Lecture Arabic	1 ثُمَّ بَعْدَ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَة، صَعِدْتُ مِن جَدِيدٍ إِلى أُورَشَلِيمَ معَ بَرنَابَا، وأَخَذْتُ مَعي طِيطُسَ أَيْضًا. 2 وكَانَ صُعُودي إِلَيْهَا بِوَحيٍ. وعَرَضْتُ عَلى انْفِرَادٍ أَمَامَ أَعْيَانِ الكَنِيسَةِ الإِنْجِيلَ الَّذي أَكرِزُ بِهِ بَيْنَ الأُمَم، لِئَلاَّ أَسْعَى أَو أَكُونَ قَدْ سَعَيْتُ بَاطِلاً! 3 وإِنَّ طِيطُسَ نَفْسَهُ الَّذي كَانَ مَعي، وهُوَ يُونَانِيّ، لَمْ يُلْزَمْ بِالـخِتَانَة، 4 بِرَغْمِ الإِخوَةِ الكذَّابِينَ الدُّخَلاء، الَّذِينَ انْدَسُّوا خِلْسَةً لِكَي يتَجَسَّسُوا حُرِّيَّتَنَا، الَّتي نَحْنُ عَلَيْهَا في الـمَسِيحِ يَسُوع، حَتَّى يَسْتَعْبِدُونَا. 5 فَمَا اسْتَسْلَمْنَا ولا خَضَعْنَا لَهُم ولا سَاعَة، لِكَي تَدُومَ لَكُم حَقِيقَةُ الإِنْجِيل. 6 أَمَّا الَّذِينَ يُعْتَبَرُونَ مِنَ الأَعْيَان - ومَهْمَا كَانُوا قَبْلاً فَلا يَعْنِينِي، لأَنَّ اللهَ لا يُحَابِي وجُوهَ النَّاس! - فإِنَّهُم لَمْ يَفرِضُوا عَلَيَّ شَيْئًا، 7 بَل بِالعَكْسِ رَأَوا أَنِّي ائْتُمِنْتُ على تَبْشِيرِ غَيرِ الـمَختُونِين، كَمَا ائْتُمِنَ بُطْرُسُ عَلى تَبْشِيرِ الـمَختُونِين؛ 8 لأَنَّ الَّذي عَمِلَ في بُطرُسَ لِيَكُونَ رَسُولاً لأَهْلِ الـخِتَانَة، عَمِلَ فِيَّ أَيْضًا لأَكُونَ رَسُولاً لِلأُمَم؛ 9 فلَمَّا عَرَفَ يَعقُوبُ وكِيفَا ويُوحَنَّا، الَّذِينَ يُعْتَبَرُونَ أَعْمِدَةَ الكَنِيسَة، النِّعْمَةَ الَّتي وُهِبَتْ لي، مَدُّوا إِلَيَّ وإِلَى بَرْنَابَا يُمْنَى الـمُشَارَكَة، لِنَكُونَ نَحْنُ لِلأُمَم، وهُم لأَهْلِ الـخِتَانَة، 10 على أَن نَتَذَكَّرَ الفُقَرَاء، وهـذَا مَا اجْتَهَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُومَ بِهِ.
Evangile Arabic	1 بَعْدَ أَنْ أَكْمَلَ يَسوعُ كَلامَهُ كُلَّهُ عَلى مَسَامِعِ الشَّعْب، دَخَلَ كَفَرنَاحُوم. 2 وكَانَ لِقائِدِ مِئَةٍ خَادِمٌ بِهِ سُوء، وقَدْ أَشْرَفَ عَلى الـمَوت، وكَانَ عَزيزًا عَلَيه. 3 وَسَمِعَ بِيَسوعَ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيهِ بَعْضَ شَيُوخِ اليَهُود، يَسْأَلُهُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ ويُنقِذَ خَادِمَهُ. 4 فَأَقْبَلُوا إِلى يَسُوع، وأَلَحُّوا يَتَوسَّلُونَ إِلَيهِ قَائِلين: "إنَّهُ مُسْتَحِقٌّ أَنْ تَصْنَعَ لَهُ هـذَا، 5 لأَنَّهُ يُحِبُّ أُمَّتنَا، وَقَد بَنَى لَنَا الـمَجْمَع". 6 فَمَضَى يَسُوعُ مَعَهُم. ومَا إنْ صَارَ غَيرَ بَعِيدٍ عَنِ البَيْت، حَتَّى أَرْسَلَ إِلَيهِ قَائِدُ الـمِئَةِ بَعْضَ أَصْدقَائِهِ، يَقولُ لَهُ: "يا رَبّ، لا تُزعِجْ نَفْسَكَ، لأَنِّي لَسْتُ أَهْلاً أَنْ تَدْخُلَ تَحْتَ سَقْفي. 7 لِذـلِكَ لَمْ أَحسَبْ نَفْسي مُسْتَحِقًّا أَنْ آتِيَ إِلَيْك، لـكِنْ قُلْ كَلِمَةً فَيُشْفَى فَتَاي. 8 فَإنِّي أَنا أَيْضًا رَجُلٌ خَاضِعٌ لِسُلْطان، وَلِي جُنُودٌ تَحْتَ إِمْرَتي، فَأَقولُ لِهـذَا: اذْهَب! فَيَذْهَبْ، وَلآخَرَ: ائْتِ! فَيَأْتي، وَلِخَادِمِي: افْعَلْ هـذَا! فَيَفْعَل". 9 وَلَمَّا سَمِعَ يَسوعُ أُعْجِبَ بِه، والتَفَتَ إِلى الـجَمْعِ الَّذي يَتْبَعُهُ فَقاَل: "أَقولُ لَكُم: لَمْ أَجِدْ مِثْلَ هـذَا الإِيْمَانِ حَتَّى في إِسْرائِيل". 10 وَعَاد الـمُرْسَلُونَ إِلى البَيْت، فَوَجَدُوا الـخَادِمَ مُعَافَى.

Lecture French	01 Puis, au bout de quatorze ans, je suis de nouveau monté à Jérusalem ; j’étais avec Barnabé, et j’avais aussi emmené Tite. 02 J’y montais à la suite d’une révélation, et j’y ai exposé l’Évangile que je proclame parmi les nations ; je l’ai exposé en privé, aux personnages les plus importants, car je ne voulais pas risquer de courir ou d’avoir couru pour rien. 03 Eh bien ! Tite, mon compagnon, qui est grec, n’a même pas été obligé de se faire circoncire. 04 Il y avait pourtant les faux frères, ces intrus, qui s’étaient infiltrés comme des espions pour voir quelle liberté nous avons dans le Christ Jésus, leur but étant de nous réduire en esclavage ; 05 mais, pas un seul instant, nous n’avons accepté de nous soumettre à eux, afin de maintenir pour vous la vérité de l’Évangile. 06 Quant à ceux qui étaient tenus pour importants – mais ce qu’ils étaient alors ne compte guère pour moi, car Dieu est impartial envers les personnes –, ces gens importants ne m’ont imposé aucune obligation supplémentaire, 07 mais au contraire, ils ont constaté que l’annonce de l’Évangile m’a été confiée pour les incirconcis (c’est-à-dire les païens), comme elle l’a été à Pierre pour les circoncis (c’est-à-dire les Juifs). 08 En effet, si l’action de Dieu a fait de Pierre l’Apôtre des circoncis, elle a fait de moi l’Apôtre des nations païennes. 09 Ayant reconnu la grâce qui m’a été donnée, Jacques, Pierre et Jean, qui sont considérés comme les colonnes de l’Église, nous ont tendu la main, à moi et à Barnabé, en signe de communion, montrant par là que nous sommes, nous, envoyés aux nations, et eux, aux circoncis. 10 Ils nous ont seulement demandé de nous souvenir des pauvres, ce que j’ai pris grand soin de faire.
Evangile French	01 Lorsque Jésus eut achevé de faire entendre au peuple toutes ses paroles, il entra dans Capharnaüm. 02 Il y avait un centurion dont un esclave était malade et sur le point de mourir ; or le centurion tenait beaucoup à lui. 03 Ayant entendu parler de Jésus, il lui envoya des notables juifs pour lui demander de venir sauver son esclave. 04 Arrivés près de Jésus, ceux-ci le suppliaient instamment : « Il mérite que tu lui accordes cela. 05 Il aime notre nation : c’est lui qui nous a construit la synagogue. » 06 Jésus était en route avec eux, et déjà il n’était plus loin de la maison, quand le centurion envoya des amis lui dire : « Seigneur, ne prends pas cette peine, car je ne suis pas digne que tu entres sous mon toit. 07 C’est pourquoi je ne me suis pas autorisé, moi-même, à venir te trouver. Mais dis une parole, et que mon serviteur soit guéri ! 08 Moi, je suis quelqu’un de subordonné à une autorité, mais j’ai des soldats sous mes ordres ; à l’un, je dis : “Va”, et il va ; à un autre : “Viens”, et il vient ; et à mon esclave : “Fais ceci”, et il le fait. » 09 Entendant cela, Jésus fut en admiration devant lui. Il se retourna et dit à la foule qui le suivait : « Je vous le déclare, même en Israël, je n’ai pas trouvé une telle foi ! » 10 Revenus à la maison, les envoyés trouvèrent l’esclave en bonne santé.

Lecture English	1 Then after fourteen years I again went up to Jerusalem with Barnabas,* taking Titus along also.a 2 I went up in accord with a revelation,* and I presented to them the gospel that I preach to the Gentiles—but privately to those of repute—so that I might not be running, or have run, in vain.b 3 Moreover, not even* Titus, who was with me, although he was a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised,c 4 but because of the false brothers* secretly brought in, who slipped in to spy on our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus,d that they might enslave us— 5 to them we did not submit even for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel* might remain intact for you.e 6 But from those who were reputed to be important (what they once were makes no difference to me; God shows no partiality)—those of repute made me add nothing.f 7 * On the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter to the circumcised,g 8 for the one who worked in Peter for an apostolate to the circumcised worked also in me for the Gentiles, 9 and when they recognized the grace bestowed upon me, James and Cephas and John,* who were reputed to be pillars, gave me and Barnabas their right hands in partnership, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.h 10 Only, we were to be mindful of the poor,* which is the very thing I was eager to do.i
Evangile English	1 * When he had finished all his words to the people, he entered Capernaum.* 2 A centurion* there had a slave who was ill and about to die, and he was valuable to him. 3 When he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and save the life of his slave. 4 They approached Jesus and strongly urged him to come, saying, “He deserves to have you do this for him, 5 for he loves our nation and he built the synagogue for us.” 6 And Jesus went with them, but when he was only a short distance from the house, the centurion sent friends to tell him, “Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof.* 7 Therefore, I did not consider myself worthy to come to you; but say the word and let my servant be healed. 8 For I too am a person subject to authority, with soldiers subject to me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come here,’ and he comes; and to my slave, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 9 When Jesus heard this he was amazed at him and, turning, said to the crowd following him, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.” 10 When the messengers returned to the house, they found the slave in good health.
