Lecture Arabic	10 أَمَّا يَومُ الرَّبِّ فيَأْتِي كاللِّصّ، وفِيهِ السَّمَاوَاتُ تَزُولُ بِدَوِيٍّ قَاصِف، وعَنَاصِرُ الكَوْنِ تَحْتَرِقُ وتَنْحَلّ، والأَرْضُ ومَصْنُوعَاتُهَا تَحْتَرِق. 11 فإِنْ كَانَتْ تِلْكَ الأَشْيَاءُ جَمِيعُهَا ستَنْحَلُّ هـكَذَا، فَأَيُّ سِيرَةٍ مُقَدَّسَةٍ إِذًا، وأَيُّ تَقْوَى يَجِبُ عَلَيْكُم أَنْ تَسْلُكُوا فِيهَا! 12 إِنَّكُم تَنْتَظِرُونَ وتَسْتَعْجِلُونَ مَجِيءَ يَومِ الله، الَّذي فِيهِ ستَلْتَهِبُ السَّمَاوَاتُ وتَنْحَلّ، وتَحْتَرِقُ العَنَاصِرُ وتَذُوب. 13 ولـكِنَّنَا نَنْتَظِرُ، وَفْقَ وَعْدِهِ، سَـمَاوَاتٍ جَدِيدَة، وأَرْضًا جَدِيدَةً يَسْكُنُ البِرُّ فيهَا. 14 لِذـلِك، أَيُّهَا الأَحِبَّاء، أُبْذُلُوا جَهْدَكُم، وأَنْتُم تَنْتَظِرُونَ تِلْكَ الأُمُور، في أَنْ تَكُونُوا عِنْدَ اللهِ في سَلامٍ بِلا وصْمَةٍ ولا عَيْب. 15 واحْسَبُوا طُولَ أَنَاةِ رَبِّنَا خَلاصًا، كمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيْكُم أَيْضًا أَخُونَا الـحَبيبُ بُولُس، بِحَسَبِ الـحِكْمَةِ الَّتي وُهِبَتْ لَهُ، 16 كمَا هِيَ الـحَالُ في جَمِيعِ الرَّسائِل، الَّتي يتَكَلَّمُ فيهَا عَنْ تِلْكَ الأُمُور. وفِيهَا أُمُورٌ يَصْعُبُ فَهْمُهَا، ويُحَرِّفُهَا الـجُهَّالُ وضُعَفَاءُ النُّفُوس، كَمَا يُحَرِّفُونَ الكُتُبَ البَاقِيَةَ لِهَلاكِهِم. 17 أَمَّا أَنْتُم، أَيُّهَا الأَحِبَّاء، وقَدْ صِرْتُم عَارِفِينَ بِذـلِكَ، فتَنَبَّهُوا لِئَلاَّ تَنْجَرُّوا بِضَلالِ الفَاسِقِين، فَتَسْقُطُوا مِنْ ثَبَاتِكُم. 18 وانْمُوا في نِعْمَةِ ومَعْرِفَةِ رَبِّنَا ومُخَلِّصِنَا يَسُوعَ الـمَسِيح، لَهُ الـمَجْدُ الآنَ وإِلى يَوْمِ الأَبَد. آمين.
Evangile Arabic	31 وبَدَأَ يَسُوعُ يُعَلِّمُ التَّلامِيذَ أَنَّهُ يَجِبُ عَلَى ابْنِ الإِنْسَانِ أَنْ يَتَأَلَّمَ كَثِيرًا، ويَرْذُلَهُ الشُّيُوخُ والأَحْبَارُ والكَتَبَة، ويُقْتَل، وبَعْدَ ثلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ يَقُوم. 32 وكانَ يَقُولُ هـذَا الكلامَ عَلانِيَة. فأَخَذَهُ بُطْرُسُ عَلى حِدَة، وبَدَأَ يَنْتَهِرُهُ. 33 فأَشَاحَ يَسُوعُ بِوَجْهِهِ، والتَفَتَ إِلى تلامِيذِهِ، وانْتَهَرَ بُطْرُسَ وقَالَ لَهُ: "إِذهَبْ ورَائِي، يَا شَيْطَان! لأَنَّكَ لا تُفَكِّرُ تَفْكِيرَ اللهِ بَلْ تَفْكِيرَ البَشَر!". 34 ثُمَّ دعَا الـجَمْعَ وتَلامِيذَهُ، وقَالَ لَهُم: "مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَتْبَعَنِي فَلْيَكْفُرْ بِنَفْسِهِ ويَحْمِلْ صَلِيبَهُ وَيَتْبَعْنِي، 35 لأَنَّ مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُخَلِّصَ نَفْسَهُ يَفْقِدُها، ومَنْ فَقَدَ نَفْسَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي وَمِنْ أَجْلِ الإِنْجِيلِ يُخَلِّصُها. 36 فمَاذَا يَنْفَعُ الإِنْسَانَ لَو رَبِحَ العَالَمَ كُلَّهُ وخَسِرَ نَفْسَهُ؟ 37 ومَاذَا يُعْطِي الإِنْسَانُ بَدَلاً عَنْ نَفْسِهِ؟ 38 مَنْ يَسْتَحِي بِي وَبِكلامِي، في هـذَا الـجِيلِ الزَّانِي الـخَاطِئ، يَسْتَحِي بِهِ ابْنُ الإِنْسَانِ عِنْدَمَا يَأْتِي في مَجْدِ أَبْيهِ مَعَ مَلائِكَتِهِ القِدِّيسِين".

Lecture French	10 Cependant le jour du Seigneur viendra, comme un voleur. Alors les cieux disparaîtront avec fracas, les éléments embrasés seront dissous, la terre, avec tout ce qu’on a fait ici-bas, ne pourra y échapper. 11 Ainsi, puisque tout cela est en voie de dissolution, vous voyez quels hommes vous devez être, en vivant dans la sainteté et la piété, 12 vous qui attendez, vous qui hâtez l’avènement du jour de Dieu, ce jour où les cieux enflammés seront dissous, où les éléments embrasés seront en fusion. 13 Car ce que nous attendons, selon la promesse du Seigneur, c’est un ciel nouveau et une terre nouvelle où résidera la justice. 14 C’est pourquoi, bien-aimés, en attendant cela, faites tout pour qu’on vous trouve sans tache ni défaut, dans la paix. 15 Et dites-vous bien que la longue patience de notre Seigneur, c’est votre salut, comme vous l’a écrit également Paul, notre frère bien-aimé, avec la sagesse qui lui a été donnée. 16 C’est ce qu’il dit encore dans toutes les lettres où il traite de ces sujets ; on y trouve des textes difficiles à comprendre, que torturent des gens sans instruction et sans solidité, comme ils le font pour le reste des Écritures : cela les mène à leur propre perdition. 17 Quant à vous, bien-aimés, vous voilà prévenus ; prenez garde : ne vous laissez pas entraîner dans l’égarement des gens dévoyés, et n’abandonnez pas l’attitude de fermeté qui est la vôtre. 18 Mais continuez à grandir dans la grâce et la connaissance de notre Seigneur et Sauveur, Jésus Christ. À lui la gloire, dès maintenant et jusqu’au jour de l’éternité. Amen.
Evangile French	31 Il commença à leur enseigner qu’il fallait que le Fils de l’homme souffre beaucoup, qu’il soit rejeté par les anciens, les grands prêtres et les scribes, qu’il soit tué, et que, trois jours après, il ressuscite. 32 Jésus disait cette parole ouvertement. Pierre, le prenant à part, se mit à lui faire de vifs reproches. 33 Mais Jésus se retourna et, voyant ses disciples, il interpella vivement Pierre : « Passe derrière moi, Satan ! Tes pensées ne sont pas celles de Dieu, mais celles des hommes. » 34 Appelant la foule avec ses disciples, il leur dit : « Si quelqu’un veut marcher à ma suite, qu’il renonce à lui-même, qu’il prenne sa croix et qu’il me suive. 35 Car celui qui veut sauver sa vie la perdra ; mais celui qui perdra sa vie à cause de moi et de l’Évangile la sauvera. 36 Quel avantage, en effet, un homme a-t-il à gagner le monde entier si c’est au prix de sa vie ? 37 Que pourrait-il donner en échange de sa vie ? 38 Celui qui a honte de moi et de mes paroles dans cette génération adultère et pécheresse, le Fils de l’homme aussi aura honte de lui, quand il viendra dans la gloire de son Père avec les saints anges. »

Lecture English	10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief,* and then the heavens will pass away with a mighty roar and the elements will be dissolved by fire, and the earth and everything done on it will be found out.i Exhortation to Preparedness.* 11 Since everything is to be dissolved in this way, what sort of persons ought [you] to be, conducting yourselves in holiness and devotion,j 12 * waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God,k because of which the heavens will be dissolved in flames and the elements melted by fire. 13 But according to his promise we await new heavens and a new earth* in which righteousness dwells.l 14 Therefore, beloved, since you await these things, be eager to be found without spot or blemish before him, at peace. 15 And consider the patience of our Lord as salvation, as our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, also wrote to you,m 16 speaking of these things* as he does in all his letters. In them there are some things hard to understand that the ignorant and unstable distort to their own destruction, just as they do the other scriptures. 17 Therefore, beloved, since you are forewarned, be on your guard not to be led into the error of the unprincipled and to fall from your own stability.n 18 But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory now and to the day of eternity. [Amen.]o
Evangile English	31 Jesus then said to those Jews who believed in him,* “If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”t 33 They answered him, “We are descendants of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone.* How can you say, ‘You will become free’?”u 34 Jesus answered them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.v 35 A slave does not remain in a household forever, but a son* always remains.w 36 So if a son frees you, then you will truly be free. 37 I know that you are descendants of Abraham. But you are trying to kill me, because my word has no room among you. 38 * I tell you what I have seen in the Father’s presence; then do what you have heard from the Father.”
