Lecture Arabic	32 تَذَكَّرُوا الأَيَّامَ الأُولى، الَّتي فيهَا اسْتَنَرْتُم، وَصَبَرْتُم عَلى الآلامِ في جِهَادٍ طَوِيل، 33 وصِرْتُم تَارةً مَشْهَدًا في احْتِمَالِ التَّعْيِيرِ والضِّيقَات، وتَارةً شُرَكَاءَ لِلَّذِينَ احْتَمَلُوا مِثْلَ ذـلِكَ. 34 فقَدْ شَارَكْتُمُ الأَسْرَى في آلامِهِم، وتَقَبَّلْتُم بِفَرَحٍ نَهْبَ مُقْتَنَيَاتِكُم، عَارِفِينَ أَنَّ لَكُم مُقْتَنًى أَفْضَلَ وأَبْقَى. 35 إِذًا فلا تَتَخَلَّوا عَن ثِقَتِكُم، فإِنَّ لَهَا ثَوابًا عَظِيمًا. 36 وأَنْتُم بِحَاجَةٍ إِلى ثَبَات، لِتَعْمَلُوا بِمَشِيئَةِ الله، فَتَنَالُوا الوَعْد. 37 فبَعْدَ قَلِيلٍ قَلِيل، سَيَأْتِي الآتِي ولا يُبْطِئ. 38 أَمَّا البَّارُّ فَبِالإِيـمَانِ يَحْيَا، وَإِنِ ارْتَدَّ فلا تَرْضَاهُ نَفْسِي! 39 أَمَّا نَحْنُ فَلَسْنَا أَبْنَاءَ ارْتِدَادٍ لِلهَلاك، بَلْ أَبْنَاءُ إِيْمَانٍ لِلخَلاص.
Evangile Arabic	20 لا أَسْأَلُ مِنْ أَجْلِ هـؤُلاءِ وَحْدَهُم، بَلْ أَيْضًا مِنْ أَجْلِ الَّذينَ بِفَضْلِ كَلِمَتِهِم هُمْ مُؤْمِنُونَ بِي. 21 لِيَكُونُوا كُلُّهُم وَاحِدًا، كَمَا أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ فيَّ، يَا أَبَتِ، وأَنَا فِيك، لِيَكُونُوا هُم أَيضًا وَاحِدًا فِينَا، لِكَي يُؤْمِنَ العَالَمُ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي. 22 أَنَا وَهَبْتُ لَهُمُ الـمَجْدَ الَّذي وَهَبْتَهُ لي، لِيَكُونُوا وَاحِدًا كَمَا نَحْنُ وَاحِد. 23 أَنَا فِيهِم، وأَنْتَ فيَّ، لِيَكُونُوا مُكَمَّلِينَ في الوَحْدَة، فَيَعْرِفَ العَالَمُ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي، وأَنَّكَ أَحْبَبْتَهُم كَمَا أَحْبَبْتَنِي.

Lecture French	32 Souvenez-vous de ces premiers jours où vous veniez de recevoir la lumière du Christ : vous avez soutenu alors le dur combat des souffrances, 33 tantôt donnés en spectacle sous les insultes et les brimades, tantôt solidaires de ceux qu’on traitait ainsi. 34 En effet, vous avez montré de la compassion à ceux qui étaient en prison ; vous avez accepté avec joie qu’on vous arrache vos biens, car vous étiez sûrs de posséder un bien encore meilleur, et permanent. 35 Ne perdez pas votre assurance ; grâce à elle, vous serez largement récompensés. 36 Car l’endurance vous est nécessaire pour accomplir la volonté de Dieu et obtenir ainsi la réalisation des promesses. 37 En effet, encore un peu, très peu de temps, et celui qui doit venir arrivera, il ne tardera pas. 38 Celui qui est juste à mes yeux par la foi vivra ; mais s’il abandonne, je ne trouve plus mon bonheur en lui. 39 Or nous ne sommes pas, nous, de ceux qui abandonnent et vont à leur perte, mais de ceux qui ont la foi et sauvegardent leur âme.
Evangile French	20 Je ne prie pas seulement pour ceux qui sont là, mais encore pour ceux qui, grâce à leur parole, croiront en moi. 21 Que tous soient un, comme toi, Père, tu es en moi, et moi en toi. Qu’ils soient un en nous, eux aussi, pour que le monde croie que tu m’as envoyé. 22 Et moi, je leur ai donné la gloire que tu m’as donnée, pour qu’ils soient un comme nous sommes UN : 23 moi en eux, et toi en moi. Qu’ils deviennent ainsi parfaitement un, afin que le monde sache que tu m’as envoyé, et que tu les as aimés comme tu m’as aimé.

Lecture English	32 Remember the days past when, after you had been enlightened,* you endured a great contest of suffering.y 33 At times you were publicly exposed to abuse and affliction; at other times you associated yourselves with those so treated.z 34 You even joined in the sufferings of those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, knowing that you had a better and lasting possession.a 35 Therefore, do not throw away your confidence; it will have great recompense.b 36 You need endurance to do the will of God and receive what he has promised.c 37 “For, after just a brief moment,* he who is to come shall come; he shall not delay.d 38 But my just one shall live by faith, and if he draws back I take no pleasure in him.”e
Evangile English	20 “I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21 so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.m 22 And I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one, 23 I in them and you in me, that they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know that you sent me, and that you loved them even as you loved me.
