Lecture Arabic	21 فَالـحَياةُ لي هِيَ الـمَسِيح، والـمَوْتُ رِبْحٌ لِي. 22 ولـكِنْ، إِذا كانَتِ الـحَيَاةُ في الـجَسَدِ تُهِيِّئُ لِي عَمَلاً مُثْمِرًا، فلا أَدْرِي مَاذَا أَخْتَار. 23 والأَمْرَانِ يتَجَاذَبَانِنِي: أَشْتَهِي أَنْ أَرْحَلَ وأَكُونَ مَعَ الـمَسِيح، وهـذَا أَفْضَلُ بِكَثِير. 24 لـكِنَّ بَقائِي في الـجَسَدِ أَشَدُّ ضَرُورَةً مِنْ أَجْلِكُم. 25 وبِهـذهِ الثِّقَةِ أَعْلَمُ أَنِّي سَأَبْقى وأُقِيمُ مَعَكُم جَمِيعًا، مِن أَجْلِ تَقَدُّمِكُم وفَرَحِكُم في الإِيْمَان، 26 لِكَي يَزدَادَ افْتِخَارُكُم بي في الـمَسِيحِ يَسُوع، عِنْدَ مَجِيئِي إِلَيْكُم مَرَّةً أُخْرَى. 27 فَسِيرُوا إِذًا سِيرَةً جَدِيرَةً بإِنْجِيلِ الـمَسِيح، حَتَّى إِذَا جِئْتُ ورَأَيْتُكُم، أَو كُنْتُ غائِبًا أَسْمَعُ عَنْكُم أَنَّكُم ثَابِتُونَ في رُوحٍ واحِد، مُنَاضِلِينَ معًا بِنَفْسٍ واحِدَةٍ في سَبيلِ الإِيْمَانِ بِالإِنْجِيل. 28 لا تَخَافُوا في شَيءٍ مِنَ الَّذِينَ يُقَاوِمُونَكُم: إِنَّ ذ,لِكَ دَلِيلٌ لَهُم عَلى هَلاكِهِم، ولَكُم على خَلاصِكُم. وذ,لِكَ هُوَ مِنَ الله. 29 فقَدْ وُهِبَ لَكُم مِن أَجْلِ الـمَسِيح، لا أَنْ تُؤْمِنُوا بِهِ فَحَسْب، بَلْ أَيْضًا أَنْ تَتَأَلَّمُوا مِنْ أَجْلِهِ، 30 مُجَاهِدِينَ الـجِهَادَ عَيْنَهُ الَّذي رأَيْتُمُوهُ فِيَّ، وتَسْمَعُونَ الآنَ أَنِّي لا أَزَالُ أُجاهِدُهُ.
Evangile Arabic	11 كَيْفَ لا تُدرِكُونَ أَنِّي لَمْ أَكُنْ أَعْنِي الـخُبْزَ بِمَا قُلْتُهُ لَكُم ؟ فَاحْذَرُوا خَمِيْرَ الفَرِّيسيِّينَ والصَّدُّوقِيِّين". 12 حينَئِذٍ فَهِمُوا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَقُلْ ذـلِكَ لِيُحَذِّرَهُم مِنْ خَمِيْرِ الـخُبْز، بَلْ مِنْ تَعْليمِ الفَرِّيسِيِّينَ والصَّدُّوقِيِّين. 13 وجَاءَ يَسُوعُ إِلى نَواحِي قَيْصَرِيَّةِ فِيْلِبُّسَ فَسَأَلَ تَلامِيْذَهُ قَائِلاً: "مَنْ يَقُولُ النَّاسُ إِنِّي أَنَا ابْنُ الإِنْسَان؟". 14 فقَالُوا: "بَعْضُهُم يَقُولُون: يُوحَنَّا الـمَعْمَدَان؛ وآخَرُون: إِيْليَّا؛ وغَيْرُهُم: إِرْمِيَا أَو أَحَدُ الأَنْبِيَاء". 15 قَالَ لَهُم: "وأَنْتُم مَنْ تَقُولُونَ إِنِّي أَنَا؟". 16 فَأَجَابَ سِمْعَانُ بُطْرُسُ وقَال: أَنْتَ هُوَ الـمَسِيحُ ابْنُ اللهِ الـحَيّ!". 17 فأَجَابَ يَسُوعُ وقَالَ لَهُ: "طُوبَى لَكَ يَا سِمْعَانُ بنَ يُونَا! لأَنَّهُ لا لَحْمَ ولا دَمَ أَظْهَرَ لَكَ ذـلِكَ، بَلْ أَبي الَّذي في السَّمَاوَات. 18 وأَنَا أَيْضًا أَقُولُ لَكَ: أَنْتَ هُوَ بُطْرُسُ، أَيِ الصَّخْرَة، وعلى هـذِهِ الصَّخْرَةِ سَأَبْنِي بِيْعَتِي، وأَبْوَابُ الـجَحِيْمِ لَنْ تَقْوى عَلَيْها. 19 سَأُعْطِيكَ مَفَاتيحَ مَلَكُوتِ السَّمَاوَات، فَكُلُّ مَا تَربُطُهُ على الأَرْضِ يَكُونُ مَرْبُوطًا في السَّمَاوَات، ومَا تَحُلُّهُ على الأَرْضِ يَكُونُ مَحْلُولاً في السَّمَاوَات". 20 حينَئِذٍ أَوْصَى تَلامِيْذَهُ أَلاَّ يَقُولُوا لأَحَدٍ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الـمَسِيح.

Lecture French	21 En effet, pour moi, vivre c’est le Christ, et mourir est un avantage. 22 Mais si, en vivant en ce monde, j’arrive à faire un travail utile, je ne sais plus comment choisir. 23 Je me sens pris entre les deux : je désire partir pour être avec le Christ, car c’est bien préférable ; 24 mais, à cause de vous, demeurer en ce monde est encore plus nécessaire. 25 De cela, je suis convaincu. Je sais donc que je resterai, et que je continuerai à être avec vous tous, pour votre progrès et votre joie dans la foi. 26 Ainsi, à travers ce qui m’arrive, vous aurez d’autant plus de fierté dans le Christ Jésus, du fait de mon retour parmi vous. 27 Quant à vous, ayez un comportement digne de l’Évangile du Christ. Ainsi, soit que je vienne vous voir, soit que je reste absent, j’entendrai dire de vous que vous tenez bon dans un seul esprit, que vous luttez ensemble, d’une seule âme, pour la foi en l’Évangile, 28 et que vous ne vous laissez pas intimider par les adversaires : ce sera pour eux la preuve de leur perte et pour vous celle du salut. Et tout cela vient de Dieu 29 qui, pour le Christ, vous a fait la grâce non seulement de croire en lui mais aussi de souffrir pour lui. 30 Ce combat que vous soutenez, vous m’avez vu le mener moi aussi, et vous entendez maintenant que je le mène encore.
Evangile French	11 Comment ne comprenez-vous pas que je ne parlais pas du pain ? Méfiez-vous donc du levain des pharisiens et des sadducéens. » 12 Alors ils comprirent qu’il ne leur avait pas dit de se méfier du levain pour le pain, mais de l’enseignement des pharisiens et des sadducéens. 13 Jésus, arrivé dans la région de Césarée-de-Philippe, demandait à ses disciples : « Au dire des gens, qui est le Fils de l’homme ? » 14 Ils répondirent : « Pour les uns, Jean le Baptiste ; pour d’autres, Élie ; pour d’autres encore, Jérémie ou l’un des prophètes. » 15 Jésus leur demanda : « Et vous, que dites-vous ? Pour vous, qui suis-je ? » 16 Alors Simon-Pierre prit la parole et dit : « Tu es le Christ, le Fils du Dieu vivant ! » 17 Prenant la parole à son tour, Jésus lui dit : « Heureux es-tu, Simon fils de Yonas : ce n’est pas la chair et le sang qui t’ont révélé cela, mais mon Père qui est aux cieux. 18 Et moi, je te le déclare : Tu es Pierre, et sur cette pierre je bâtirai mon Église ; et la puissance de la Mort ne l’emportera pas sur elle. 19 Je te donnerai les clés du royaume des Cieux : tout ce que tu auras lié sur la terre sera lié dans les cieux, et tout ce que tu auras délié sur la terre sera délié dans les cieux. » 20 Alors, il ordonna aux disciples de ne dire à personne que c’était lui le Christ.

Lecture English	21 For to me life is Christ, and death is gain.n 22 If I go on living in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. And I do not know which I shall choose.o 23 I am caught between the two. I long to depart this life and be with Christ, [for] that is far better.p 24 Yet that I remain [in] the flesh is more necessary for your benefit. 25 And this I know with confidence, that I shall remain and continue in the service of all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that your boasting in Christ Jesus may abound on account of me when I come to you again. Steadfastness in Faith.* 27 Only, conduct yourselves in a way worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear news of you, that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind struggling together for the faith of the gospel,q 28 not intimidated in any way by your opponents. This is proof to them of destruction, but of your salvation. And this is God’s doing. 29 For to you has been granted, for the sake of Christ, not only to believe in him but also to suffer for him.r 30 Yours is the same struggles as you saw in me and now hear about me.*

Peter’s Confession About Jesus.* 13 h When Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi* he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14 i They replied, “Some say John the Baptist,* others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 * j Simon Peter said in reply, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus said to him in reply, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood* has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. 18 k And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church,* and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. 19 l I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.* Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” 20 * m Then he strictly ordered his disciples to tell no one that he was the Messiah.
