Lecture Arabic	18 إِنَّ كَلِمَةَ الصَّلِيبِ عِنْدَ الـهَالِكِينَ حَمَاقَة، أَمَّا عِنْدَنَا نَحْنُ الـمُخَلَّصِينَ فَهِيَ قُوَّةُ الله؛ 19 لأَنَّهُ مَكْتُوب: "سَأُبِيدُ حِكْمَةَ الـحُكَمَاء، وأَرْذُلُ فَهْمَ الفُهَمَاء!". 20 فَأَيْنَ الـحَكِيم؟ وأَيْنَ عَالِمُ الشَّرِيعَة؟ وأَيْنَ البَاحِثُ في أُمُورِ هـذَا الدَّهْر؟ أَمَا جَعَلَ اللهُ حِكْمَةَ هـذَا العَالَمِ حَمَاقَة؟ 21 فَبِمَا أَنَّ العَالَمَ بِحِكْمَتِهِ مَا عَرَفَ اللهَ بِحَسَبِ حِكْمَةِ الله، رَضِيَ اللهُ أَنْ يُخَلِّصَ بِحَمَاقَةِ البِشَارَةِ الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُون؛ 22 لأَنَّ اليَهُودَ يَطْلُبُونَ الآيَات، واليُونَانِيِّينَ يَلْتَمِسُونَ الـحِكْمَة. 23 أَمَّا نَحْنُ فَنُنَادِي بِمَسِيحٍ مَصْلُوب، هُوَ عِثَارٌ لِليَهُودِ وحَمَاقَةٌ لِلأُمَم. 24 وأَمَّا لِلمَدْعُوِّينَ أَنْفُسِهِم، مِنَ اليَهُودِ واليُونَانِيِّين، فَهُوَ مَسِيحٌ، قُوَّةُ اللهِ وَحِكْمَةُ الله؛ 25 فَمَا يَبْدُو أَنَّهُ حَمَاقَةٌ مِنَ اللهِ هُوَ أَحْكَمُ مِنَ النَّاس، ومَا يَبْدُو أَنَّهُ ضُعْفٌ مِنَ اللهِ هُوَ أَقْوَى مِنَ النَّاس.
Evangile Arabic	20 وكَانَ بَينَ الصَّاعِدِينَ لِيَسْجُدُوا في العِيد، بَعْضُ اليُونَانِيِّين. 21 فَدَنَا هـؤُلاءِ مِنْ فِيلِبُّسَ الَّذي مِنْ بَيْتَ صَيْدَا الـجَلِيل، وسَأَلُوهُ قَائِلين:"يَا سَيِّد، نُرِيدُ أَنْ نَرَى يَسُوع". 22 فَجَاءَ فِيلِبُّسُ وقَالَ لأَنْدرَاوُس، وجَاءَ أَنْدرَاوُسُ وفِيلِبُّسُ وقَالا لِيَسُوع. 23 فَأَجَابَهُمَا يَسُوعُ قَائِلاً: "لَقَدْ حَانَتِ السَّاعَةُ لِكَي يُمَجَّدَ ابْنُ الإِنْسَان. 24 أَلـحَقَّ الـحَقَّ أَقُولُ لَكُم: إِنَّ حَبَّةَ الـحِنْطَة، إِنْ لَمْ تَقَعْ في الأَرضِ وتَمُتْ، تَبْقَى وَاحِدَة. وإِنْ مَاتَتْ تَأْتِي بِثَمَرٍ كَثِير. 25 مَنْ يُحِبُّ نَفْسَهُ يَفْقِدُهَا، ومَنْ يُبْغِضُهَا في هـذَا العَالَمِ يَحْفَظُهَا لِحَيَاةٍ أَبَدِيَّة. 26 مَنْ يَخْدُمْنِي فَلْيَتْبَعْنِي. وحَيْثُ أَكُونُ أَنَا، فَهُنَاكَ يَكُونُ أَيْضًا خَادِمِي. مَنْ يَخْدُمْنِي يُكَرِّمْهُ الآب. 27 نَفْسِي الآنَ مُضْطَرِبَة، فَمَاذَا أَقُول؟ يَا أَبَتِ، نَجِّنِي مِنْ هـذِهِ السَّاعَة؟ ولـكِنْ مِنْ أَجْلِ هـذَا بَلَغْتُ إِلى هـذِهِ السَّاعَة! 28 يَا أَبَتِ، مَجِّدِ اسْمَكَ". فَجَاءَ صَوْتٌ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ يَقُول: "قَدْ مَجَّدْتُ، وسَأُمَجِّد". 29 وسَمِعَ الـجَمْعُ الـحَاضِرُ فَقَالُوا: "إِنَّهُ رَعد". وقَالَ آخَرُون: "إِنَّ مَلاكًا خَاطَبَهُ". 30 أَجَابَ يَسُوعُ وقَال: "مَا كَانَ هـذَا الصَّوْتُ مِنْ أَجْلِي، بَلْ مِنْ أَجْلِكُم. 31 هِيَ الآنَ دَيْنُونَةُ هـذَا العَالَم. أَلآنَ يُطْرَدُ سُلْطَانُ هـذَا العَالَمِ خَارِجًا. 32 وأَنَا إِذَا رُفِعْتُ عَنِ الأَرض، جَذَبْتُ إِليَّ الـجَمِيع".

Lecture French	18 Car le langage de la croix est folie pour ceux qui vont à leur perte, mais pour ceux qui vont vers leur salut, pour nous, il est puissance de Dieu. 19 L’Écriture dit en effet : Je mènerai à sa perte la sagesse des sages, et l’intelligence des intelligents, je la rejetterai. 20 Où est-il, le sage ? Où est-il, le scribe ? Où est-il, le raisonneur d’ici-bas ? La sagesse du monde, Dieu ne l’a-t-il pas rendue folle ? 21 Puisque, en effet, par une disposition de la sagesse de Dieu, le monde, avec toute sa sagesse, n’a pas su reconnaître Dieu, il a plu à Dieu de sauver les croyants par cette folie qu’est la proclamation de l’Évangile. 22 Alors que les Juifs réclament des signes miraculeux, et que les Grecs recherchent une sagesse, 23 nous, nous proclamons un Messie crucifié, scandale pour les Juifs, folie pour les nations païennes. 24 Mais pour ceux que Dieu appelle, qu’ils soient Juifs ou Grecs, ce Messie, ce Christ, est puissance de Dieu et sagesse de Dieu. 25 Car ce qui est folie de Dieu est plus sage que les hommes, et ce qui est faiblesse de Dieu est plus fort que les hommes.
Evangile French	20 Il y avait quelques Grecs parmi ceux qui étaient montés à Jérusalem pour adorer Dieu pendant la fête de la Pâque. 21 Ils abordèrent Philippe, qui était de Bethsaïde en Galilée, et lui firent cette demande : « Nous voudrions voir Jésus. » 22 Philippe va le dire à André, et tous deux vont le dire à Jésus. 23 Alors Jésus leur déclare : « L’heure est venue où le Fils de l’homme doit être glorifié. 24 Amen, amen, je vous le dis : si le grain de blé tombé en terre ne meurt pas, il reste seul ; mais s’il meurt, il porte beaucoup de fruit. 25 Qui aime sa vie la perd ; qui s’en détache en ce monde la gardera pour la vie éternelle. 26 Si quelqu’un veut me servir, qu’il me suive ; et là où moi je suis, là aussi sera mon serviteur. Si quelqu’un me sert, mon Père l’honorera. 27 Maintenant mon âme est bouleversée. Que vais-je dire ? “Père, sauve-moi de cette heure” ? – Mais non ! C’est pour cela que je suis parvenu à cette heure-ci ! 28 Père, glorifie ton nom ! » Alors, du ciel vint une voix qui disait : « Je l’ai glorifié et je le glorifierai encore. » 29 En l’entendant, la foule qui se tenait là disait que c’était un coup de tonnerre. D’autres disaient : « C’est un ange qui lui a parlé. » 30 Mais Jésus leur répondit : « Ce n’est pas pour moi qu’il y a eu cette voix, mais pour vous. 31 Maintenant a lieu le jugement de ce monde ; maintenant le prince de ce monde va être jeté dehors ; 32 et moi, quand j’aurai été élevé de terre, j’attirerai à moi tous les hommes. »

Lecture English	18 The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.k 19 For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the learning of the learned I will set aside.”l 20 Where is the wise one? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of the world foolish?m 21 * For since in the wisdom of God the world did not come to know God through wisdom, it was the will of God through the foolishness of the proclamation to save those who have faith. 22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom,n 23 but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,o 24 but to those who are called, Jews and Greeks alike, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

The Father will honor whoever serves me.t 27 “I am troubled* now. Yet what should I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But it was for this purpose that I came to this hour.u 28 Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it and will glorify it again.”v 29 The crowd there heard it and said it was thunder; but others said, “An angel has spoken to him.”w 30 Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come for my sake but for yours.x 31 Now is the time of judgment on this world; now the ruler of this world* will be driven out.y 32 And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.”z
