Lecture Arabic	4 إِنَّ لي عَلَيْكُم دَالَّةً كَبِيرَة، ولي بِكُم فَخْرًا عَظِيمًا. وَلَقَدِ امْتَلأَتُ تَعْزِيَة، وأَنَا أَفِيضُ فَرَحًا في ضِيقِنَا كُلِّهِ. 5 فإِنَّنَا لَمَّا وَصَلْنَا إِلى مَقْدَونِيَة، لَمْ يَكُنْ لِجَسَدِنَا شَيءٌ مِنَ الرَّاحَة، بَلْ كُنَّا مُتَضَايِقِينَ في كُلِّ شَيء، صِرَاعٌ مِنَ الـخَارِج، وخَوفٌ مِنَ الدَّاخِل! 6 لـكِنَّ اللهَ الَّذي يُعَزِّي الـمُتَوَاضِعِينَ عَزَّانا بِمَجِيءِ طِيْطُس، 7 لا بِمَجِيئِهِ فَحَسْب، بَلْ أَيْضًا بِالتَّعْزِيَةِ الَّتي تَعَزَّاهَا بِكُم. وقَدْ أَخْبَرَنَا بِاشْتِيَاقِكُم إِلَيْنَا، وحُزْنِكُم، وغَيْرَتِكُم عَلَيَّ، حَتَّى إِنِّي ازْدَدْتُ فَرَحًا. 8 وإِذَا كُنْتُ قَدْ أَحْزَنْتُكُم بِرِسَالتِي فَلَسْتُ نَادِمًا عَلى ذـلِكَ، معَ أَنَّنِي كُنْتُ قَدْ نَدِمْتُ، لأَنِّي أَرَى أَنَّ تِلْكَ الرِّسَالَة، ولَوْ أَحْزَنَتْكُم إِلى حِين، 9 قَدْ سَبَّبَتْ لي فَرَحًا كَثِيرًا، لا لأَنَّكُم حَزِنْتُم، بَلْ لأَنَّ حُزْنَكُم أَدَّى بِكُم إِلى التَّوبَة. فَقَدْ حَزِنْتُم حُزْنًا مُرْضِيًا لله، كَيْ لا تَخْسَرُوا بِسَبَبِنَا في أَيِّ شَيء؛ 10 لأَنَّ الـحُزْنَ الـمُرْضِيَ للهِ يَصْنَعُ تَوْبَةً لِلخَلاصِ لا نَدَمَ عَلَيْهَا، أَمَّا حُزْنُ العَالَمِ فَيَصْنَعُ مَوْتًا. 11 فَانْظُرُوا حُزْنَكُم هـذَا الـمُرْضِيَ للهِ كَم أَنْشَأَ فِيكُم مِنَ الاِجْتِهَاد، بَلْ مِنَ الاِعْتِذَار، بَلْ مِنَ الاِسْتِنْكَار، بَلْ مِنَ الـخَوْف، بَلْ مِنَ الشَّوْق، بَلْ مِنَ الغَيْرَة، بَلْ مِنَ الإِصْرَارِ عَلى العِقَاب! وقَدْ أَظْهَرْتُم أَنْفُسَكُم في كُلِّ ذـلِكَ أَنَّكُم أَبْرِيَاءُ مِنَ هـذَا الأَمْر.
Evangile Arabic	40 وَلَمَّا عَادَ يَسُوع، اسْتَقْبَلَهُ الـجَمْع، لأَنَّهُم جَميعَهُم كَانُوا يَنْتَظِرُونَهُ. 41 وَإِذَا بِرَجُلٍ اسْمُهُ يَائِيرُس، وكَانَ رَئِيسَ الـمَجْمَع، جَاءَ فارْتَمَى عَلَى قَدَمَي يَسُوع، وَأَخَذَ يَتَوَسَّلُ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بَيْتَهُ، 42 لأَنَّ لَهُ ابْنَةً وَحِيدَة، عُمْرُها نُحْوُ اثْنَتَي عَشْرَةَ سَنَة، قَدْ أَشْرَفَتْ عَلَى الـمَوْت. وفِيمَا هُوَ ذَاهِب، كانَ الـجُمُوعُ يَزْحَمُونَهُ. 43 وَكانَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مُصَابَةٌ بِنَزْفِ دَمٍ مُنْذُ اثْنَتَي عَشْرَةَ سَنَة، وَلَمْ يَقْدِرْ أَحَدٌ أَنْ يَشْفِيَهَا. 44 دَنَتْ مِنْ وَرَاءِ يَسُوع، وَلَمَسَتْ طَرَفَ رِدَائِهِ، وَفَجأَةً وَقَفَ نَزْفُ دَمِهَا. 45 فَقَالَ يَسُوع: "مَنْ لَمَسَنِي؟". وَأَنْكَرَ الـجَمِيع. فَقَالَ بُطْرُسُ وَمَنْ مَعَهُ: "يا مُعَلِّم، إِنَّ الـجُمُوعَ يَزْحَمُونَكَ وَيُضَايِقُونَكَ!". 46 فَقَالَ يَسُوع: "إِنَّ واحِدًا قَدْ لَمَسَنِي! فَإنِّي عَرَفْتُ أَنَّ قُوَّةً قَدْ خَرَجَتْ مِنِّي!". 47 وَرَأَتِ الـمَرْأَةُ أَنَّ أَمْرَها لَمْ يَخْفَ عَلَيه، فَدَنَتْ مُرْتَعِدَةً وارْتَمَتْ عَلَى قَدَمَيه، وَأَعْلَنَتْ أَمَامَ الشَّعْبِ كُلِّهِ لِماذَا لَمَسَتْهُ، وَكَيْفَ شُفِيَتْ لِلْحَال. 48 فَقَالَ لَهَا يَسُوع: "يا ابْنَتِي، إِيْمَانُكِ خَلَّصَكِ! إِذْهَبِي بِسَلام!". 49 وَفيمَا هُوَ يَتَكَلَّم، وَصَلَ وَاحِدٌ مِنْ دَارِ رَئِيسِ الـمَجْمَعِ يَقُول: "مَاتَتِ ابْنَتُكَ! فَلا تُزْعِجِ الـمُعَلِّم!". 50 وَسَمِعَ يَسوعُ فَأَجَابَهُ: "لا تَخَفْ! يَكْفي أَنْ تُؤْمِنَ فَتَحْيا ابْنَتُكَ!". 51 وَلَمَّا وَصَلَ إِلى البَيْت، لَمْ يَدَعْ أَحَدًا يَدْخُلُ مَعَهُ سِوَى بُطْرُسَ وَيُوحَنَّا وَيَعْقُوبَ وَأَبي الصَّبِيَّةِ وأُمِّهَا. 52 وكَانَ الـجَمِيعُ يَبْكُونَ عَلَيْها وَيَقْرَعُونَ صُدُورَهُم. فَقَال: "لا تَبْكُوا! إِنَّهَا لَمْ تَمُتْ. لـكِنَّهَا نَائِمَة!". 53 فَأَخَذُوا يَضْحَكُونَ مِنْهُ لِعِلْمِهِم بِأَنَّها مَاتَتْ. 54 أَمَّا هُوَ فَأَمْسَكَ بِيَدِها وَنَادَى قاَئِلاً: "أَيَّتُهَا الصَّبِيَّة، قُومِي!". 55 فَعَادَتْ رُوحُهَا إِلَيْهَا، وَفَجْأَةً نَهَضَتْ. ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِأَنْ يُطْعِمُوهَا. 56 فَدَهِشَ أَبَوَاها، وَأَوْصَاهُمَا يَسُوعُ أَلاَّ يُخْبِرَا أَحَدًا بِمَا حَدَث.

Lecture French	04 Grande est l’assurance que j’ai devant vous, grande est ma fierté à votre sujet, je me sens pleinement réconforté, je déborde de joie au milieu de toutes nos détresses. 05 En fait, à notre arrivée en Macédoine, dans notre faiblesse nous n’avons pas eu le moindre répit mais nous étions dans la détresse à tout moment : au-dehors, des conflits, et au-dedans, des craintes. 06 Pourtant, Dieu, lui qui réconforte les humbles, nous a réconfortés par la venue de Tite, 07 et non seulement par sa venue, mais par le réconfort qu’il avait trouvé chez vous : il nous a fait part de votre grand désir de nous revoir, de votre désolation, de votre zèle pour moi, et cela m’a donné encore plus de joie. 08 En effet, même si je vous ai attristés par ma lettre, je ne le regrette pas ; et même si j’ai pu le regretter – car je vois bien que cette lettre vous a attristés, au moins pour un moment –, 09 je me réjouis maintenant, non de ce que vous avez été attristés, mais parce que cette tristesse vous a conduits au repentir. En effet, elle a été vécue selon Dieu, si bien que vous n’avez subi aucun dommage à cause de nous. 10 Car une tristesse vécue selon Dieu produit un repentir qui mène au salut, sans causer de regrets, tandis que la tristesse selon le monde produit la mort. 11 Mais la tristesse vécue selon Dieu, voyez ce qu’elle a produit chez vous. Quel empressement ! Quelles excuses ! Quelle indignation ! Quelle crainte ! Quel désir ! Quel zèle ! Quelle juste punition ! En tous points, vous avez prouvé que vous étiez irréprochables dans cette affaire.
Evangile French	40 Quand Jésus revint en Galilée, il fut accueilli par la foule, car tous l’attendaient. 41 Et voici qu’arriva un homme du nom de Jaïre ; c’était le chef de la synagogue. Tombant aux pieds de Jésus, il le suppliait de venir dans sa maison, 42 parce qu’il avait une fille unique, d’environ douze ans, qui se mourait. Et tandis que Jésus s’y rendait, les foules le pressaient au point de l’étouffer. 43 Or, une femme qui avait des pertes de sang depuis douze ans, et qui avait dépensé tous ses biens chez les médecins sans que personne n’ait pu la guérir, 44 s’approcha de lui par-derrière et toucha la frange de son vêtement. À l’instant même, sa perte de sang s’arrêta. 45 Mais Jésus dit : « Qui m’a touché ? » Comme ils s’en défendaient tous, Pierre lui dit : « Maître, les foules te bousculent et t’écrasent. » 46 Mais Jésus reprit : « Quelqu’un m’a touché, car j’ai reconnu qu’une force était sortie de moi. » 47 La femme, se voyant découverte, vint, toute tremblante, se jeter à ses pieds ; elle raconta devant tout le peuple pourquoi elle l’avait touché, et comment elle avait été guérie à l’instant même. 48 Jésus lui dit : « Ma fille, ta foi t’a sauvée. Va en paix. » 49 Comme il parlait encore, quelqu’un arrive de la maison de Jaïre, le chef de synagogue, pour dire à celui-ci : « Ta fille est morte. Ne dérange plus le maître. » 50 Jésus, qui avait entendu, lui déclara : « Ne crains pas. Crois seulement, et elle sera sauvée. » 51 En arrivant à la maison, il ne laissa personne entrer avec lui, sauf Pierre, Jean et Jacques, ainsi que le père de l’enfant et sa mère. 52 Tous la pleuraient en se frappant la poitrine. Mais Jésus dit : « Ne pleurez pas ; elle n’est pas morte : elle dort. » 53 Mais on se moquait de lui, sachant qu’elle venait de mourir. 54 Alors il lui saisit la main et dit d’une voix forte : « Mon enfant, éveille-toi ! » 55 L’esprit lui revint et, à l’instant même, elle se leva. Alors Jésus ordonna de lui donner à manger. 56 Ses parents furent frappés de stupeur ; quant à Jésus, il leur commanda de ne dire à personne ce qui était arrivé.

Lecture English	4 I have great confidence in you, I have great pride in you; I am filled with encouragement, I am overflowing with joy all the more because of all our affliction. Paul’s Joy in Macedonia. 5 * For even when we came into Macedonia,* our flesh had no rest, but we were afflicted in every way—external conflicts, internal fears.b 6 But God, who encourages the downcast, encouraged us by the arrival of Titus,c 7 and not only by his arrival but also by the encouragement with which he was encouraged in regard to you, as he told us of your yearning, your lament, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced even more. 8 * For even if I saddened you by my letter, I do not regret it; and if I did regret it ([for] I see that that letter saddened you, if only for a while),d 9 I rejoice now, not because you were saddened, but because you were saddened into repentance; for you were saddened in a godly way, so that you did not suffer loss in anything because of us. 10 For godly sorrow produces a salutary repentance without regret, but worldly sorrow produces death. 11 For behold what earnestness this godly sorrow has produced for you, as well as readiness for a defense, and indignation, and fear, and yearning, and zeal, and punishment. In every way you have shown yourselves to be innocent in the matter.
Evangile English	40 r When Jesus returned, the crowd welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him. 41 And a man named Jairus, an official of the synagogue, came forward. He fell at the feet of Jesus and begged him to come to his house, 42 because he had an only daughter,* about twelve years old, and she was dying. As he went, the crowds almost crushed him. 43 And a woman afflicted with hemorrhages for twelve years,* who [had spent her whole livelihood on doctors and] was unable to be cured by anyone, 44 came up behind him and touched the tassel on his cloak. Immediately her bleeding stopped. 45 Jesus then asked, “Who touched me?” While all were denying it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds are pushing and pressing in upon you.” 46 But Jesus said, “Someone has touched me; for I know that power has gone out from me.”s 47 When the woman realized that she had not escaped notice, she came forward trembling. Falling down before him, she explained in the presence of all the people why she had touched him and how she had been healed immediately. 48 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has saved you; go in peace.”t 49 While he was still speaking, someone from the synagogue official’s house arrived and said, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the teacher any longer.” 50 On hearing this, Jesus answered him, “Do not be afraid; just have faith and she will be saved.” 51 When he arrived at the house he allowed no one to enter with him except Peter and John and James, and the child’s father and mother. 52 * u All were weeping and mourning for her, when he said, “Do not weep any longer, for she is not dead, but sleeping.” 53 And they ridiculed him, because they knew that she was dead. 54 But he took her by the hand and called to her, “Child, arise!” 55 Her breath returned and she immediately arose. He then directed that she should be given something to eat. 56 Her parents were astounded, and he instructed them to tell no one what had happened.
