Lecture Arabic	1 هـذِهِ رِسَالةٌ ثانِيَةٌ أَكْتُبُهَا إِلَيْكُم، أَيُّهَا الأَحِبَّاء، وفيهَا أُوقِظُ أَذْهَانَكُمُ السَّلِيمَة، 2 لكَي تَتَذَكَّرُوا الأَقْوَالَ الَّتي نَطَقَ بِهَا مِنْ قَبْلُ الأَنْبِياءُ القِدِّيسُون، ووصِيَّةَ الرَّبِّ والـمُخَلِّصِ الـَّتي سلَّمَهَا إِلَيْكُم رُسُلُكُم. 3 فَاعْلَمُوا قَبْلَ كُلِّ شَيءٍ أَنَّهُ سَيَأْتِي في آخِرِ الأَيَّامِ أُنَاسٌ يَسْتَهزِئُونَ اسْتِهْزَاءً، ويَسْلُكُونَ وَفْقَ شَهَواتِهِم، 4 ويَقُولُون: "أَيْنَ الوَعْدُ بِمَجِيئِهِ؟ مَاتَ آبَاؤُنَا، وكُلُّ شَيء، مُنذُ بَدْءِ الـخَلِيقَة، بَاقٍ عَلى حَالِهِ!". 5 فَهُم يتَجَاهَلُونَ عَمْدًا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ كَانَتْ مُنْذُ القَدِيم، والأَرْضَ قَامَتْ مِنَ الـمَاءِ وَبِالـمَاءِ بِكَلِمَةِ الله، 6 وبِهَا غَرِقَ عالَمُ الأَمسِ بِالـمَاءِ فَهَلِكَ. 7 أَمَّا السَّمَاوَاتُ والأَرْضُ في أَيَّامِنَا، فَهِيَ بِالكَلِمَةِ نَفْسِهَا مُدَّخَرَةٌ لِلنَّار، مَحْفُوظَةٌ لِيَومِ الدَّيْنُونَةِ وهَلاكِ النَّاسِ الكَافِرِين. 8 ولـكِنْ لا تَجْهَلُوا، أَيُّهَا الأَحِبَّاء، أَنَّ يَوْمًا واحِدًا عِنْدَ الرَّبِّ كَأَلفِ سَنَة، وأَلْفَ سَنَةٍ كَيَومٍ واحِد. 9 إِنَّ الرَّبَّ لا يُبْطِئُ في إِتْمَامِ وَعْدِه، كَمَا يَزْعَمُ البَعْض، بَلْ إِنَّهُ يتَأَنَّى مِنْ أَجْلِكُم، وهُوَ لا يَشَاءُ أَنْ يَهْلِكَ بَعْضُكُم، بَلْ أَنْ تُقْبِلُوا جَمِيعُكُم إِلى التَّوْبَة.
Evangile Arabic	31 هِيَ الآنَ دَيْنُونَةُ هـذَا العَالَم. أَلآنَ يُطْرَدُ سُلْطَانُ هـذَا العَالَمِ خَارِجًا. 32 وأَنَا إِذَا رُفِعْتُ عَنِ الأَرض، جَذَبْتُ إِليَّ الـجَمِيع". 33 قَالَ هـذَا لِيَدُلَّ عَلى أَيِّ مِيتَةٍ كَانَ مُزْمِعًا أَنْ يَمُوتَهَا. 34 فَأَجَابَهُ الـجَمْع: "نَحْنُ سَمِعْنَا مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ أَنَّ الـمَسِيحَ يَبْقَى إِلى الأَبَد. فَكَيْفَ تَقُولُ أَنْتَ: إِنَّ عَلى ابْنِ الإِنْسَانِ أَنْ يُرْفَع؟ مَنْ هُوَ ابْنُ الإِنْسَانِ هـذَا؟". 35 قَالَ لَهُم يَسُوع: "أَلنُّورُ بَاقٍ بَيْنَكُم زَمَنًا قَليلاً. سِيرُوا مَا دَامَ لَكُمُ النُّور، لِئَلاَّ يَدْهَمَكُمُ الظَّلام. فَمَنْ يَسيرُ في الظَّلامِ لا يَدْرِي إِلى أَيْنَ يَذْهَب. 36 آمِنُوا بِالنُّور، مَا دَامَ لَكُمُ النُّور، لِتَصِيرُوا أَبْنَاءَ النُّور". قَالَ يَسُوعُ هـذَا، ومَضَى مُتَوارِيًا عَنْهُم.

Lecture French	01 Bien-aimés, c’est déjà la deuxième lettre que je vous écris. Dans l’une et l’autre, je fais appel à votre mémoire, afin de réveiller en vous une intelligence claire, 02 pour que vous vous souveniez des paroles dites à l’avance par les saints prophètes, et du commandement de vos apôtres, qui est celui du Seigneur et Sauveur. 03 Sachez d’abord que, dans les derniers jours, des moqueurs viendront avec leurs moqueries, allant au gré de leurs convoitises, 04 et disant : « Où en est la promesse de son avènement ? En effet, depuis que les pères se sont endormis dans la mort, tout reste pareil depuis le début de la création. » 05 En prétendant cela, ils oublient que, jadis, il y avait des cieux, ainsi qu’une terre sortie de l’eau et constituée au milieu de l’eau grâce à la parole de Dieu. 06 Par ces mêmes éléments, le monde d’alors périt dans les eaux du déluge. 07 Mais les cieux et la terre de maintenant, la même parole les réserve et les garde pour le feu, en vue du jour où les hommes impies seront jugés et périront. 08 Bien-aimés, il est une chose qui ne doit pas vous échapper : pour le Seigneur, un seul jour est comme mille ans, et mille ans sont comme un seul jour. 09 Le Seigneur ne tarde pas à tenir sa promesse, alors que certains prétendent qu’il a du retard. Au contraire, il prend patience envers vous, car il ne veut pas en laisser quelques-uns se perdre, mais il veut que tous parviennent à la conversion.
Evangile French	31 Maintenant a lieu le jugement de ce monde ; maintenant le prince de ce monde va être jeté dehors ; 32 et moi, quand j’aurai été élevé de terre, j’attirerai à moi tous les hommes. » 33 Il signifiait par là de quel genre de mort il allait mourir. 34 La foule lui répliqua : « Nous, nous avons appris dans la Loi que le Christ demeure pour toujours. Alors toi, comment peux-tu dire : “Il faut que le Fils de l’homme soit élevé” ? Qui est donc ce Fils de l’homme ? » 35 Jésus leur déclara : « Pour peu de temps encore, la lumière est parmi vous ; marchez, tant que vous avez la lumière, afin que les ténèbres ne vous arrêtent pas ; celui qui marche dans les ténèbres ne sait pas où il va. 36 Pendant que vous avez la lumière, croyez en la lumière : vous serez alors des fils de lumière. » Ainsi parla Jésus. Puis il les quitta et se cacha loin d’eux.

Lecture English	1 * This is now, beloved, the second letter I am writing to you; through them by way of reminder I am trying to stir up your sincere disposition, 2 to recall the words previously spoken by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and savior through your apostles.a 3 Know this first of all, that in the last days scoffers* will come [to] scoff, living according to their own desiresb 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of his coming?* From the time when our ancestors fell asleep, everything has remained as it was from the beginning of creation.”c 5 They deliberately ignore the fact that the heavens existed of old and earth was formed out of water and through water* by the word of God;d 6 through these the world that then existed was destroyed,e deluged with water.* 7 The present heavens and earth have been reserved by the same word for fire, kept for the day of judgment and of destruction of the godless.f 8 * But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years* and a thousand years like one day.g 9 The Lord does not delay his promise, as some regard “delay,” but he is patient with you, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.h
Evangile English	31 Now is the time of judgment on this world; now the ruler of this world* will be driven out.y 32 And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.”z 33 He said this indicating the kind of death he would die. 34 So the crowd answered him, “We have heard from the law that the Messiah remains forever.* Then how can you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?”a 35 Jesus said to them, “The light will be among you only a little while. Walk while you have the light, so that darkness may not overcome you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where he is going.b 36 While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of the light.”c
