Lecture Arabic	1 إذًا أَقُول: أَلَعَلَّ اللهَ رَفَضَ شَعْبَهُ؟ حَاشَا! فإِنِّي أَنَا أَيْضًا إِسْرَائِيلِيّ، مِنْ نَسْلِ إِبْرَاهِيم، مِنْ سِبْطِ بِنْيَامِين. 2 لا، لَمْ يَرْفُضِ اللهُ شَعْبَهُ، وقَدْ عَرَفَهُ مُنْذُ القَدِيم! أَوَمَا تَعْلَمُونَ مَا يَقُولُ الكِتَابُ في شَأْنِ إِيلِيَّا، كَيْفَ كَانَ يُخَاطِبُ اللهَ شَاكِيًا إِسْرَائِيلَ وَيَقُول: 3 "يَا رَبّ، قَتَلُوا أَنْبِيَاءَكَ، وَهَدَمُوا مَذَابِحَكَ، وَبَقِيتُ أَنَا وَحْدي، وهُم يَطْلُبُونَ نَفْسِي!". 4 ولـكِنْ مَاذَا يُجِيبُهُ اللهُ في الوَحي؟: "إِنِّي أَبْقَيْتُ لي سَبْعَةَ آلافِ رَجُل، مَا حَنَوا رُكْبَةً لِلبَعْل!". 5 كَذـلِكَ أَيْضًا في الوَقتِ الـحَاضِر، لا تَزَالُ تُوجَدُ بَقِيَّةٌ بَاقِيَةٌ بِفَضْلِ اخْتِيَارِ النِّعْمَة. 6 فإِذَا كَانَ الاخْتِيَارُ بِالنِّعْمَة، فَلَيْسَ هُوَ إِذًا مِنَ الأَعَمَال، وإِلاَّ فَمَا عَادَتِ النِّعْمَةُ نِعْمَة. 7 فمَاذَا إِذًا؟ إِنَّ مَا يَطْلُبُهُ إِسْرَائِيلُ لَمْ يَنَلْهُ، بَلْ نَالَهُ الـمُخْتَارُون. أَمَّا البَاقُونَ فَتَصَلَّبَتْ قُلُوبُهُم، 8 كَمَا هُوَ مَكْتُوب: "أَعْطَاهُمُ اللهُ رُوحَ خُمُول، وأَعْطَاهُم عُيُونًا كَيْ لا يُبْصِرُوا، وآذَانًا كَيْ لا يَسْمَعُوا، إِلى هـذَا اليَوم". 9 ودَاوُدُ يَقُول: "لِتَكُنْ مَائِدَتُهُم فَخًّا وَشَرَكًا وَعِثَارًا وجَزَاءً لَهُم! 10 وَلْتُظْلِمْ عُيُونُهُم فَلا يُبْصِرُوا، وَلْتَكُن ظُهُورُهُم دَوْمًا مَحْنِيَّة!". 11 إِذًا أَقُول: "أَلَعَلَّهُم عَثَرُوا لِيَسْقُطُوا عَلى الدَّوَام؟ حَاشَا! وَلـكِنْ بِزَلَّتِهِم نَالَ الأُمَمُ الـخَلاص، لِكَي يُثِيرُوا غَيْرَةَ بَني إِسْرَائِيل. 12 فإِنْ كَانَتْ زَلَّتُهُم غِنًى لِلعَالَم، ونُقْصَانُهُم غِنًى لِلأُمَم، فَكَم يَكُونُ بالأَحْرَى اكْتِمَالُهُم؟
Evangile Arabic	11 فَكَانَ اليَهُودُ يَطْلُبُونَهُ في العِيد، ويَقُولُون : "أَيْنَ هُوَ ذَاك؟". 12 وكَانَ في الـجَمْعِ تَهَامُسٌ كَثِيرٌ في شَأْنِهِ. كَانَ بَعْضُهُم يَقُول :"إِنَّهُ صَالِح"، وآخَرُونَ يَقُولُون :"لا، بَلْ هُوَ يُضَلِّلُ الـجَمْع". 13 ومَا كَانَ أَحَدٌ يَتَكَلَّمُ عَنْهُ عَلَنًا، خَوْفًا مِنَ اليَهُود. 14 وفي مُنْتَصَفِ أيَّامِ العِيد، صَعِدَ يَسُوعُ إِلى الـهَيْكَل، وأَخَذَ يُعَلِّم. 15 وكَانَ اليَهُودُ يَتَعَجَّبُونَ قَائِلين :"كَيْفَ يَعْرِفُ الكُتُب، وهُوَ مَا تَعَلَّم؟". 16 فَأَجَابَهُم يَسُوعُ وقَال :"لَيْسَ التَّعْلِيمُ تَعْلِيمي، بَلْ تَعْلِيمُ مَنْ أَرْسَلَنِي. 17 مَنْ يَشَاءُ أَنْ يَعْمَلَ مَشِيئَةَ مَنْ أَرْسَلَنِي يَعْرِفُ هَلْ هـذَا التَّعْلِيمُ هُوَ مِنْ عِنْدِ الله، أَمْ أَنِّي مِنْ تِلْقَاءِ نَفْسِي أَتَكَلَّم. 18 مَنْ يَتَكَلَّمُ مِنْ تِلْقَاءِ نَفْسِهِ يَطْلُبُ مَجْدَ نَفْسِهِ. ومَنْ يَطْلُبُ مَجْدَ مَنْ أَرْسَلَهُ فَهُوَ صَادِقٌ لا ظُلْمَ فِيه.

Lecture French	01 Je pose donc la question : Dieu a-t-il rejeté son peuple ? Pas du tout ! Moi-même, en effet, je suis Israélite, de la descendance d’Abraham, de la tribu de Benjamin. 02 Dieu n’a pas rejeté son peuple, que, d’avance, il connaissait. Ne savez-vous pas ce que dit l’Écriture dans l’histoire d’Élie lorsqu’il en appelle à Dieu contre Israël ? Il disait : 03 Seigneur, ils ont tué tes prophètes et renversé tes autels ; je suis le seul à être resté, et ils en veulent à ma vie. 04 Mais quelle est la réponse divine ? Je me suis réservé sept mille hommes qui n’ont pas fléchi le genou devant Baal. 05 De la même manière, il y a donc aussi dans le temps présent un reste choisi par grâce. 06 Et si c’est par grâce, ce n’est pas par les œuvres ; autrement, la grâce ne serait plus la grâce. 07 Que dire alors ? Ce qu’Israël recherche, il ne l’a pas obtenu ; mais ceux qui ont été choisis l’ont obtenu, tandis que les autres ont été endurcis, 08 comme le dit l'Écriture : Dieu leur a donné un esprit de torpeur, des yeux pour ne pas voir et des oreilles pour ne pas entendre, jusqu’au jour d’aujourd’hui. 09 Et David ajoute : Que leur table devienne un piège, une trappe, une occasion de chute, une juste rétribution ; 10 que leurs yeux s’obscurcissent pour qu’ils ne voient plus, fais-leur sans cesse courber le dos. 11 Je pose encore une question : ceux d’Israël ont-ils trébuché pour vraiment tomber ? Pas du tout ! Mais leur faute procure aux nations païennes le salut, pour qu’ils en deviennent jaloux. 12 Or, si leur faute a été richesse pour le monde, si leur amoindrissement a été richesse pour les nations, combien plus le sera leur rassemblement !
Evangile French	11 Les Juifs le cherchaient pendant la fête, en disant : « Où donc est-il ? » 12 On discutait beaucoup à son sujet dans la foule. Tandis que les uns disaient : « C’est un homme de bien », d’autres répliquaient : « Mais non, il égare la foule. » 13 Toutefois, personne ne parlait ouvertement de lui, par crainte des Juifs. 14 On était déjà au milieu de la semaine de la fête quand Jésus monta au Temple ; et là il enseignait. 15 Les Juifs s’étonnaient et disaient : « Comment est-il instruit sans avoir étudié ? » 16 Jésus leur répondit : « Mon enseignement n’est pas de moi, mais de Celui qui m’a envoyé. 17 Quelqu’un veut-il faire la volonté de Dieu, il saura si cet enseignement vient de Dieu, ou si je parle de ma propre initiative. 18 Si quelqu’un parle de sa propre initiative, il cherche sa gloire personnelle ; mais si quelqu’un cherche la gloire de celui qui l’a envoyé, celui-là est vrai et il n’y a pas d’imposture en lui.

Lecture English	1 I ask, then, has God rejected his people? Of course not!a For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.b 2 God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Do you not know what the scripture says about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel? 3 “Lord, they have killed your prophets, they have torn down your altars, and I alone am left, and they are seeking my life.”c 4 But what is God’s response to him? “I have left for myself seven thousand men who have not knelt to Baal.”d 5 So also at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace.e 6 But if by grace, it is no longer because of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.f 7 What then? What Israel was seeking it did not attain, but the elect attained it; the rest were hardened,g 8 as it is written: “God gave them a spirit of deep sleep, eyes that should not see and ears that should not hear, down to this very day.”h 9 And David says:i “Let their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them; 10 let their eyes grow dim so that they may not see, and keep their backs bent forever.” The Gentiles’ Salvation. 11 * Hence I ask, did they stumble so as to fall? Of course not! But through their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make them jealous.j 12 Now if their transgression is enrichment for the world, and if their diminished number is enrichment for the Gentiles, how much more their full number.
Evangile English	11 The Jews were looking for him at the feast and saying, “Where is he?” 12 And there was considerable murmuring about him in the crowds. Some said, “He is a good man,” [while] others said, “No; on the contrary, he misleads the crowd.” 13 Still, no one spoke openly about him because they were afraid of the Jews.e The First Dialogue.* 14 When the feast was already half over, Jesus went up into the temple area and began to teach. 15 * f The Jews were amazed and said, “How does he know scripture without having studied?” 16 Jesus answered them and said, “My teaching is not my own but is from the one who sent me. 17 Whoever chooses to do his will* shall know whether my teaching is from God or whether I speak on my own.g 18 Whoever speaks on his own seeks his own glory, but whoever seeks the glory of the one who sent him is truthful, and there is no wrong in him.
