Lecture Arabic	19 ونَحْنُ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّ كُلَّ مَا تَقُولُهُ الشَّرِيعَةُ تَقُولُهُ لِلَّذِينَ هُم في حُكْمِ الشَّرِيعَة، لِكَي يُسَدَّ كُلُّ فَمٍ، وَيَظْهَرَ العَالَمُ كُلُّهُ أَمَامَ اللهِ مُذْنِبًا. 20 لِذـلِكَ لَنْ يُبَرَّرَ أَحَدٌ أَمَامَ اللهِ بِأَعْمَالِ الشَّرِيعَة، لأَنَّهَا بِالشَّرِيعَةِ تُعْرَفُ الـخَطيئَة. 21 أَمَّا الآنَ فَقَدْ ظَهَرَ بِرُّ الله بِدُونِ الشَّرِيعَةِ، وَتَشْهَدُ لَهُ الشَّرِيعَةُ والأَنْبِيَاء؛ 22 ظَهَرَ بِرُّ اللهِ بِالإِيْمَانِ بِيَسُوعَ الـمَسيح، لِجَميعِ الـمُؤْمِنِين، دُونَ تَمْيِيز؛ 23 لأَنَّ الـجَمِيعَ قَدْ خَطِئُوا، ويَنْقُصُهُم مَجْدُ الله، 24 لـكِنَّهُم يُبَرَّرُونَ مَجَّانًا بِنِعْمَةِ الله، بِالفِدَاءِ الَّذي تَمَّ في الـمَسِيحِ يَسُوع؛ 25 وقَدْ جَعَلَهُ اللهُ كَفَّارَةً بِدَمِهِ بِوَاسِطَةِ الإِيْمَان، وَبِذـلِكَ أَظْهَرَ اللهُ بِرَّهُ، إِذْ تَغَاضَى عَنِ الـخَطَايَا السَّالِفَة، 26 واحْتَمَلَهَا، فَأَظْهَرَ بِرَّهُ أَيْضًا في الوَقْتِ الـحَاضِر، لِكَي يَكُونَ اللهُ بَارًّا وَمُبَرِّرًا لِمَنْ هُمْ عَلى الإِيْمَانِ بِيَسُوع. 27 إِذًا فَأَيْنَ الافْتِخَار؟ لَقَدْ أُلْغِيَ! وَبِأَيِّ شَرِيعَة؟ أَبِشَرِيعَةِ الأَعْمَال؟ كَلاَّ! بَلْ بِشَرِيعَةِ الإِيْمَان!
Evangile Arabic	38 حينَئِذٍ أَجَابَهُ بَعْضُ الكَتَبَةِ والفَرِّيِسِيِّينَ قَائِلين: "يَا مُعَلِّم، نُرِيدُ أَنْ نَرَى مِنْكَ آيَة". 39 فَأَجَابَ وقَالَ لَهُم: "جِيْلٌ شِرِّيرٌ فَاجِرٌ يَطْلُبُ آيَة، ولَنْ يُعْطَى آيَةً إِلاَّ آيَةَ يُونَانَ النَّبِيّ. 40 فكَمَا كَانَ يُونَانُ في بَطْنِ الـحُوتِ ثَلاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وثَلاثَ لَيَال، كَذـلِكَ سَيَكُونُ ابْنُ الإِنْسَانِ في قَلْبِ الأَرْضِ ثَلاثةَ أَيَّامٍ وثَلاثَ لَيَال. 41 رِجَالُ نِينَوَى سَيَقُومُونَ في الدَّيْنُونَةِ مَعَ هـذَا الـجِيلِ ويَدِينُونَهُ، لأَنَّهُم تَابُوا بِإِنْذَارِ يُونَان، وهَا هُنَا أَعْظَمُ مِنْ يُونَان! 42 مَلِكَةُ الـجَنُوبِ سَتَقُومُ في الدَّيْنُونَةِ مَعَ هـذَا الـجِيلِ وتَدِينُهُ، لأَنَّهَا جَاءَتْ مِنْ أَقَاصِي الأَرضِ لِتَسْمَعَ حِكْمَةَ سُلَيْمَان، وهَا هُنَا أَعْظَمُ مِنْ سُلَيْمَان! 43 إِنَّ الرُّوحَ النَّجِس، إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنَ الإِنْسَان، يَطُوفُ في أَمَاكِنَ لا مَاءَ فيهَا، يَطْلُبُ الرَّاحَةَ فلا يَجِدُهَا. 44 حينَئِذٍ يَقُول: سَأَعُودُ إِلى بَيْتِي الَّذي خَرَجْتُ مِنْهُ. ويَعُودُ فَيَجِدُهُ خَالِيًا، مَكْنُوسًا، مُزَيَّنًا. 45 حينَئِذٍ يَذْهَبُ ويَجْلُبُ مَعَهُ سَبْعَةَ أَرْوَاحٍ آخَرِينَ أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُ شَرًّا، ويَدْخُلُونَ ويَسْكُنُونَ في ذـلِكَ الإِنْسَان، فَتَكُونُ حَالَتُهُ الأَخِيْرَةُ أَسْوَأَ مِنْ حَالَتِهِ الأُولى. هـكَذَا سَيَكُونُ أَيْضًا لِهـذَا الـجِيلِ الشِّرِّير!".

Lecture French	19 Or nous le savons : tout ce que dit la Loi, elle le déclare pour ceux qui sont sujets de la Loi, afin que toute bouche soit fermée, et que le monde entier soit soumis au jugement de Dieu. 20 Ainsi, par la pratique de la Loi, personne ne deviendra juste devant Dieu. En effet, la Loi fait seulement connaître le péché. 21 Mais aujourd’hui, indépendamment de la Loi, Dieu a manifesté en quoi consiste sa justice : la Loi et les prophètes en sont témoins. 22 Et cette justice de Dieu, donnée par la foi en Jésus Christ, elle est offerte à tous ceux qui croient. En effet, il n’y a pas de différence : 23 tous les hommes ont péché, ils sont privés de la gloire de Dieu, 24 et lui, gratuitement, les fait devenir justes par sa grâce, en vertu de la rédemption accomplie dans le Christ Jésus. 25 Car le projet de Dieu était que le Christ soit instrument de pardon, en son sang, par le moyen de la foi. C’est ainsi que Dieu voulait manifester sa justice, lui qui, dans sa longanimité, avait fermé les yeux sur les péchés commis autrefois. 26 Il voulait manifester, au temps présent, en quoi consiste sa justice, montrer qu’il est juste et rend juste celui qui a foi en Jésus. 27 Alors, y a-t-il de quoi s'enorgueillir ? Absolument pas. Par quelle loi ? Par celle des œuvres que l’on pratique ? Pas du tout. Mais par la loi de la foi.
Evangile French	38 Quelques-uns des scribes et des pharisiens lui adressèrent la parole : « Maître, nous voudrions voir un signe venant de toi. » 39 Il leur répondit : « Cette génération mauvaise et adultère réclame un signe, mais, en fait de signe, il ne lui sera donné que le signe du prophète Jonas. 40 En effet, comme Jonas est resté dans le ventre du monstre marin trois jours et trois nuits, le Fils de l’homme restera de même au cœur de la terre trois jours et trois nuits. 41 Lors du Jugement, les habitants de Ninive se lèveront en même temps que cette génération, et ils la condamneront ; en effet, ils se sont convertis en réponse à la proclamation faite par Jonas, et il y a ici bien plus que Jonas. 42 Lors du Jugement, la reine de Saba se dressera en même temps que cette génération, et elle la condamnera ; en effet, elle est venue des extrémités de la terre pour écouter la sagesse de Salomon, et il y a ici bien plus que Salomon. 43 Quand l’esprit impur est sorti de l’homme, il parcourt des lieux arides en cherchant où se reposer, et il ne trouve pas. 44 Alors il se dit : “Je vais retourner dans ma maison, d’où je suis sorti.” En arrivant, il la trouve inoccupée, balayée et bien rangée. 45 Alors il s’en va, il prend avec lui sept autres esprits, encore plus mauvais que lui ; ils y entrent et s’y installent. Ainsi, l’état de cet homme-là est pire à la fin qu’au début. Voilà ce qui arrivera à cette génération mauvaise. »

Lecture English	19 Now we know that what the law* says is addressed to those under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world stand accountable to God,l 20 since no human being will be justified in his sight* by observing the law; for through the law comes consciousness of sin.m Justification apart from the Law.* 21 But now* the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, though testified to by the law and the prophets,n 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction;o 23 all have sinned and are deprived of the glory of God.p 24 They are justified freely by his grace through the redemption in Christ Jesus,q 25 whom God set forth as an expiation,* through faith, by his blood, to prove his righteousness because of the forgiveness of sins previously committed,r 26 through the forbearance of God—to prove his righteousness in the present time, that he might be righteous and justify the one who has faith in Jesus. 27 s What occasion is there then for boasting?* It is ruled out. On what principle, that of works? No, rather on the principle of faith.*
Evangile English	38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to him, “Teacher,* we wish to see a sign from you.”u 39 He said to them in reply, “An evil and unfaithful* generation seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it except the sign of Jonah the prophet. 40 Just as Jonah was in the belly of the whale three days and three nights,* so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. 41 * At the judgment, the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and there is something greater than Jonah here. 42 At the judgment the queen of the south will arise with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and there is something greater than Solomon here.v The Return of the Unclean Spirit.* 43 w “When an unclean spirit goes out of a person it roams through arid regions searching for rest but finds none. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to my home from which I came.’ But upon returning, it finds it empty, swept clean, and put in order. 45 Then it goes and brings back with itself seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they move in and dwell there; and the last condition of that person is worse than the first. Thus it will be with this evil generation.”
