Lecture Arabic	14 إِذًا فَمَاذَا نَقُول؟ أَيَكُونُ عِنْدَ اللهِ ظُلْمٌ؟ حَاشَا! 15 لأَنَّهُ يَقُولُ لِمُوسى: "أَرْحَمُ مَنْ أَرْحَم، وأَتَحَنَّنُ عَلى مَنْ أَتَحَنَّن!". 16 إِذًا فَالأَمْرُ لا يَتَعَلَّقُ بِالإِنسَانِ الَّذي يُرِيد، ولا بِالإِنسَانِ الَّذي يَسْعَى، بَلِ بِاللهِ الَّذي يَرْحَم؛ 17 لأَنَّ اللهَ يَقُولُ في الكِتَابِ لِفِرْعَون: "إِنِّي لِهـذَا أَقَمْتُكَ، لِكَي أُظْهِرَ فِيكَ قُوَّتي، وَلِكَي يُنَادَى بِاسْمي في الأَرْضِ كُلِّهَا". 18 إِذًا فَهوَ يَرْحَمُ مَنْ يَشَاء، ويُقَسِّي قَلبَ مَنْ يَشَاء.
Evangile Arabic	9 وفيمَا هُمْ نَازِلُونَ مِنَ الـجَبَلِ أَوْصَاهُم يَسُوعُ قَائِلاً: "لا تُخْبِرُوا أَحَدًا بِهـذِهِ الرُّؤْيَا إِلى أَنْ يَكُونَ ابْنُ الإِنْسَانِ قَدْ قَامَ مِنْ بَيْنِ الأَمْوَات". 10 فَسَأَلَهُ التَّلامِيذُ قَائِلِين: "إِذًا لِمَاذَا يَقُولُ الكَتَبَةُ إِنَّهُ لا بُدَّ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ إِيلِيَّا أَوَّلاً؟". 11 فَأَجَابَ وقَال: "أَجَلْ، إِنَّ إِيلِيَّا آتٍ، وَسَيُصْلِحُ كُلَّ شَيء. 12 وأَقُولُ لَكُم: إِنَّ إِيلِيَّا قَدْ أَتَى، ولَمْ يَعْرِفُوه، بَلْ فَعَلُوا بِهِ كُلَّ مَا شَاؤُوا. وكَذـلِكَ ابْنُ الإِنسَانِ مُزْمِعٌ أَنْ يَتَأَلَّمَ على أَيدِيهِم". 13 حينَئِذٍ فَهِمَ التَّلامِيذُ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُم عَنْ يُوحَنَّا الـمَعْمَدَان.

Lecture French	14 Que dire alors ? Y a-t-il de l’injustice en Dieu ? Pas du tout ! 15 En effet, il dit à Moïse : À qui je fais miséricorde, je ferai miséricorde ; pour qui j’ai de la tendresse, j’aurai de la tendresse. 16 Il ne s’agit donc pas du vouloir ni de l’effort humain, mais de Dieu qui fait miséricorde. 17 En effet, l’Écriture dit au Pharaon : Si je t’ai suscité, c’est pour montrer en toi ma puissance, et pour que mon nom soit proclamé sur toute la terre. 18 Ainsi donc, il fait miséricorde à qui il veut, et il endurcit qui il veut.
Evangile French	09 En descendant de la montagne, Jésus leur donna cet ordre : « Ne parlez de cette vision à personne, avant que le Fils de l’homme soit ressuscité d’entre les morts. » 10 Les disciples interrogèrent Jésus : « Pourquoi donc les scribes disent-ils que le prophète Élie doit venir d’abord ? » 11 Jésus leur répondit : « Élie va venir pour remettre toute chose à sa place. 12 Mais, je vous le déclare : Élie est déjà venu ; au lieu de le reconnaître, ils lui ont fait tout ce qu’ils ont voulu. Et de même, le Fils de l’homme va souffrir par eux. » 13 Alors les disciples comprirent qu’il leur parlait de Jean le Baptiste.

Of course not!l 15 For he says to Moses: “I will show mercy to whom I will, I will take pity on whom I will.”m 16 So it depends not upon a person’s will or exertion, but upon God, who shows mercy.n 17 For the scripture says to Pharaoh, “This is why I have raised you up, to show my power through you that my name may be proclaimed throughout the earth.”o 18 Consequently, he has mercy upon whom he wills,p and he hardens whom he wills.*
Evangile English	9 d As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, “Do not tell the vision* to anyone until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.” 10 * e Then the disciples asked him, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” 11 f He said in reply,* “Elijah will indeed come and restore all things; 12 g but I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him but did to him whatever they pleased. So also will the Son of Man suffer at their hands.” 13 * Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist.
