 20 je voudrais être maintenant près de vous et pouvoir changer le ton de ma voix, car je ne sais comment m’y prendre avec vous.
Evangile French	21 À l’heure même, Jésus exulta de joie sous l’action de l’Esprit Saint, et il dit : « Père, Seigneur du ciel et de la terre, je proclame ta louange : ce que tu as caché aux sages et aux savants, tu l’as révélé aux tout-petits. Oui, Père, tu l’as voulu ainsi dans ta bienveillance. 22 Tout m’a été remis par mon Père. Personne ne connaît qui est le Fils, sinon le Père ; et personne ne connaît qui est le Père, sinon le Fils et celui à qui le Fils veut le révéler. » 23 Puis il se tourna vers ses disciples et leur dit en particulier : « Heureux les yeux qui voient ce que vous voyez ! 24 Car, je vous le déclare : beaucoup de prophètes et de rois ont voulu voir ce que vous-mêmes voyez, et ne l’ont pas vu, entendre ce que vous entendez, et ne l’ont pas entendu. »

Lecture English	13 you know that it was because of a physical illness* that I originally preached the gospel to you, 14 and you did not show disdain or contempt because of the trial caused you by my physical condition, but rather you received me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus. 15 Where now is that blessedness of yours?* Indeed, I can testify to you that, if it had been possible, you would have torn out your eyes and given them to me. 16 So now have I become your enemy by telling you the truth? 17 They show interest in you, but not in a good way; they want to isolate you,* so that you may show interest in them.j 18 Now it is good to be shown interest for good reason at all times, and not only when I am with you. 19 My children, for whom I am again in labor until Christ be formed in you!k 20 I would like to be with you now and to change my tone, for I am perplexed because of you.
Evangile English	21 At that very moment he rejoiced [in] the holy Spirit and said, “I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike.* Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.t 22 All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”u The Privileges of Discipleship.v 23 Turning to the disciples in private he said, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. 24 For I say to you, many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it.”
