Lecture Arabic	1 يا أَولادِي، إِنِّي أَكْتُبُ إِلَيْكُم بِهـذَا لِئَلاَّ تَخْطَأُوا. وإِنْ خَطِئَ أَحَدٌ فَإِنَّ لَنَا شَفِيعًا عِنْدَ الآب، هُوَ يَسُوعُ الـمَسِيحُ البَارّ. 2 فَهُوَ نَفْسُهُ كَفَّارَةٌ لِخَطَايانَا، لا لِـخَطايانَا فَقَط، بَلْ لِخَطايَا العَالَمِ كُلِّهِ أَيْضًا. 3 وبِهـذَا نَعْرِفُ أَنَّنَا قَدْ عَرَفْنَاه، إِنْ كُنَّا نَحْفَظُ وَصَايَاه. 4 مَنْ يَقُول: "إِنِّي أَعْرِفُهُ"، وهُوَ لا يَحْفَظُ وصَايَاه، يَكُونُ كاذِبًا، ولا يَكُونُ الـحَقُّ فِيه. 5 أَمَّا مَنْ يَحْفَظُ كَلِمَتَهُ، فقدِ اكْتَمَلَتْ فِيهِ حَقًّا مَحَبَّةُ الله. وبهـذَا نَعْرِفُ أَنَّنَا نَحْنُ فِيه. 6 مَنْ يَقُولُ إِنَّهُ ثَابِتٌ فِيه، عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَسِيرَ هُوَ أَيْضًا كَمَا سَارَ الـمَسِيحُ نَفْسُهُ. 7 أَيُّها الأَحِبَّاء، إِنِّي لا أَكْتُبُ إِلَيْكُم بِوَصِيَّةٍ جَدِيدَة، بَلْ بِوَصِيَّةٍ قَدِيْمَة، كَانَتْ لَكُم مُنْذُ البَدْء. والوَصِيَّةُ القَدِيْمَةُ إِنَّمَا هِيَ الكَلِمَةُ الَّتي سَمِعْتُمُوهَا. 8 وهِيَ أَيْضًا وَصِيَّةٌ جَدِيدَةٌ أَكْتُبُ بِهَا إِلَيْكُم، وهـذَا حَقٌّ في الْمَسِيحِ وفِيكُم؛ لأَنَّ الظُّلْمَةَ تَزُولُ والنُّورُ الـحَقِيقِيُّ بَدَأَ يَسْطَع. 9 مَنْ يَقُولُ إِنَّهُ في النُّور، وهُوَ يُبْغِضُ أَخَاه، فَهُوَ لا يَزَالُ في الظُّلْمَةِ حَتَّى الآن. 10 مَنْ يُحِبُّ أَخَاهُ يَثْبُتُ في النُّور، ولا يَكُونُ فيهِ عِثَار. 11 أَمَّا مَنْ يُبْغِضُ أَخَاهُ فإِنَّهُ في الظُّلْمَة، وفي الظُّلْمَةِ يَسِير، ولا يَدرِي إِلى أَيْنَ يَمْضِي، لأَنَّ الظُّلْمَةَ قَدْ أَعْمَتْ عَيْنَيْه.
Evangile Arabic	1 وَدَخَلَ يَسُوعُ يَوْمَ السَّبْتِ بَيْتَ أَحَدِ رُؤَسَاءِ الفَرِّيسِيِّينَ لِتَنَاوُلِ الطَّعَام، وكَانَ هـؤُلاءِ يُرَاقِبُونَهُ. 2 وَإِذَا رَجُلٌ مُصَابٌ بِدَاءِ الاسْتِسْقَاءِ يَحْضُرُ أَمَامَهُ. 3 فَخَاطَبَ يَسُوعُ عُلَمَاءَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَالفَرِّيسِيِّينَ قَائِلاً: "هَلْ يَحِلُّ الشِّفَاءُ يَوْمَ السَّبْتِ أَمْ لا؟". 4 فَظَلُّوا صَامِتِين. فَأَخَذَ يَسُوعُ الرَّجُلَ بِيَدِهِ وَشَفَاهُ وَصَرَفَهُ. 5 وَقالَ لَهُم: "مَنْ مِنْكُم يَقَعُ ابْنُهُ، أَوْ ثَوْرُهُ، في بِئْرٍ يَوْمَ السَّبْت، وَلا يُسَارِعُ فَيَنْتَشِلُهُ؟". 6 فَلَمْ يَقْدِرُوا أَنْ يُجِيبُوهُ عَنْ ذـلِكَ.

Lecture French	01 Mes petits enfants, je vous écris cela pour que vous évitiez le péché. Mais si l’un de nous vient à pécher, nous avons un défenseur devant le Père : Jésus Christ, le Juste. 02 C’est lui qui, par son sacrifice, obtient le pardon de nos péchés, non seulement les nôtres, mais encore ceux du monde entier. 03 Voici comment nous savons que nous le connaissons : si nous gardons ses commandements. 04 Celui qui dit : « Je le connais », et qui ne garde pas ses commandements, est un menteur : la vérité n’est pas en lui. 05 Mais en celui qui garde sa parole, l’amour de Dieu atteint vraiment la perfection : voilà comment nous savons que nous sommes en lui. 06 Celui qui déclare demeurer en lui doit, lui aussi, marcher comme Jésus lui-même a marché. 07 Bien-aimés, ce n’est pas un commandement nouveau que je vous écris, mais un commandement ancien que vous aviez depuis le commencement. La parole que vous avez entendue, c’est le commandement ancien. 08 Et pourtant, c’est un commandement nouveau que je vous écris ; ce qui est vrai en cette parole l’est aussi en vous ; en effet, les ténèbres passent et déjà brille la vraie lumière. 09 Celui qui déclare être dans la lumière et qui a de la haine contre son frère est dans les ténèbres jusqu’à maintenant. 10 Celui qui aime son frère demeure dans la lumière, et il n’y a en lui aucune occasion de chute. 11 Mais celui qui a de la haine contre son frère est dans les ténèbres : il marche dans les ténèbres sans savoir où il va, parce que les ténèbres ont aveuglé ses yeux.
Evangile French	01 Un jour de sabbat, Jésus était entré dans la maison d’un chef des pharisiens pour y prendre son repas, et ces derniers l’observaient. 02 Or voici qu’il y avait devant lui un homme atteint d’hydropisie. 03 Prenant la parole, Jésus s’adressa aux docteurs de la Loi et aux pharisiens pour leur demander : « Est-il permis, oui ou non, de faire une guérison le jour du sabbat ? » 04 Ils gardèrent le silence. Tenant alors le malade, Jésus le guérit et le laissa aller. 05 Puis il leur dit : « Si l’un de vous a un fils ou un bœuf qui tombe dans un puits, ne va-t-il pas aussitôt l’en retirer, même le jour du sabbat ? » 06 Et ils furent incapables de trouver une réponse.

Lecture English	1 My children,* I am writing this to you so that you may not commit sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous one.a 2 He is expiation for our sins, and not for our sins only but for those of the whole world.b 3 The way we may be sure* that we know him is to keep his commandments.c 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him.d 5 But whoever keeps his word, the love of God is truly perfected in him. This is the way we may know that we are in union with him:e 6 whoever claims to abide in him ought to live [just] as he lived. The New Commandment.* 7 Beloved, I am writing no new commandment to you but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard.f 8 And yet I do write a new commandment to you, which holds true in him and among you,* for the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.g 9 Whoever says he is in the light, yet hates his brother, is still in the darkness.h 10 Whoever loves his brother remains in the light, and there is nothing in him to cause a fall.i 11 Whoever hates his brother is in darkness; he walks in darkness and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
Evangile English	1 a On a sabbath he went to dine at the home of one of the leading Pharisees, and the people there were observing him carefully.b 2 In front of him there was a man suffering from dropsy.* 3 Jesus spoke to the scholars of the law and Pharisees in reply, asking, “Is it lawful to cure on the sabbath or not?”c 4 But they kept silent; so he took the man and, after he had healed him, dismissed him. 5 Then he said to them, “Who among you, if your son or ox* falls into a cistern, would not immediately pull him out on the sabbath day?”d 6 But they were unable to answer his question.e
