Lecture Arabic	17 ثِقُوا بِمُدَبِّرِيكُم، واخْضَعُوا لَهُم، فإِنَّهُم يَسْهَرُونَ على نُفُوسِكُم سَهَرَ مَنْ سَيُؤَدِّي حِسَابًا، حَتَّى يَصْنَعُوا ذـلِكَ فَرِحِينَ لا مُتَذَمِّرِين، فَالتَّذَمُّرُ خِسَارَةٌ لَكُم! 18 صَلُّوا مِن أَجْلِنَا، فَإِنَّنَا واثِقُونَ أَنَّ ضَمِيرَنَا صَالِح، ونَحْنُ نُرِيدُ أَنْ نَسْلُكَ مَسْلَكًا حَسَنًا في كُلِّ شَيء. 19 وأَطلُبُ إِلَيكُم بإِلْحَاحٍ أَنْ تَفْعَلُوا ذـلِكَ، حَتَّى يَرُدَّنِي اللهُ إِلَيْكُم سَرِيعًا! 20 وإِلـهُ السَّلام، الَّذي أَصْعَدَ مِنْ بَينِ الأَمْوَاتِ رَبَّنَا يَسُوع، رَاعِيَ الـخِرَافِ العَظِيمَ بِدَمِ عَهْدٍ أَبَدِيّ، 21 هُوَ يَجْعَلُكُم كَامِلِينَ في كُلِّ صَلاح، لِتَعْمَلُوا بِمَشيئَتِهِ، وهُوَ يَعْمَلُ فينَا مَا هُوَ مَرْضِيٌّ في عَيْنَيه، بِيَسُوعَ الـمَسِيح، لهُ الـمَجْدُ إِلى أَبَدِ الآبِدِين. آمين. 22 وأُنَاشِدُكُم، أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَة، أَنْ تحْتَمِلُوا كَلامَ التَّشْجِيع، فَإِنِّي كَتَبْتُ إِلَيْكُم بإِيْجاز! 23 إِعْلَمُوا أَنَّ أَخَانَا طِيمُوتَاوُسَ قد أُخْلِيَ سَبِيلُهُ. فَإِنْ أَسْرَعَ في مَجِيئِهِ، سَأَذْهَبُ مَعَهُ وأَرَاكُم. 24 سَلِّمُوا عَلى جَمِيعِ مُدَبِّرِيكُم وجَمِيعِ القِدِّيسِين. يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيكُم الإِخْوَةُ الَّذِينَ في إِيطالِيا. 25 أَلنِّعْمَةُ مَعَكُم أَجْمَعِين!
Evangile Arabic	38 سَمِعْتُم أَنَّهُ قِيْل: أَلْعَيْنُ بِالعَين، والسِّنُّ بِالسِّنّ. 39 أَمَّا أَنَا فَأَقُولُ لَكُم: لا تُقَاوِمُوا الشِّرِّير، بَلْ مَنْ لَطَمَكَ عَلى خَدِّكَ الأَيْمَن، فَحَوِّلْ لَهُ الآخَرَ أَيضًا. 40 ومَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُحَاكِمَكَ لِيَأْخُذَ قَمِيصَكَ، فَاتْرُكْ لَهُ رِدَاءَكَ أَيْضًا. 41 ومَنْ سَخَّرَكَ مِيلاً واحِدًا، فَاذْهَبْ مَعَهُ مِيلَين. 42 مَنْ يَسْأَلُكَ فَأَعْطِهِ، ومَنْ يُريدُ أَنْ يَقْتَرِضَ مِنْكَ فَلا تُحَوِّلْ وَجْهَكَ عَنْهُ. 43 سَمِعْتُم أَنَّه قِيل: أَحْبِبْ قَريبَكَ وأَبْغِضْ عَدُوَّكَ. 44 أَمَّا أَنَا فَأَقُولُ لَكُم: أَحِبُّوا أَعْدَاءَكُم، وصَلُّوا مِنْ أَجْلِ مُضْطَهِدِيكُم، 45 لِتَكُونُوا أَبْنَاءَ أَبيكُمُ الَّذي في السَّمَاوَات، لأَنَّه يُشْرِقُ بِشَمْسِهِ عَلى الأَشْرَارِ والأَخْيَار، ويَسْكُبُ غَيْثَهُ عَلى الأَبْرَارِ والفُجَّار. 46 فَإِنْ أَحْبَبْتُمُ الَّذينَ يُحِبُّونَكُم، فَأَيُّ أَجْرٍ لَكُم؟ أَلَيْسَ العَشَّارُونَ أَنْفُسُهُم يَفْعَلُونَ ذـلِكَ؟ 47 وإِنْ سَلَّمْتُمْ عَلى إِخْوَتِكُم وَحْدَهُم، فَأَيَّ فَضْلٍ عَمِلْتُم؟ أَلَيْسَ الوَثَنِيُّونَ أَنْفُسُهُم يَفْعَلُونَ ذـلِكَ؟ 48 فَكُونُوا أَنْتُمْ كَامِلِين، كمَا أَنَّ أَبَاكُمُ السَّمَاوِيَّ هُوَ كَامِل.

Lecture French	17 Faites confiance à ceux qui vous dirigent et soyez-leur soumis ; en effet, ils sont là pour veiller sur vos âmes, ce dont ils auront à rendre compte. Ainsi, ils accompliront leur tâche avec joie, sans avoir à se plaindre, ce qui ne vous serait d’aucun profit. 18 Priez pour nous ; en effet, nous sommes convaincus d’avoir une conscience pure, puisque nous voulons en toute circonstance avoir une bonne conduite. 19 Je vous demande instamment de le faire, pour que je vous sois rendu plus vite. 20 Que le Dieu de la paix, lui qui a fait remonter d’entre les morts, grâce au sang de l’Alliance éternelle, le berger des brebis, le Pasteur par excellence, notre Seigneur Jésus, 21 que ce Dieu vous forme en tout ce qui est bon pour accomplir sa volonté, qu’il réalise en nous ce qui est agréable à ses yeux, par Jésus Christ, à qui appartient la gloire pour les siècles des siècles. Amen. 22 Je vous invite, frères, à supporter cette parole d’exhortation. D’ailleurs, je ne vous envoie que quelques mots. 23 Sachez que notre frère Timothée est libéré. J’irai vous voir avec lui s’il vient assez vite. 24 Saluez tous ceux qui vous dirigent et tous les fidèles. Ceux d’Italie vous saluent. 25 La grâce soit avec vous tous.
Evangile French	38 Vous avez appris qu’il a été dit : Œil pour œil, et dent pour dent. 39 Eh bien ! moi, je vous dis de ne pas riposter au méchant ; mais si quelqu’un te gifle sur la joue droite, tends-lui encore l’autre. 40 Et si quelqu’un veut te poursuivre en justice et prendre ta tunique, laisse-lui encore ton manteau. 41 Et si quelqu’un te réquisitionne pour faire mille pas, fais-en deux mille avec lui. 42 À qui te demande, donne ; à qui veut t’emprunter, ne tourne pas le dos ! 43 Vous avez appris qu’il a été dit : Tu aimeras ton prochain et tu haïras ton ennemi. 44 Eh bien ! moi, je vous dis : Aimez vos ennemis, et priez pour ceux qui vous persécutent, 45 afin d’être vraiment les fils de votre Père qui est aux cieux ; car il fait lever son soleil sur les méchants et sur les bons, il fait tomber la pluie sur les justes et sur les injustes. 46 En effet, si vous aimez ceux qui vous aiment, quelle récompense méritez-vous ? Les publicains eux-mêmes n’en font-ils pas autant ? 47 Et si vous ne saluez que vos frères, que faites-vous d’extraordinaire ? Les païens eux-mêmes n’en font-ils pas autant ? 48 Vous donc, vous serez parfaits comme votre Père céleste est parfait.

Lecture English	17 * Obey your leaders and defer to them, for they keep watch over you and will have to give an account, that they may fulfill their task with joy and not with sorrow, for that would be of no advantage to you. 18 Pray for us, for we are confident that we have a clear conscience, wishing to act rightly in every respect. 19 I especially ask for your prayers that I may be restored to you very soon. 20 * May the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep by the blood of the eternal covenant, Jesus our Lord,m 21 furnish you with all that is good, that you may do his will. May he carry out in you what is pleasing to him through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever [and ever]. Amen. 22 Brothers, I ask you to bear with this message of encouragement, for I have written to you rather briefly. 23 I must let you know that our brother Timothy has been set free. If he comes soon, I shall see you together with him.n 24 Greetings to all your leaders and to all the holy ones. Those from Italy send you greetings. 25 Grace be with all of you.o

When someone strikes you on [your] right cheek, turn the other one to him as well. 40 If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand him your cloak as well. 41 Should anyone press you into service for one mile,* go with him for two miles.z 42 Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow.a Love of Enemies.* 43 b “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’c 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors* do the same? 47 And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same?* 48 So be perfect,* just as your heavenly Father is perfect.d
