Lecture Arabic	14 فنَحْنُ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّ الشَّرِيعَةَ رُوحِيَّة، أَمَّا أَنَا فإِنْسَانٌ جَسَدِيٌ مُبَاعٌ لِلخَطِيئَة. 15 فَإِنِّي لا أَفْهَمُ مَا أَعْمَلُهُ، لأَنَّ مَا أُرِيدُهُ لا أَفْعَلُهُ، ومَا أَكْرَهُهُ إِيَّاهُ أَفْعَل. 16 فإِنْ كُنْتُ أَفْعَلُ مَا لا أُرِيدُهُ، فأَنَا شَاهِدٌ لِلشَّرِيعَةِ بأَنَّهَا حَسَنَة. 17 فلَسْتُ أَنَا الآنَ مَنْ يَفْعَلُ ذـلِكَ، بَلِ الـخَطيئَةُ السَّاكِنَةُ فِيَّ. 18 فإِنِّي أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ الصَّلاحَ لا يَسْكُنُ فِيَّ أَنَا الإِنْسَانَ الـجَسَدِيّ، لأَنَّ إِرَادَةَ الـخَيرِ حَاضِرَةٌ فِيَّ، أَمَّا عَمَلُ الـخَيرِ فَلا؛ 19 لأَنَّ الـخَيرَ الَّذي أُرِيدُهُ لا أَفْعَلُهُ، والشَرَّ الَّذي لا أُريدُهُ إِيَّاهُ أَفْعَل. 20 وَإِنْ كُنْتُ أَفْعَلُ مَا لا أُريدُهُ، فَلَسْتُ أَنَا بَعْدُ مَنْ يَفْعَلُ هـذَا، بَلِ الـخَطيئَةُ السَّاكِنَةُ فِيَّ. 21 إِذًا فأَنَا الَّذي أُريدُ فِعْلَ الـخَير، أَجِدُ فِيَّ هـذِهِ الشَّرِيعَة، وهيَ أَنَّ الشَرَّ حَاضِرٌ فِيَّ. 22 وَإِنِّي أَفْرَحُ بِشَرِيعَةِ اللهِ في عُمْقِ كِيَاني. 23 لـكِنِّي أَرَى في أَعْضَائي شَرِيعَةً أُخْرَى تُحَارِبُ شَرِيعَةَ عَقْلي، وتَأْسُرُني في شَرِيعَةِ الـخَطِيئَةِ الكَامِنَةِ في أَعْضَائِي. 24 أَلوَيْلُ لي أَنَا الإِنْسَانَ التَّعِيس! مَنْ يُنْقِذُني مِنْ جَسَدِ الـمَوْتِ هـذَا؟ 25 فَالشُّكْرُ للهِ بِيَسُوعَ الـمَسِيحِ رَبِّنَا! فأَنَا إِذًا بِالعَقْلِ عَبْدٌ لِشَرِيعَةِ الله، وَبِكَوْني إِنْسَانًا جَسَدِيًّا عَبْدٌ لِشَرِيعَةِ الـخَطِيئَة!
Evangile Arabic	39 فَآمَنَ بِيَسُوعَ سَامِرِيُّونَ كَثِيرُونَ مِنْ أَهْلِ تِلْكَ الـمَدِينَة، مِنْ أَجْلِ كَلامِ الـمَرْأَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ تَشْهَد: "إِنَّهُ قَالَ لِي كُلَّ مَا فَعَلْتُ". 40 فَلَمَّا جَاءَ السَّامِرِيُّونَ إِلَيْه، سَأَلُوهُ أَنْ يُقِيمَ عِنْدَهُم، فَأَقَامَ يَومَين. 41 وآمَنَ عَدَدٌ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ أَجْلِ كَلِمَتِهِ. 42 وكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ لِلْمَرْأَة: "مَا عُدْنَا مِنْ أَجْلِ كَلامِكِ نُؤْمِن، فَنَحْنُ قَدْ سَمِعْنَاه، ونَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هـذَا هُوَ حَقًّا مُخَلِّصُ العَالَم".

Lecture French	14 Nous savons bien que la Loi est une réalité spirituelle : mais moi, je suis un homme charnel, vendu au péché. 15 En effet, ma façon d’agir, je ne la comprends pas, car ce que je voudrais, cela, je ne le réalise pas ; mais ce que je déteste, c’est cela que je fais. 16 Or, si je ne veux pas le mal que je fais, je suis d’accord avec la Loi : je reconnais qu’elle est bonne. 17 Mais en fait, ce n’est plus moi qui agis, c’est le péché, lui qui habite en moi. 18 Je sais que le bien n’habite pas en moi, c’est-à-dire dans l’être de chair que je suis. En effet, ce qui est à ma portée, c’est de vouloir le bien, mais pas de l’accomplir. 19 Je ne fais pas le bien que je voudrais, mais je commets le mal que je ne voudrais pas. 20 Si je fais le mal que je ne voudrais pas, alors ce n’est plus moi qui agis ainsi, mais c’est le péché, lui qui habite en moi. 21 Moi qui voudrais faire le bien, je constate donc, en moi, cette loi : ce qui est à ma portée, c’est le mal. 22 Au plus profond de moi-même, je prends plaisir à la loi de Dieu. 23 Mais, dans les membres de mon corps, je découvre une autre loi, qui combat contre la loi que suit ma raison et me rend prisonnier de la loi du péché présente dans mon corps. 24 Malheureux homme que je suis ! Qui donc me délivrera de ce corps qui m’entraîne à la mort ? 25 Mais grâce soit rendue à Dieu par Jésus Christ notre Seigneur ! Ainsi, moi, par ma raison, je suis au service de la loi de Dieu, et, par ma nature charnelle, au service de la loi du péché. Premier
Evangile French	39 Beaucoup de Samaritains de cette ville crurent en Jésus, à cause de la parole de la femme qui rendait ce témoignage : « Il m’a dit tout ce que j’ai fait. » 40 Lorsqu’ils arrivèrent auprès de lui, ils l’invitèrent à demeurer chez eux. Il y demeura deux jours. 41 Ils furent encore beaucoup plus nombreux à croire à cause de sa parole à lui, 42 et ils disaient à la femme : « Ce n’est plus à cause de ce que tu nous as dit que nous croyons : nous-mêmes, nous l’avons entendu, et nous savons que c’est vraiment lui le Sauveur du monde. »

Lecture English	14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold into slavery to sin.j 15 What I do, I do not understand. For I do not do what I want, but I do what I hate. 16 Now if I do what I do not want, I concur that the law is good. 17 So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 18 For I know that good does not dwell in me, that is, in my flesh. The willing is ready at hand, but doing the good is not.k 19 For I do not do the good I want, but I do the evil I do not want. 20 Now if [I] do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 21 So, then, I discover the principle that when I want to do right, evil is at hand. 22 For I take delight in the law of God, in my inner self, 23 l but I see in my members another principle at war with the law of my mind, taking me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members.* 24 Miserable one that I am! Who will deliver me from this mortal body? 25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, I myself, with my mind, serve the law of God but, with my flesh, the law of sin.m
Evangile English	39 Many of the Samaritans of that town began to believe in him because of the word of the woman* who testified, “He told me everything I have done.” 40 When the Samaritans came to him, they invited him to stay with them; and he stayed there two days. 41 Many more began to believe in him because of his word, 42 and they said to the woman, “We no longer believe because of your word; for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is truly the savior of the world.”q
