Lecture Arabic	13 فمَنْ ذَا يَضُرُّكُم إِنْ كُنتُم غَيارَى على الـخَير؟ 14 لـكِنْ إِنْ تَأَلَّمْتُم مِنْ أَجْلِ البِرّ، فَطُوبى لَكُم! لا تَخَافُوا تَهْدِيدَهُم ولا تَضْطَرِبُوا، 15 بَلْ قدِّسُوا الرَّبَّ الـمَسِيحَ في قُلُوبِكُم، وكُونُوا دَوْمًا مُسْتَعِدِّينَ لِلدِّفَاعِ تُجَاهَ كُلِّ مَنْ يَسْأَلُكُم عَنْ سَبَبِ الرَّجَاءِ الَّذي فِيكُم، 16 ولـكِنْ بودَاعَةٍ واحْتِرَام، وبضَمِيرٍ صَالِح، حتَّى إِنَّ الـمُتَجَنِّينَ على سِيرَتِكُمُ الصَّالِحَةِ يُخْزَونَ بِمَا يَفْتَرُونَ بِهِ عَلَيكُم. 17 فمِنَ الأَفْضَلِ أَنْ تَتَأَلَّمُوا وأَنتُم تَفعَلُونَ الـخَير، إِنْ كانَتْ تِلْكَ مَشِيئَةُ الله، مِن أَنْ تَتأَلَّموا وأَنتُم تَفعَلُونَ الشَّرّ. 18 فَالْمَسِيحُ نَفْسُهُ ماتَ مَرَّةً واحِدَةً عَنِ الـخَطايَا، وهُوَ البَارّ، ماتَ مِن أَجلِ الأَثَمَة، لِيُقَرِّبَكُم إِلى الله، وقَد أُسْلِمَ بِالـجَسَدِ لِلمَوت، لـكِنَّهُ بالرُّوحِ أُعِيدَ إِلى الـحَيَاة. 19 وبِهـذَا الرُّوحِ عَيْنِهِ، انْطَلَقَ فَبَشَّرَ أَيْضًا الأَرْوَاحَ الَّذِينَ في السِّجْن. 20 وقَد كَانُوا مِنْ قَبْلُ عَاصِين، عِنْدَمَا كانَ اللهُ يَتأَنَّى صَابِرًا طَوَالَ الـمُدَّةِ الـَّتي كانَ نُوحٌ يَبنِي فيهَا السَّفِينَة، وبِهَا نَجَا مِنَ الـمَاءِ عَدَدٌ قَليل، أَي ثَمانيةُ أَشْخَاص. 21 وهـذَا الـمَاءُ هُوَ رَمْزٌ لِلمَعْمُودِيَّةِ الَّتي تُنَجِّيكُم الآنَ أَنتُم أَيضًا، وهِيَ لَيسَتْ إِزالةً لأَقْذَارِ الـجَسَد، بَلْ تعَهُّدُ ضَمِيرٍ صَالِحٍ أَمَامَ اللهِ، بِفَضْلِ قِيامَةِ يَسُوعَ الـمَسِيح، 22 الَّذي انْطَلَقَ إِلى السَّمَاء، وهُوَ عَنْ يَمِينِ الله، وقَدْ أُخْضِعَتْ لَهُ الـمَلائِكَةُ والسَّلاطِينُ والقُوَّات.
Evangile Arabic	34 قَالُوا لَهُ: "يَا سَيِّد، أَعْطِنَا هـذَا الـخُبْزَ كُلَّ حَين". 35 قَالَ لَهُم يَسُوع: "أَنَا هُوَ خُبْزُ الـحَيَاة. مَنْ يَأْتِي إِليَّ فَلَنْ يَجُوع، ومَنْ يُؤْمِنُ بِي فَلَنْ يَعْطَشَ أَبَدًا. 36 لـكِنِّي قُلْتُ لَكُم: إِنَّكُم رَأَيْتُمُونِي، ولا تُؤْمِنُون. 37 كُلُّ مَنْ يُعْطِينِي إِيَّاهُ الآبُ يَأْتِي إِليَّ، ومَنْ يَأْتِي إِليَّ فَلَنْ أَطْرُدَهُ خَارِجًا، 38 لأَنِّي قَدْ نَزَلْتُ مِنَ السَّمَاء، لا لأَعْمَلَ مَشِيئَتِي، بَلْ مَشِيئَةَ مَنْ أَرْسَلَنِي. 39 وهـذِهِ مَشِيئَةُ مَنْ أَرْسَلَنِي، أَلاَّ أَفْقِدَ أَحَدًا مِنَ الَّذينَ أَعْطَانِي إيَّاهُم، بَلْ أَنْ أُقِيمَهُ في اليَومِ الأَخِير. 40 أَجَل، هـذِهِ مَشِيئَةُ أَبِي، أَنَّ كُلَّ مَنْ يُشَاهِدُ الابْنَ ويُؤْمِنُ بِهِ، يَنَالُ حَيَاةً أَبَدِيَّة، وأَنَا أُقِيمُهُ في اليَومِ الأَخِير".

Lecture French	13 Qui donc vous fera du mal, si vous cherchez le bien avec ardeur ? 14 Mais s’il vous arrivait de souffrir pour la justice, heureux seriez-vous ! Comme dit l’Écriture : N’ayez aucune crainte de ces gens-là, ne vous laissez pas troubler. 15 Honorez dans vos cœurs la sainteté du Seigneur, le Christ. Soyez prêts à tout moment à présenter une défense devant quiconque vous demande de rendre raison de l’espérance qui est en vous ; 16 mais faites-le avec douceur et respect. Ayez une conscience droite, afin que vos adversaires soient pris de honte sur le point même où ils disent du mal de vous pour la bonne conduite que vous avez dans le Christ. 17 Car mieux vaudrait souffrir en faisant le bien, si c’était la volonté de Dieu, plutôt qu’en faisant le mal. 18 Car le Christ, lui aussi, a souffert pour les péchés, une seule fois, lui, le juste, pour les injustes, afin de vous introduire devant Dieu ; il a été mis à mort dans la chair, mais vivifié dans l’Esprit. 19 C’est en lui qu’il est parti proclamer son message aux esprits qui étaient en captivité. 20 Ceux-ci, jadis, avaient refusé d’obéir, au temps où se prolongeait la patience de Dieu, quand Noé construisit l’arche, dans laquelle un petit nombre, en tout huit personnes, furent sauvées à travers l’eau. 21 C’était une figure du baptême qui vous sauve maintenant : le baptême ne purifie pas de souillures extérieures, mais il est l’engagement envers Dieu d’une conscience droite et il sauve par la résurrection de Jésus Christ, 22 lui qui est à la droite de Dieu, après s’en être allé au ciel, lui à qui sont soumis les anges, ainsi que les Souverainetés et les Puissances.
Evangile French	34 Ils lui dirent alors : « Seigneur, donne-nous toujours de ce pain-là. » 35 Jésus leur répondit : « Moi, je suis le pain de la vie. Celui qui vient à moi n’aura jamais faim ; celui qui croit en moi n’aura jamais soif. 36 Mais je vous l’ai déjà dit : vous avez vu, et pourtant vous ne croyez pas. 37 Tous ceux que me donne le Père viendront jusqu’à moi ; et celui qui vient à moi, je ne vais pas le jeter dehors. 38 Car je suis descendu du ciel pour faire non pas ma volonté, mais la volonté de Celui qui m’a envoyé. 39 Or, telle est la volonté de Celui qui m’a envoyé : que je ne perde aucun de ceux qu’il m’a donnés, mais que je les ressuscite au dernier jour. 40 Telle est la volonté de mon Père : que celui qui voit le Fils et croit en lui ait la vie éternelle ; et moi, je le ressusciterai au dernier jour. »

Lecture English	13 Now who is going to harm you if you are enthusiastic for what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer because of righteousness, blessed are you. Do not be afraid or terrified with fear of them, 15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope,f 16 but do it with gentleness and reverence, keeping your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who defame your good conduct in Christ may themselves be put to shame. 17 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that be the will of God, than for doing evil. 18 For Christ also suffered* for sins once, the righteous for the sake of the unrighteous, that he might lead you to God. Put to death in the flesh, he was brought to life in the spirit.g 19 In it he also went to preach to the spirits in prison,* 20 who had once been disobedient while God patiently waited in the days of Noah during the building of the ark, in which a few persons, eight in all, were saved through water.h 21 This prefigured baptism, which saves you now. It is not a removal of dirt from the body but an appeal to God* for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,i 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers subject to him.j
Evangile English	34 p So they said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.” 35 * Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.q 36 But I told you that although you have seen [me], you do not believe.r 37 Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to me, 38 because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me.s 39 And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it [on] the last day.t 40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him [on] the last day.”u
