Lecture Arabic	12 فَإِنَّ فَخْرَنَا هوَ شَهَادَةُ ضَمِيرِنَا بِأَنَّنَا تَصَرَّفْنَا في العَالَم، وخُصُوصًا عِنْدَكُم، بِبَسَاطَةِ اللهِ وَصِدْقِهِ، لا بِحِكْمَةٍ بَشَرِيَّةٍ بَلْ بِنِعْمَةٍ مِنَ الله. 13 فَنَحْنُ لا نَكْتُبُ إِلَيْكُم بِشَيءٍ آخَرَ سِوَى مَا تَقْرَأُونَ وتَفْهَمُون، وآمَلُ أَنْ تَفْهَمُوا فَهْمًا كَامِلاً 14 مَا لَمْ تَفْهَمُوهُ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً، وهوَ أَنَّنَا فَخْرُكُم كَمَا أَنَّكُم فَخْرُنَا، في يَوْمِ الرَّبِّ يَسُوع. 15 وأَنَا بِهـذِهِ الثِّقَةِ كُنْتُ عَازِمًا أَنْ آتِيَ إِلَيْكُم أَوَّلاً، لِكَيْ يَكُونَ لَكُم نِعْمَةٌ جَدِيدَة، 16 ثُمَّ أَعْبُرَ مِنْ عِنْدِكُم إِلى مَقْدُونِيَة، وأَعُودَ مِنْ مَقْدُونِيَةَ إِلَيْكُم، فَتُشَيِّعُونِي إِلى اليَهُودِيَّة. 17 إِذًا، إِنْ كُنْتُ قَدْ عَزَمْتُ عَلى ذـلِك، فَهَلْ أَكُونُ قَدْ تَصَرَّفْتُ بِخِفَّة؟ أَمْ أَكُونُ قَدْ فَعَلْتُ ذـلِكَ وَفْقًا لِمَنْطِقٍ بَشَرِيّ؟ فَيَكُونَ عِنْدِي نَعَمْ ولا في آنٍ وَاحِد! 18 أَمِينٌ هُوَ الله! فإِنَّ كَلامَنَا إِلَيْكُم لَمْ يَكُنْ نَعَمْ وَلا! 19 لأَنَّ ابْنَ اللهِ يَسُوعَ الـمَسِيحَ الَّذي بَشَّرْنَا بِهِ بَيْنَكُم، أَنَا وَسِلْوَانُسُ وطِيمُوتَاوُس، لَمْ يَكُنْ نَعَمْ وَلا، بَلْ كَانَ كُلُّ شَيءٍ فِيهِ نَعَم! 20 فَجَمِيعُ وُعُودِ اللهِ كَانَتْ فِيهِ نَعَم! لِذـلِكَ بِهِ أَيْضًا نَقُولُ لله: آمِين! لِمَجْدِ الله. 21 ولـكِنَّ اللهَ هُوَ الَّذي يُثَبِّتُنَا وإِيَّاكُم في الـمَسِيح، وهُوَ الَّذي مَسَحَنَا 22 وخَتَمَنَا، وجَعَلَ عُرْبُونَ الرُّوحِ في قُلُوبِنَا. 23 وأَنَا أُشْهِدُ اللهَ عَلى نَفْسِي أَنِّي، مُرَاعَاةً لِشُعُورِكُم، لَمْ آتِ إِلى قُورِنْتُس؛ 24 فَنَحْنُ لا نُرِيدُ التَّسَلُّطَ عَلى إِيْمَانِكُم، بَلْ نَحْنُ نَعْمَلُ مَعَكُم مِنْ أَجْلِ فَرَحِكُم، لأَنَّكُم بِالإِيْمَانِ ثَابِتُون.
Evangile Arabic	5 كَانَ في أَيَّامِ هِيرُودُس، مَلِكِ اليَهُودِيَّة، كَاهِنٌ اسْمُهُ زَكَرِيَّا، مِنْ فِرْقَةِ أَبِيَّا، لهُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ بَنَاتِ هَارُونَ اسْمُها إِليصَابَات. 6 وكَانَا كِلاهُمَا بَارَّيْنِ أَمَامَ الله، سَالِكَيْنِ في جَمِيعِ وصَايَا الرَّبِّ وأَحْكَامِه بِلا لَوْم. 7 ومَا كَانَ لَهُمَا وَلَد، لأَنَّ إِليصَابَاتَ كَانَتْ عَاقِرًا، وكَانَا كِلاهُمَا قَدْ طَعَنَا في أَيَّامِهِمَا. 8 وفِيمَا كَانَ زَكَرِيَّا يَقُومُ بِالـخِدْمَةِ الكَهَنُوتِيَّةِ أَمَامَ الله، في أَثْنَاءِ نَوْبَةِ فِرْقَتِهِ، 9 أَصَابَتْهُ القُرْعَة، بِحَسَبِ عَادَةِ الكَهَنُوت، لِيَدْخُلَ مَقْدِسَ هَيْكَلِ الرَّبِّ ويُحْرِقَ البَخُور. 10 وكَانَ كُلُّ جُمْهُورِ الشَّعْبِ يُصَلِّي في الـخَارِج، في أَثْنَاءِ إِحْرَاقِ البَخُور. 11 وَتَراءَى مَلاكُ الرَّبِّ لِزَكَرِيَّا وَاقِفًا مِنْ عَنْ يَمِينِ مَذْبَحِ البَخُور،

Lecture French	12 Ce qui fait notre fierté, c’est le témoignage de notre conscience ; nous avons vécu en ce monde, et particulièrement avec vous, dans la simplicité et la sincérité qui viennent de Dieu, non pas selon une sagesse purement humaine, mais selon la grâce de Dieu. 13 Nos lettres ne contiennent vraiment rien d’autre que ce que vous pouvez lire et comprendre. J’espère que vous comprendrez entièrement 14 ce que vous avez déjà compris en partie, à savoir : nous sommes pour vous un sujet de fierté, de même que vous le serez pour nous au jour du Seigneur Jésus. 15 Fort de cette assurance, je voulais d’abord aller chez vous pour que vous receviez une nouvelle grâce, 16 puis, en passant par chez vous, me rendre en Macédoine, enfin revenir de Macédoine chez vous, et recevoir votre aide pour aller en Judée. 17 Vouloir cela, était-ce faire preuve de légèreté ? Ou bien mes projets ne sont-ils que des projets purement humains, si bien qu’il y aurait chez moi en même temps le « oui » et le « non » ? 18 En fait, Dieu en est garant, la parole que nous vous adressons n’est pas « oui et non ». 19 Car le Fils de Dieu, le Christ Jésus, que nous avons annoncé parmi vous, Silvain et Timothée, avec moi, n’a pas été « oui et non » ; il n’a été que « oui ». 20 Et toutes les promesses de Dieu ont trouvé leur « oui » dans sa personne. Aussi est-ce par le Christ que nous disons à Dieu notre « amen », notre « oui », pour sa gloire. 21 Celui qui nous rend solides pour le Christ dans nos relations avec vous, celui qui nous a consacrés, c’est Dieu ; 22 il nous a marqués de son sceau, et il a mis dans nos cœurs l’Esprit, première avance sur ses dons. 23 Quant à moi, j’en prends Dieu à témoin sur ma vie : c’est pour vous ménager que je ne suis pas encore revenu à Corinthe. 24 Il ne s’agit pas pour nous d’exercer un pouvoir sur votre foi, mais de contribuer à votre joie, car, par la foi, vous tenez bon.
Evangile French	05 Il y avait, au temps d’Hérode le Grand, roi de Judée, un prêtre du groupe d’Abia, nommé Zacharie. Sa femme aussi était descendante d’Aaron ; elle s’appelait Élisabeth. 06 Ils étaient l’un et l’autre des justes devant Dieu : ils suivaient tous les commandements et les préceptes du Seigneur de façon irréprochable. 07 Ils n’avaient pas d’enfant, car Élisabeth était stérile et, de plus, ils étaient l’un et l’autre avancés en âge. 08 Or, tandis que Zacharie, durant la période attribuée aux prêtres de son groupe, assurait le service du culte devant Dieu, 09 il fut désigné par le sort, suivant l’usage des prêtres, pour aller offrir l’encens dans le sanctuaire du Seigneur. 10 Toute la multitude du peuple était en prière au dehors, à l’heure de l’offrande de l’encens. 11 L’ange du Seigneur lui apparut, debout à droite de l’autel de l’encens.

Lecture English	12 * For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you, with the simplicity and sincerity of God, [and] not by human wisdom but by the grace of God. 13 For we write you nothing but what you can read and understand, and I hope that you will understand completely, 14 as you have come to understand us partially, that we are your boast as you also are ours, on the day of [our] Lord Jesus.h 15 With this confidence I formerly intended to come* to you so that you might receive a double favor, 16 namely, to go by way of you to Macedonia, and then to come to you again on my return from Macedonia, and have you send me on my way to Judea.i 17 So when I intended this, did I act lightly?* Or do I make my plans according to human considerations, so that with me it is “yes, yes” and “no, no”?j 18 As God is faithful,* our word to you is not “yes” and “no.” 19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was proclaimed to you by us, Silvanus and Timothy and me, was not “yes” and “no,” but “yes” has been in him.k 20 For however many are the promises of God, their Yes is in him; therefore, the Amen from us also goes through him to God for glory.l 21 * But the one who gives us security with you in Christ and who anointed us is God;m 22 he has also put his seal upon us and given the Spirit in our hearts as a first installment.n Paul’s Change of Plan. 23 o But I call upon God as witness, on my life, that it is to spare you that I have not yet gone to Corinth.* 24 Not that we lord it over your faith; rather, we work together for your joy, for you stand firm in the faith.
Evangile English	5 In the days of Herod, King of Judea,* there was a priest named Zechariah of the priestly division of Abijah; his wife was from the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.c 6 Both were righteous in the eyes of God, observing all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blamelessly. 7 But they had no child,* because Elizabeth was barren and both were advanced in years.d 8 Once when he was serving as priest in his division’s turn before God, 9 according to the practice of the priestly service, he was chosen by lot to enter the sanctuary of the Lord to burn incense.e 10 Then, when the whole assembly of the people was praying outside at the hour of the incense offering, 11 the angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right of the altar of incense.
