Lecture Arabic	13 وبَعْدَ بِضْعَةِ أَيَّام، جَاءَ الـمَلِكُ أَغْرِيبَا وَبِرْنِيقَةُ إِلى قَيْصَرِيَّة، لِيُسَلِّمَا عَلى فَسْتُس. 14 وَمَكَثَا هُنَاكَ أَيَّامًا عَديدَة، فَعَرَضَ فَسْتُسُ عَلى الـمَلِكِ قَضِيَّةَ بُولُسَ قَائِلاً: "هُنَا رَجُلٌ تَرَكَهُ فِيلِكْسُ أَسيرًا. 22 فقَالَ أَغْرِيبَا لِفَسْتُس:"أَوَدُّ أَنْ أَسْمَعَ أَنَا أَيْضًا هـذَا الرَّجُل". قَالَ فَسْتُس: "غَدًا تَسْمَعُهُ". 23 وَفي الغَدِ جَاءَ أَغْريبَا وَبِرْنِيقَةُ بأُبَّهَةٍ عَظِيمَة، ودَخَلا قَاعَةَ الـمَحْكَمَة، يُرَافِقُهُما قُوَّادُ الأُلُوفِ وأَعْيَانُ الـمَدينَة. وَأَمَرَ فَسْتُس، فَأُحْضِرَ بُولُس. 24 فقَالَ فَسْتُس: "أَيُّهَا الـمَلِكُ أَغْرِيبَا، ويَا جَمِيعَ الرِّجَالِ الـحَاضِرينَ هُنَا مَعَنَا، أَنْتُم تَرَوْنَ هـذَا الرَّجُلَ الَّذِي سَعَى بِهِ إِليَّ جُمْهُورُ اليَهُودِ كُلُّهُ في أُورَشَليمَ وهـهُنا، وهُم يَصْرُخُون: لا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ أَنْ يَبْقَى حَيًّا! 25 أَمَّا أَنَا فَلَمْ أَجِدْ أَنَّهُ فَعَــلَ شَيْئًا يَسْتَوجِبُ الـمَوْت. وَلـكِنَّهُ رَفَعَ دَعْوَاهُ إِلى قَيْصَر، فقَرَّرْتُ أَنْ أُرْسِلَهُ إِلَيْه. 26 وبِمَا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ لي شَيءٌ أَكِيدٌ أَكْتُبُهُ إِلى جَلالَتِهِ، فقَدْ أَحْضَرْتُهُ أَمَامَكُم، وخُصُوصًا أَمَامَكَ أَيُّهَا الـمَلِكُ أَغْــرِيبَا، حَتَّى يَكُونَ لي، بَعْدَ اسْتِجْوَابِكَ لَهُ، شَيءٌ أَكْتُبُهُ، 27 لأَنِّي أَرَى مِنَ الـجَهْلِ أَنْ أُرْسِلَ أَسِيرًا إِلى قَيْصَر، ولا أُبَـيِّنَ مَا عَلَيْهِ مِنْ شَكَاوَى!".
Evangile Arabic	42 فَقَالَ الرَّبّ: "مَنْ تُرَاهُ الوَكِيلُ الأَمِينُ الـحَكِيمُ الَّذي يُقِيمُهُ سَيِّدُهُ عَلَى خَدَمِهِ لِيُعْطِيَهُم حِصَّتَهُم مِنَ الطَّعَامِ في حِينِهَا؟ 43 طُوبَى لِذـلِكَ العَبْدِ الَّذي، مَتَى جَاءَ سَيِّدُهُ، يَجِدُهُ فَاعِلاً هـكذَا! 44 حَقًّا أَقُولُ لَكُم: إِنَّهُ يُقِيمُهُ عَلَى جَمِيعِ مُقْتَنَياتِهِ. 45 أَمَّا إِذَا قَالَ ذـلِكَ العَبْدُ في قَلْبِهِ: سَيَتَأَخَّرُ سَيِّدِي في مَجِيئِهِ، وَبَدأَ يَضْرِبُ الغِلْمَانَ وَالـجَوَارِي، يَأْكُلُ وَيَشْرَبُ وَيَسْكَر، 46 يَجِيءُ سَيِّدُ ذـلِكَ العَبْدِ في يَوْمٍ لا يَنْتَظِرُهُ، وَفي سَاعَةٍ لا يَعْرِفُها، فَيَفْصِلُهُ، وَيَجْعلُ نَصِيبَهُ مَعَ الكَافِرين. 47 فَذـلِكَ العَبْدُ الَّذي عَرَفَ مَشِيئَةَ سَيِّدِهِ، وَمَا أَعَدَّ شَيْئًا، وَلا عَمِلَ بِمَشيئَةِ سَيِّدِهِ، يُضْرَبُ ضَرْبًا كَثِيرًا. 48 أَمَّا العَبْدُ الَّذي مَا عَرَفَ مَشِيئَةَ سَيِّدِهِ، وَعَمِلَ مَا يَسْتَوجِبُ الضَّرْب، فَيُضْرَبُ ضَرْبًا قَلِيلاً. وَمَنْ أُعْطِيَ كَثيرًا يُطْلَبُ مِنْهُ الكَثِير، وَمَنِ ائْتُمِنَ عَلَى الكَثِيرِ يُطالَبُ بِأَكْثَر.

Lecture French	13 Quelques jours plus tard, le roi Agrippa et Bérénice vinrent à Césarée saluer le gouverneur Festus. 14 Comme ils passaient là plusieurs jours, 22 Agrippa dit à Festus : « Je voudrais bien, moi aussi, entendre cet homme. » Il répondit : « Demain, tu l’entendras. » 23 Le lendemain, Agrippa et Bérénice arrivèrent donc en grand apparat et firent leur entrée dans la salle d’audience, escortés par les autorités militaires et les principaux personnages de la cité. Sur l’ordre de Festus, Paul fut amené. 24 Festus prit la parole : « Roi Agrippa, et vous tous qui êtes là avec nous, vous voyez devant vous l’homme au sujet duquel toute la multitude des Juifs m’a sollicité, tant à Jérusalem qu’ici même, en criant qu’il ne devait plus rester en vie. 25 Quant à moi, j’ai compris qu’il n’avait rien fait qui mérite la mort ; mais comme lui-même en a appelé à l’empereur, j’ai pris la décision de l’envoyer à Rome. 26 Je n’ai rien de précis à écrire sur son compte au seigneur l’empereur ; c’est pourquoi je l’ai fait comparaître devant vous, et surtout devant toi, roi Agrippa, afin qu’après cette audience j’aie quelque chose à écrire. 27 En effet, il ne me semble pas raisonnable d’envoyer un prisonnier sans signifier les charges retenues contre lui. »
Evangile French	42 Le Seigneur répondit : « Que dire de l’intendant fidèle et sensé à qui le maître confiera la charge de son personnel pour distribuer, en temps voulu, la ration de nourriture ? 43 Heureux ce serviteur que son maître, en arrivant, trouvera en train d’agir ainsi ! 44 Vraiment, je vous le déclare : il l’établira sur tous ses biens. 45 Mais si le serviteur se dit en lui-même : “Mon maître tarde à venir”, et s’il se met à frapper les serviteurs et les servantes, à manger, à boire et à s’enivrer, 46 alors quand le maître viendra, le jour où son serviteur ne s’y attend pas et à l’heure qu’il ne connaît pas, il l’écartera et lui fera partager le sort des infidèles. 47 Le serviteur qui, connaissant la volonté de son maître, n’a rien préparé et n’a pas accompli cette volonté, recevra un grand nombre de coups. 48 Mais celui qui ne la connaissait pas, et qui a mérité des coups pour sa conduite, celui-là n’en recevra qu’un petit nombre. À qui l’on a beaucoup donné, on demandera beaucoup ; à qui l’on a beaucoup confié, on réclamera davantage.

Lecture English	When a few days had passed, King Agrippa and Bernice* arrived in Caesarea on a visit to Festus. 14 Since they spent several days there, Festus referred Paul’s case to the king, saying, “There is a man here left in custody by Felix.a 22 Agrippa said to Festus, “I too should like to hear this man.” He replied, “Tomorrow you will hear him.” 23 The next day Agrippa and Bernice came with great ceremony and entered the audience hall in the company of cohort commanders and the prominent men of the city and, by command of Festus, Paul was brought in. 24 And Festus said, “King Agrippa and all you here present with us, look at this man about whom the whole Jewish populace petitioned me here and in Jerusalem, clamoring that he should live no longer. 25 I found, however, that he had done nothing deserving death, and so when he appealed to the Emperor, I decided to send him. 26 But I have nothing definite to write about him to our sovereign; therefore I have brought him before all of you, and particularly before you, King Agrippa, so that I may have something to write as a result of this investigation. 27 For it seems senseless to me to send up a prisoner without indicating the charges against him.”
Evangile English	42 And the Lord replied, “Who, then, is the faithful and prudent steward whom the master will put in charge of his servants to distribute [the] food allowance at the proper time? 43 Blessed is that servant whom his master on arrival finds doing so. 44 Truly, I say to you, he will put him in charge of all his property. 45 But if that servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed in coming,’* and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, to eat and drink and get drunk, 46 then that servant’s master will come on an unexpected day and at an unknown hour and will punish him severely and assign him a place with the unfaithful. 47 That servant who knew his master’s will but did not make preparations nor act in accord with his will shall be beaten severely;t 48 and the servant who was ignorant of his master’s will but acted in a way deserving of a severe beating shall be beaten only lightly. Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.
