Lecture Arabic	12 ولَمَّا عَرَفَ الـمَكَان، ذَهَبَ إِلى بَيْتِ مَرْيَمَ أُمِّ يُوحَنَّا الـمُلَقَّبِ بِمَرْقُس. وكانَ كَثيرُونَ هُناكَ مُجتَمِعِينَ يُصَلُّون. 13 ولَمَّا قَرَعَ البابَ الـخَارِجيّ، أَقبَلَتْ جارِيَةٌ اسْمُهَا رُودِي تَتَسَمَّع. 14 وعَرَفَتْ صَوتَ بُطرُسَ فلَمْ تفْتَحِ البَابَ مِن فَرَحِها، بلْ أَسْرَعَتْ إِلى الدَّاخِلِ وأَخْبَرَتْ أَنَّ بُطرُسَ واقِفٌ على الباب. 15 فقالُوا لَها: "مَجْنُونَةٌ أَنْتِ!". أَمَّا هيَ فأَصَرَّتْ تُؤَكِّدُ أَنَّ الأَمْرَ كَذـلِكَ. فقالُوا: "إِنَّهُ مَلاكُهُ!". 16 وكانَ بُطرُسُ لا يَزالُ يَقْرَع، ففَتَحُوا لَهُ، ورأَوْهُ فَدَهِشُوا. 17 فأَشارَ إِلَيهِم بِيَدِهِ لِيَسْكُتُوا، وحَدَّثَهُم كَيْفَ أَخْرَجَهُ الرَّبُّ مِنَ السِّجْن. وقال: "أَخْبِرُوا يَعقُوبَ والإِخوَةَ بِهـذَا". ثُمَّ خَرَجَ وذَهَبَ إِلى مَوضِعٍ آخَر. 18 ولَمَّا أَقْبَلَ النَّهَار، حَدَثَتْ بَلْبَلَةٌ كبيرَةٌ بَيْنَ الـجُنُود : "تُرَى ماذا جَرى لِبُطرُس؟". 19 أَمَّا هِيرُودُس، فلَمَّا طَلَبَهُ ولَمْ يَجِدْهُ، اسْتَجْوَبَ الـحُرَّاسَ وأَمَرَ أَنْ يُسَاقُوا إِلى العَذاب. ثُمَّ نَزَلَ مِنَ اليَهُودِيَّةِ إِلى قَيصَرِيَّة، وأَقَامَ فيها. 20 وكانَ هِيرُودُسُ ناقِمًا عَلى أَهْلِ صُورَ وصَيدا، فمَثُلُوا مَعًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْه، واسْتَمَالُوا بْلاسْتُسَ حَاجِبَ الـمَلِك، والْتَمَسُوا السَّلام؛ لأَنَّ بِلادَهُم كَانَتْ تتَمَوَّنُ مِنْ بِلادِ الـمَلِك. 21 وفي اليَومِ الـمُعَيَّن، لَبِسَ هِيرُودُسُ الـحُلَّةَ الـمَلَكِيَّة، وجَلَسَ على الـمِنْبَرِ يَخطُبُ فيهِم. 22 وكانَ الشَّعْبُ يَهْتِف: "صَوتُ إِلـهٍ هـذَا، لا صَوتُ إِنسَان!". 23 فَضَرَبَهُ فَجْأَةً مَلاكُ الرَّبّ، لأَنَّهُ لَمْ يُعْطِ الـمَجْدَ لله. والتَهَمَهُ الدُّودُ فَمَات. 24 أَمَّا كلِمَةُ اللهِ فَكَانَتْ تَنْمُو وتَكْثُر.
Evangile Arabic	10 ودَعَا يَسُوعُ الـجَمْعَ وقَالَ لَهُم: "إِسْمَعُوا وافْهَمُوا: 11 لَيْسَ مَا يَدْخُلُ الفَمَ يُنَجِّسُ الإِنْسَان، بَلْ مَا يَخْرُجُ مِنَ الفَمِ هُوَ مَا يُنَجِّسُ الإِنْسَان". 12 حينَئِذٍ دَنَا مِنْهُ التَّلاميذُ وقَالُوا لَهُ: "أَتَعْلَمُ أَنَّ الفَرِّيسيِّينَ تَشَكَّكُوا حِيْنَ سَمِعُوا هـذَا الكَلام؟". 13 فَأَجَابَ وقَال: "كُلُّ غَرْسَةٍ لَمْ يَغرِسْهَا أَبي السَّماوِيُّ تُقلَع. 14 دَعُوهُم! إِنَّهُم عُمْيَانٌ قَادَةُ عُمْيَان. وإِنْ كَانَ أَعْمَى يَقُودُ أَعْمَى، فَكِلاهُمَا يَسْقُطَانِ في حُفْرَة". 15 فَأَجَابَ بُطْرُسُ وقَالَ لَهُ: "فَسِّرْ لَنَا هـذَا الـمَثَل". 16 فقَال: "وهَلْ أَنْتُم أَيْضًا إِلى الآنَ لا تَفْهَمُون؟ 17 أَلا تُدْرِكُونَ أَنَّ كُلَّ مَا يَدْخُلُ الفَمَ يَنْزِلُ إِلى الـجَوف، ثُمَّ يُدْفَعُ إِلى الـخَلاء؟ 18 أَمَّا مَا يَخْرُجُ مِنَ الفَمِ فَمِنَ القَلْبِ يَصْدُر، وهُوَ مَا يُنَجِّسُ الإِنْسَان. 19 فَمِنَ القَلْبِ تَصْدُرُ الأَفْكَارُ الشِّرِّيرَة، والقَتْلُ، والزِّنَى، والفُجُور، والسَّرِقَة، وشَهَادَةُ الزُّور، والتَّجْدِيف. 20 تِلْكَ هِيَ الأُمُورُ الَّتِي تُنَجِّسُ الإِنْسَان. أَمَّا الأَكْلُ بِأَيْدٍ غَيْرِ مَغْسُولَةٍ فَلا يُنَجِّسُ الإِنْسَان".

Lecture French	12 S’étant repéré, il se rendit à la maison de Marie, la mère de Jean surnommé Marc, où se trouvaient rassemblées un certain nombre de personnes qui priaient. 13 Il frappa au battant du portail : une jeune servante nommée Rhodè s’approcha pour écouter. 14 Elle reconnut la voix de Pierre et, dans sa joie, au lieu d’ouvrir la porte, elle rentra en courant annoncer que Pierre était là, devant le portail. 15 On lui dit : « Tu délires ! » Mais elle soutenait qu’il en était bien ainsi. Et eux disaient : « C’est son ange. » 16 Cependant Pierre continuait à frapper ; ayant ouvert, ils le virent et furent dans la stupéfaction. 17 D’un geste de la main, il leur demanda le silence et leur raconta comment le Seigneur l’avait fait sortir de la prison. Il leur dit alors : « Annoncez-le à Jacques et aux frères. » Puis il sortit et s’en alla vers un autre lieu. 18 Au lever du jour, il y eut une belle agitation chez les soldats : qu’était donc devenu Pierre ? 19 Hérode le fit rechercher, sans réussir à le trouver. Ayant fait comparaître les gardes, il donna l’ordre de les emmener au supplice. Puis, de Judée, il descendit à Césarée, où il séjourna. 20 Hérode était en conflit aigu avec les habitants de Tyr et de Sidon. S’étant mis d’accord, ceux-ci vinrent se présenter devant lui. Après avoir gagné à leur cause Blastos, le chambellan du roi, ils sollicitaient une solution pacifique, car leur contrée dépendait du domaine royal pour son approvisionnement. 21 Au jour fixé, Hérode, ayant revêtu les habits royaux et siégeant à la tribune, se mit à les haranguer. 22 Le peuple l’acclamait à grands cris : « C’est la voix d’un dieu, et non d’un homme ! » 23 Mais soudain, l’ange du Seigneur le frappa, parce qu’il n’avait pas rendu gloire à Dieu. Rongé par les vers, il expira. 24 La parole de Dieu était féconde et se multipliait.
Evangile French	10 Jésus appela la foule et lui dit : « Écoutez et comprenez bien ! 11 Ce n’est pas ce qui entre dans la bouche qui rend l’homme impur ; mais ce qui sort de la bouche, voilà ce qui rend l’homme impur. » 12 Alors les disciples s’approchèrent et lui dirent : « Sais-tu que les pharisiens ont été scandalisés en entendant cette parole ? » 13 Il répondit : « Toute plante que mon Père du ciel n’a pas plantée sera arrachée. 14 Laissez-les ! Ce sont des aveugles qui guident des aveugles. Si un aveugle guide un aveugle, tous les deux tomberont dans un trou. » 15 Prenant la parole, Pierre lui dit : « Explique-nous cette parabole. » 16 Jésus répliqua : « Êtes-vous encore sans intelligence, vous aussi ? 17 Ne comprenez-vous pas que tout ce qui entre dans la bouche passe dans le ventre pour être éliminé ? 18 Mais ce qui sort de la bouche provient du cœur, et c’est cela qui rend l’homme impur. 19 Car c’est du cœur que proviennent les pensées mauvaises : meurtres, adultères, inconduite, vols, faux témoignages, diffamations. 20 C’est cela qui rend l’homme impur, mais manger sans se laver les mains ne rend pas l’homme impur. »

Lecture English	12 When he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John who is called Mark, where there were many people gathered in prayer.b 13 When he knocked on the gateway door, a maid named Rhoda came to answer it. 14 She was so overjoyed when she recognized Peter’s voice that, instead of opening the gate, she ran in and announced that Peter was standing at the gate. 15 They told her, “You are out of your mind,” but she insisted that it was so. But they kept saying, “It is his angel.” 16 But Peter continued to knock, and when they opened it, they saw him and were astounded. 17 He motioned to them with his hand to be quiet and explained [to them] how the Lord had led him out of the prison, and said, “Report this to James* and the brothers.” Then he left and went to another place. 18 At daybreak there was no small commotion among the soldiers over what had become of Peter.c 19 Herod, after instituting a search but not finding him, ordered the guards tried and executed. Then he left Judea to spend some time in Caesarea. Herod’s Death. 20 * He had long been very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon, who now came to him in a body. After winning over Blastus, the king’s chamberlain, they sued for peace because their country was supplied with food from the king’s territory. 21 On an appointed day, Herod, attired in royal robes, [and] seated on the rostrum, addressed them publicly. 22 The assembled crowd cried out, “This is the voice of a god, not of a man.” 23 At once the angel of the Lord struck him down because he did not ascribe the honor to God, and he was eaten by worms and breathed his last. 24 But the word of God continued to spread and grow.d
Evangile English	10 f He summoned the crowd and said to them, “Hear and understand. 11 It is not what enters one’s mouth that defiles that person; but what comes out of the mouth is what defiles one.” 12 Then his disciples approached and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees took offense when they heard what you said?” 13 He said in reply,* “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. 14 g Let them alone; they are blind guides [of the blind]. If a blind person leads a blind person, both will fall into a pit.” 15 Then Peter* said to him in reply, “Explain [this] parable to us.” 16 He said to them, “Are even you still without understanding? 17 Do you not realize that everything that enters the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled into the latrine? 18 h But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile. 19 * For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, unchastity, theft, false witness, blasphemy. 20 These are what defile a person, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile.”
