Lecture Arabic	11 فأَقلَعْنا مِن تُرْوَاس، واتَّجَهْنا تَوًّا إِلى سَامُطْرَة، وفي اليَوْمِ التَّالي إِلى نِيَابُولِيس، 12 ومِنْها إِلى فِيلِبِّي، وهِيَ أَوَّلُ مَدينَةٍ في مُقَاطَعَةِ مَقْدُونِيَة، وهِيَ مُسْتَعمَرَةٌ رُومَانِيَّة. فأَقَمْنَا في هـذِهِ الـمَدِينَةِ بِضْعَةَ أَيَّام. 13 ويَوْمَ السَّبْتِ خَرَجْنا خَارِجَ بَابِ الـمَدِينَةِ إِلى ضَفَّةِ نَهْر، وكُنَّا نتَوَقَّعُ أَنْ نَجِدَ هُنَاكَ مَكَانًا لِلصَّلاة. فجَلَسْنا نُكَلِّمُ النِّسَاءَ الـمُجْتَمِعَاتِ هُنَاك. 14 وكَانَتْ تَسْتَمِعُ إِلَينا امْرَأَةٌ اسْمُهَا لِيدِيَة، بائِعَةُ أُرْجُوان، مِن مَدِينَةِ طِيَاطِيرَة، عابِدَةٌ لله. فَفَتَحَ الرَّبُّ قَلْبَهَا لِكَي تُصْغِيَ إِلى أَقْوَالِ بُولُس. 15 ولَمَّا اعْتَمَدَتْ هِيَ وأَهلُ بَيتِها، قَالَتْ لَنَا رَاجِيَةً: "إِنْ كُنْتُم تَحْسُبُونِي مُؤْمِنَةً بِالرَّبِّ فَادْخُلُوا بَيْتِي وأَقِيمُوا فِيه". وأَلْزَمَتْنا بِذـلِكَ. 16 وحَدَثَ، بَيْنَمَا كُنَّا ذاهِبِينَ إِلى الصَّلاة، أَنْ لاقَتْنا جَارِيَةٌ بِها رُوحُ عِرَافَة، وكانَتْ بِعَرَافَتِها تُكْسِبُ مَوَالِيهَا مَالاً كَثيرًا. 17 وكَانَتْ تَتْبَعُ بُولُسَ وتَتْبَعُنا عَنْ كَثَب، وتَصِيحُ قائِلَةً: "هـؤُلاءِ النَّاسُ هُم عَبِيدُ اللهِ العَلِيّ. وهُم يُبَشِّرُونَكُم بِطَريقِ الـخَلاص". 18 وظَلَّتْ تَفْعَلُ هـذَا أَيَّامًا كَثِيرة، فَاغتاظَ بُولُسُ والتَفَتَ فقَالَ لِروُحِ العِرَافَةِ فِيها: "آمُرُكَ بِاسْمِ يَسُوعَ الـمَسيحِ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ مِنها!". فَخَرَجَ الرُّوحُ لِسَاعَتِهِ. 19 فلمَّا رأَى مَوَالِيها أَنَّهُ قَدْ ذَهَبَ أَمَلُهُم في كَسْبِ الـمَال، قَبَضُوا عَلى بُولُسَ وسِيلا، وجَرُّوهُمَا إِلى السَّاحَة، إِلى الـحُكَّام. 20 وقدَّمُوهُما إِلى قادَةِ الـحَرَسِ وقالُوا: "هـذَانِ الرَّجُلانِ يُبَلْبِلانِ مَدِينَتَنا، وهُمَا يَهُودِيَّان، 21 ويُنَادِيَانِ بِعَوائِدَ لا يجُوزُ لنا أَنْ نَقْبَلَها ولا أَن نَعمَلَ بِها نَحْنُ الرُّومانِيِّين". 22 فَهَاجَ الـجَمْعُ كُلُّهُ علَيْهِمَا، وجَرَّدَهُمَا قَادَةُ الـحَرَسِ مِنْ ثِيَابِهِمَا، وأَمَرُوا بِجَلْدِهِما. 23 وبَعْدَمَا أَوْسَعُوهُمَا ضَرْبًا، أَلقَوْهُما في السِّجْن، وأَمَرُوا السَّجَّانَ بِأَنْ يُشَدِّدَ الـحِرَاسَةَ علَيْهِمَا.
Evangile Arabic	5 ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُم: "مَنْ مِنْكُم يَكُونُ لَهُ صَدِيق، وَيَذْهَبُ إِلَيهِ في نِصْفِ اللَّيل، وَيَقُولُ لَهُ: يَا صَدِيقِي، أَقْرِضْنِي ثَلاثَةَ أَرْغِفَة، 6 لأَنَّ صَدِيقًا لي قَدِمَ عَلَيَّ مَنْ سَفَر، وَلَيْسَ عِنْدِي مَا أُقَدِّمُهُ لَهُ؛ 7 فَيُجِيبُهُ صَدِيقُهُ مِنَ الدَّاخِلِ ويَقُول: لا تُزْعِجْنِي! فَالبَابُ الآنَ مُغْلَق، وَأَوْلادِي مَعِي في الفِرَاش، فَلا أَقْدِرُ أَنْ أَقُومَ لأُعْطِيَكَ؟ 8 أَقُولُ لَكُم: إِنْ كَانَ لا يَقُومُ وَيُعْطِيهِ لأَنَّهُ صَدِيقُهُ، فإِنَّهُ مِنْ أَجْلِ لَجَاجَتِهِ يَنْهَضُ وَيُعْطِيهِ كُلَّ مَا يَحْتَاجُ إِلَيْه.

Lecture French	11 De Troas nous avons gagné le large et filé tout droit sur l’île de Samothrace, puis, le lendemain, sur Néapolis, 12 et ensuite sur Philippes, qui est une cité du premier district de Macédoine et une colonie romaine. Nous avons passé un certain temps dans cette ville 13 et, le jour du sabbat, nous en avons franchi la porte pour rejoindre le bord de la rivière, où nous pensions trouver un lieu de prière. Nous nous sommes assis, et nous avons parlé aux femmes qui s’étaient réunies. 14 L’une d’elles nommée Lydie, une négociante en étoffes de pourpre, originaire de la ville de Thyatire, et qui adorait le Dieu unique, écoutait. Le Seigneur lui ouvrit l’esprit pour la rendre attentive à ce que disait Paul. 15 Quand elle fut baptisée, elle et tous les gens de sa maison, elle nous adressa cette invitation : « Si vous avez reconnu ma foi au Seigneur, venez donc dans ma maison pour y demeurer. » C’est ainsi qu’elle nous a forcé la main. 16 Comme nous allions au lieu de prière, voilà que vint à notre rencontre une jeune servante qui était possédée par un esprit de divination ; elle rapportait de gros bénéfices à ses maîtres par ses oracles. 17 Elle se mit à nous suivre, Paul et nous, et elle criait : « Ces hommes sont des serviteurs du Dieu Très-Haut ; ils vous annoncent le chemin du salut. » 18 Elle faisait cela depuis plusieurs jours quand Paul, excédé, se retourna et dit à l’esprit : « Au nom de Jésus Christ, je te l’ordonne : Sors ! » Et à l’instant même il sortit. 19 Les maîtres, voyant s’en aller l’espoir de leurs bénéfices, se saisirent de Paul et de Silas et les traînèrent sur la place publique auprès des autorités. 20 Puis, ils les firent comparaître devant les magistrats en disant : « Ces gens troublent notre cité : ils sont Juifs, 21 et ils prônent des coutumes que nous n’avons pas le droit d’accepter ni de pratiquer, nous qui sommes citoyens romains. » 22 Alors, la foule se déchaîna contre Paul et Silas. Les magistrats ordonnèrent de leur arracher les vêtements pour leur donner la bastonnade. 23 Après les avoir roués de coups, on les jeta en prison, en donnant au geôlier la consigne de les surveiller de près.
Evangile French	05 Jésus leur dit encore : « Imaginez que l’un de vous ait un ami et aille le trouver au milieu de la nuit pour lui demander : “Mon ami, prête-moi trois pains, 06 car un de mes amis est arrivé de voyage chez moi, et je n’ai rien à lui offrir.” 07 Et si, de l’intérieur, l’autre lui répond : “Ne viens pas m’importuner ! La porte est déjà fermée ; mes enfants et moi, nous sommes couchés. Je ne puis pas me lever pour te donner quelque chose.” 08 Eh bien ! je vous le dis : même s’il ne se lève pas pour donner par amitié, il se lèvera à cause du sans-gêne de cet ami, et il lui donnera tout ce qu’il lui faut.

Lecture English	11 * We set sail from Troas, making a straight run for Samothrace, and on the next day to Neapolis, 12 and from there to Philippi, a leading city in that district of Macedonia and a Roman colony. We spent some time in that city. 13 On the sabbath we went outside the city gate along the river where we thought there would be a place of prayer. We sat and spoke with the women who had gathered there. 14 One of them, a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth, from the city of Thyatira, a worshiper of God,* listened, and the Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what Paul was saying. 15 After she and her household had been baptized, she offered us an invitation, “If you consider me a believer in the Lord, come and stay at my home,” and she prevailed on us. Imprisonment at Philippi. 16 As we were going to the place of prayer, we met a slave girl with an oracular spirit,* who used to bring a large profit to her owners through her fortune-telling. 17 She began to follow Paul and us, shouting, “These people are slaves of the Most High God, who proclaim to you a way of salvation.” 18 She did this for many days. Paul became annoyed, turned, and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” Then it came out at that moment. 19 When her owners saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them to the public square before the local authorities. 20 They brought them before the magistrates* and said, “These people are Jews and are disturbing our city 21 and are advocating customs that are not lawful for us Romans to adopt or practice.” 22 c The crowd joined in the attack on them, and the magistrates had them stripped and ordered them to be beaten with rods. 23 After inflicting many blows on them, they threw them into prison and instructed the jailer to guard them securely.
Evangile English	5 And he said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend to whom he goes at midnight and says, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, 6 for a friend of mine has arrived at my house from a journey and I have nothing to offer him,’ 7 and he says in reply from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door has already been locked and my children and I are already in bed. I cannot get up to give you anything.’ 8 I tell you, if he does not get up to give him the loaves because of their friendship, he will get up to give him whatever he needs because of his persistence.
