Lecture Arabic	1 أَمَّا الأَزْمِنَةُ والأَوقَات، أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَة، فلا حَاجَةَ بِكُم أَنْ يُكْتَبَ إِلَيْكُم في شَأْنِهَا؛ 2 لأَنَّكُم تَعْلَمُونَ جَيِّدًا أَنَّ يَوْمَ الرَّبِّ يأْتي كَالسَّارِقِ لَيْلاً. 3 فحِينَ يَقُولُون: سَلامٌ وأَمْنٌ! حِينَئِذٍ يَدْهَمُهُمُ الـهَلاكُ دَهْمَ الْمَخَاضِ لِلحُبْلى، ولا يُفْلِتُون. 4 أَمَّا أَنْتُم، أَيُّها الإِخْوَة، فَلَسْتُم في ظُلْمَةٍ لِيُفَاجِئَكُم ذـلِكَ اليَومُ كالسَّارِق. 5 فأَنْتُم كُلُّكُم أَبْنَاءُ النُّور، وأَبْنَاءُ النَّهَار؛ ولَسْنَا أَبْنَاءَ اللَّيلِ ولا أَبْنَاءَ الظُّلْمَة. 6 إِذًا فلا نَنَمْ كَسَائِر الـنَّاس، بَلْ لِنَسْهَرْ وَنَصْحُ؛ 7 لأَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَنَامُونَ فَفي اللَّيلِ يَنَامُون، والَّذِينَ يَسْكَرُونَ فَفي اللَّيلِ يَسْكَرُون. 8 أَمَّا نَحْنُ أَبْنَاءَ النَّهَار، فَلْنَصْحُ لابِسِينَ دِرْعَ الإِيْمَانِ والـمَحَبَّة، ووَاضِعِينَ خُوذَةَ رَجَاءِ الـخَلاص. 9 فإِنَّ اللهَ لَمْ يَجْعَلْنَا لِلغَضَب، بَلْ لإِحْرَازِ الـخَلاصِ بَرَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الـمَسِيح، 10 الَّذي مَاتَ مِنْ أَجْلِنَا، لِنَحْيَا مَعَهُ سَاهِرِينَ كُنَّا أَمْ نِائِمِين. 11 فَلِذـلِكَ شَجِّعُوا بَعضُكُم بَعْضًا، وَلْيَبْنِ الوَاحِدُ الآخَر، كَمَا أَنْتُم فَاعِلُون.
Evangile Arabic	19 كَانَ رَجُلٌ غَنِيٌّ يَلْبَسُ الأُرْجُوانَ وَالكَتَّانَ النَّاعِم، وَيَتَنَعَّمُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ بِأَفْخَرِ الوَلائِم. 20 وكانَ رَجُلٌ مِسْكِينٌ اسْمُهُ لَعَازَرُ مَطْرُوحًا عِنْدَ بَابِهِ، تَكْسُوهُ القُرُوح. 21 وكانَ يَشْتَهِي أَنْ يَشْبَعَ مِنَ الفُتَاتِ الـمُتَسَاقِطِ مِنْ مَائِدَةِ الغَنِيّ، غَيْرَ أَنَّ الكِلابَ كَانَتْ تَأْتِي فَتَلْحَسُ قُرُوحَهُ. 22 وَمَاتَ الـمِسْكينُ فَحَمَلَتْهُ الـمَلائِكَةُ إِلى حِضْنِ إِبْرَاهِيم. ثُمَّ مَاتَ الغَنِيُّ وَدُفِن. 23 وَرَفَعَ الغَنِيُّ عيْنَيْه، وَهُوَ في الـجَحِيمِ يُقَاسِي العَذَاب، فَرَأَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ مِنْ بَعِيد، وَلَعَازَرَ في حِضْنِهِ. 24 فَنَادَى وقَال: يا أَبَتِ إِبْرَاهِيم، إِرْحَمْنِي وَأَرْسِلْ لَعَازَرَ لِيَبُلَّ طَرَفَ إِصْبَعِهِ بِمَاءٍ وَيُبرِّدَ لِسَانِي، لأَنِّي مُتَوَجِّعٌ في هـذَا اللَّهِيب. 25 فَقالَ إِبْرَاهِيم: يا ابْنِي، تَذَكَّرْ أَنَّكَ نِلْتَ خَيْراتِكَ في حَيَاتِكَ، وَلَعَازَرُ نَالَ البَلايَا. والآنَ هُوَ يَتَعَزَّى هُنَا، وأَنْتَ تَتَوَجَّع. 26 وَمَعَ هـذَا كُلِّهِ، فَإِنَّ بَيْنَنا وَبَيْنَكُم هُوَّةً عَظِيمَةً ثَابِتَة، حَتَّى إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يَجْتَازُوا مِنْ هُنا إِلَيْكُم لا يَسْتَطْيعُون، ولا مِنْ هُناكَ أَنْ يَعْبُرُوا إِلَيْنا. 27 فَقَالَ الغَنِيّ: أَسْأَلُكَ إِذًا، يا أَبَتِ، أَنْ تُرْسِلَ لَعَازَرَ إِلَى بَيْتِ أَبي، 28 فإنَّ لي خَمْسَةَ إِخْوة، لِيَشْهَدَ لَهُم، كَي لا يَأْتُوا هُمْ أَيْضًا إِلى مَكَانِ العَذَابِ هـذَا. 29 فقَالَ إِبْرَاهِيم: عِنْدَهُم مُوسَى وَالأَنْبِياء، فَلْيَسْمَعُوا لَهُم. 30 فَقال: لا، يَا أَبَتِ إِبْرَاهِيم، ولـكِنْ إِذَا مَضَى إِلَيْهِم وَاحِدٌ مِنَ الأَمْوَاتِ يَتُوبُون. 31 فقالَ لَهُ إِبْرَاهِيم: إِنْ كانُوا لا يَسْمَعُونَ لِمُوسَى وَالأَنْبِيَاء، فَإِنَّهُم، وَلَو قَامَ وَاحِدٌ مِنَ الأَمْوَات، لَنْ يَقْتَنِعُوا!".

Lecture French	01 Pour ce qui est des temps et des moments de la venue du Seigneur, vous n’avez pas besoin, frères, que je vous en parle dans ma lettre. 02 Vous savez très bien que le jour du Seigneur vient comme un voleur dans la nuit. 03 Quand les gens diront : « Quelle paix ! Quelle tranquillité ! », c’est alors que, tout à coup, la catastrophe s’abattra sur eux, comme les douleurs sur la femme enceinte : ils ne pourront pas y échapper. 04 Mais vous, frères, comme vous n’êtes pas dans les ténèbres, ce jour ne vous surprendra pas comme un voleur. 05 En effet, vous êtes tous des fils de la lumière, des fils du jour ; nous n’appartenons pas à la nuit et aux ténèbres. 06 Alors, ne restons pas endormis comme les autres, mais soyons vigilants et restons sobres. 07 Les gens qui dorment, c’est la nuit qu’ils dorment ; ceux qui s’enivrent, c’est la nuit qu’ils sont ivres, 08 mais nous qui sommes du jour, restons sobres ; mettons la cuirasse de la foi et de l’amour et le casque de l’espérance du salut. 09 Car Dieu ne nous a pas destinés à subir la colère, mais à entrer en possession du salut par notre Seigneur Jésus Christ, 10 mort pour nous afin de nous faire vivre avec lui, que nous soyons en train de veiller ou de dormir. 11 Ainsi, réconfortez-vous mutuellement et édifiez-vous l’un l’autre, comme vous le faites déjà.
Evangile French	19 « Il y avait un homme riche, vêtu de pourpre et de lin fin, qui faisait chaque jour des festins somptueux. 20 Devant son portail gisait un pauvre nommé Lazare, qui était couvert d’ulcères. 21 Il aurait bien voulu se rassasier de ce qui tombait de la table du riche ; mais les chiens, eux, venaient lécher ses ulcères. 22 Or le pauvre mourut, et les anges l’emportèrent auprès d’Abraham. Le riche mourut aussi, et on l’enterra. 23 Au séjour des morts, il était en proie à la torture ; levant les yeux, il vit Abraham de loin et Lazare tout près de lui. 24 Alors il cria : “Père Abraham, prends pitié de moi et envoie Lazare tremper le bout de son doigt dans l’eau pour me rafraîchir la langue, car je souffre terriblement dans cette fournaise. 25 – Mon enfant, répondit Abraham, rappelle-toi : tu as reçu le bonheur pendant ta vie, et Lazare, le malheur pendant la sienne. Maintenant, lui, il trouve ici la consolation, et toi, la souffrance. 26 Et en plus de tout cela, un grand abîme a été établi entre vous et nous, pour que ceux qui voudraient passer vers vous ne le puissent pas, et que, de là-bas non plus, on ne traverse pas vers nous.” 27 Le riche répliqua : “Eh bien ! père, je te prie d’envoyer Lazare dans la maison de mon père. 28 En effet, j’ai cinq frères : qu’il leur porte son témoignage, de peur qu’eux aussi ne viennent dans ce lieu de torture !” 29 Abraham lui dit : “Ils ont Moïse et les Prophètes : qu’ils les écoutent ! 30 – Non, père Abraham, dit-il, mais si quelqu’un de chez les morts vient les trouver, ils se convertiront.” 31 Abraham répondit : “S’ils n’écoutent pas Moïse ni les Prophètes, quelqu’un pourra bien ressusciter d’entre les morts : ils ne seront pas convaincus.” »

Lecture English	1 Concerning times and seasons, brothers, you have no need for anything to be written to you.a 2 For you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief at night.b 3 When people are saying, “Peace and security,” then sudden disaster comes upon them, like labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4 But you, brothers, are not in darkness, for that day to overtake you like a thief.c 5 For all of you are children of the light* and children of the day. We are not of the night or of darkness. 6 Therefore, let us not sleep as the rest do, but let us stay alert and sober.d 7 Those who sleep go to sleep at night, and those who are drunk get drunk at night. 8 But since we are of the day, let us be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love and the helmet that is hope for salvation.e 9 For God did not destine us for wrath, but to gain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep we may live together with him.* 11 Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, as indeed you do.f
Evangile English	19 “There was a rich man* who dressed in purple garments and fine linen and dined sumptuously each day. 20 And lying at his door was a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores,i 21 who would gladly have eaten his fill of the scraps that fell from the rich man’s table. Dogs even used to come and lick his sores. 22 When the poor man died, he was carried away by angels to the bosom of Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and from the netherworld,* where he was in torment, he raised his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. 24 And he cried out, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me. Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering torment in these flames.’ 25 Abraham replied, ‘My child, remember that you received what was good during your lifetime while Lazarus likewise received what was bad; but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented.j 26 Moreover, between us and you a great chasm is established to prevent anyone from crossing who might wish to go from our side to yours or from your side to ours.’ 27 He said, ‘Then I beg you, father, send him to my father’s house, 28 for I have five brothers, so that he may warn them, lest they too come to this place of torment.’ 29 But Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the prophets. Let them listen to them.’ 30 * He said, ‘Oh no, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ 31 Then Abraham said, ‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.’”k
