Lecture Arabic	1 صَادِقَةٌ هِيَ الكَلِمَةُ أَنَّ مَنْ يَبْتَغي الأُسْقُفِيَّةَ يَشْتَهِي عَمَلاً صَالِحًا. 2 ويَجِبُ أَنْ يَكُونَ الأُسْقُفُ بِلا لَوْم، وَأَنْ يَكُونَ قَدْ تَزَوَّجَ مَرَّةً واحِدَة، يَقِظًا، رَزِينًا، لائِقًا، مِضْيَافًا، قادِرًا على التَّعْليم، 3 غَيرَ مُدْمِنٍ لِلخَمْر، ولا تُسْرِعُ يَدُهُ إِلى الضَّرْب، بَلْ حَلِيمًا، لا يُخَاصِم، ولا يُحِبُّ الـمَال، 4 يُحْسِنُ تَدْبِيرَ بَيتِهِ، ويَضْبِطُ أَوْلاَدَهُ في الـخُضُوعِ بكُلِّ رَصَانَة. 5 فَمَنْ لا يَعْرِفُ أَنْ يُدَبِّرَ بَيْتَهُ، فَكَيفَ يَعتَنِي بِكَنِيسَةِ الله؟ 6 ويَجِبُ أَلاَّ يَكُونَ الأُسْقُفُ حَدِيثَ العَهْدِ في الإِيْمَان، لِئَلاَّ تُعْمِيَهُ الكِبْرِيَاء، فَيَقَعَ تَحْتَ الـحُكْمِ مِثْلَ إِبْلِيس. 7 ويَجِبُ أَيضًا أَنْ تَكُونَ لَهُ شَهَادَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ مِنَ الـَّذِينَ في خَارِجِ الـجَمَاعَة، لِئَلاَّ يَقَعَ في فَخِّ إِبْلِيس ويَصِيرَ عُرْضَةً لِلتَّعْيير. 8 كَذـلِكَ يَجِبُ أَنْ يَكُونَ الشَّمامِسَةُ ذَوِي رَصَانَة، لا ذَوِي لِسَانَين، غَيْرَ مُدْمِنِينَ لِلخَمْر، ولا سَاعِينَ إِلى رِبْحٍ خَسِيس، 9 مُتَمَسِّكِينَ بِسِرِّ الإِيْمَانِ بِضَمِيرٍ طَاهِر. 10 وهـؤُلاءِ أَيضًا فَلْيُخْتَبَرُوا أَوَّلاً، ثُمَّ يُبَاشِرُوا خِدْمَتَهُم، إِنْ وُجِدُوا بِلا لَوم. 11 كَذـلِكَ يَجِبُ أَنْ تَكُونَ الشَّمَّاسَاتُ رَصِينَات، لا مُفْتِنَات، يَقِظَات، أَمِينَاتٍ في كُلِّ شَيء. 12 وَلْيَكُنِ الشَّمامِسَةُ مِمَّنْ تَزَوَّجُوا مَرَّةً وَاحِدَة، وقَدْ أَحْسَنُوا تَدْبِيرَ أَوْلادِهِم وبُيُوتِهِم. 13 فإِنَّ الـَّذِينَ يُحْسِنُونَ الـخِدْمَةَ يُحْرِزُونَ لأَنْفُسِهِم مَرْتَبَةً حَسَنَة، وجُرْأَةً عَظِيمَةً في الإِيْمَانِ بالـمَسِيحِ يَسُوع.
Evangile Arabic	35 وسَأَلَهُ وَاحِدٌ مِنْهُم عَالِمٌ بِالتَّورَاة، لِيُجَرِّبَهُ قَائِلاً: 36 "يَا مُعَلِّم، أَيُّ وَصِيَّةٍ هِيَ العُظْمَى في التَّورَاة؟". 37 فقَالَ لَهُ: "أَحْبِبِ الرَّبَّ إِلـهَكَ بِكُلِّ قَلْبِكَ، وكُلِّ نَفْسِكَ، وكُلِّ فِكْرِكَ. 38 هـذِهِ هِيَ الوَصِيَّةُ الأُولى والعُظْمَى. 39 والثَّانِيَةُ تُشْبِهُهَا: أَحْبِبْ قَريبَكَ كَنَفْسِكَ! 40 بِهَاتَينِ الوَصِيَّتَينِ تَتَعَلَّقُ التَّورَاةُ كُلُّهَا والأَنْبِيَاء".

Lecture French	01 Voici une parole digne de foi : si quelqu’un aspire à la responsabilité d’une communauté, c’est une belle tâche qu’il désire. 02 Le responsable doit être irréprochable, époux d’une seule femme, un homme sobre, raisonnable, équilibré, accueillant, capable d’enseigner, 03 ni buveur ni brutal mais bienveillant, ni querelleur ni cupide. 04 Il faut qu’il dirige bien les gens de sa propre maison, qu’il obtienne de ses enfants l’obéissance et se fasse respecter. 05 Car si quelqu’un ne sait pas diriger sa propre maison, comment pourrait-il prendre en charge une Église de Dieu ? 06 Il ne doit pas être un nouveau converti ; sinon, aveuglé par l’orgueil, il pourrait tomber sous la même condamnation que le diable. 07 Il faut aussi que les gens du dehors portent sur lui un bon témoignage, pour qu’il échappe au mépris des hommes et au piège du diable. 08 Les diacres, eux aussi, doivent être dignes de respect, n’avoir qu’une parole, ne pas s’adonner à la boisson, refuser les profits malhonnêtes, 09 garder le mystère de la foi dans une conscience pure. 10 On les mettra d’abord à l’épreuve ; ensuite, s’il n’y a rien à leur reprocher, ils serviront comme diacres. 11 Les femmes, elles aussi, doivent être dignes de respect, ne pas être médisantes, mais sobres et fidèles en tout. 12 Que le diacre soit l’époux d’une seule femme, qu’il mène bien ses enfants et sa propre famille. 13 Les diacres qui remplissent bien leur ministère obtiennent ainsi une position estimable et beaucoup d’assurance grâce à leur foi au Christ Jésus.
Evangile French	35 et l’un d’entre eux, un docteur de la Loi, posa une question à Jésus pour le mettre à l’épreuve : 36 « Maître, dans la Loi, quel est le grand commandement ? » 37 Jésus lui répondit : « Tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme et de tout ton esprit. 38 Voilà le grand, le premier commandement. 39 Et le second lui est semblable : Tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même. 40 De ces deux commandements dépend toute la Loi, ainsi que les Prophètes. »

Lecture English	1 * This saying is trustworthy:* whoever aspires to the office of bishop desires a noble task.a 2 Therefore, a bishop must be irreproachable, married only once, temperate, self-controlled, decent, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not a drunkard, not aggressive, but gentle, not contentious, not a lover of money.b 4 He must manage his own household well, keeping his children under control with perfect dignity; 5 for if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how can he take care of the church of God? 6 He should not be a recent convert, so that he may not become conceited and thus incur the devil’s punishment.* 7 He must also have a good reputation among outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, the devil’s trap.c 8 * Similarly, deacons must be dignified, not deceitful, not addicted to drink, not greedy for sordid gain, 9 holding fast to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 Moreover, they should be tested first; then, if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons. 11 Women,* similarly, should be dignified, not slanderers, but temperate and faithful in everything.d 12 Deacons may be married only once and must manage their children and their households well. 13 Thus those who serve well as deacons gain good standing and much confidence in their faith in Christ Jesus.
Evangile English	35 and one of them [a scholar of the law]* tested him by asking, 36 “Teacher,* which commandment in the law is the greatest?” 37 j He said to him,* “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the greatest and the first commandment. 39 k The second is like it:* You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 * l The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”
