Lecture Arabic	17 وفِيمَا كَانَ يَقْتَرِبُ أَوَانُ الوَعْدِ الَّذِي وَعَدَ اللهُ بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيم، نَمَا الشَّعْبُ في مِصْرَ وتَكَاثَر، 18 إِلى أَنْ قَامَ في مِصْرَ مَلِكٌ آخَرُ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَعْرِفُ يُوسُف، 19 فَغَدَرَ هـذَا الـمَلِكُ بِأُمَّتِنَا، وتَمَادَى في الإِسَاءَةِ إِلى آبَائِنَا، حَتَّى إِنَّهُ أَرْغَمَهُم عَلى رَمْيِ أَطْفَالِهِم، لِئَلاَّ يَبْقَوا أَحْيَاء. 20 فِي ذـلِكَ الوَقْتِ وُلِدَ مُوسَى، وكَانَ جَمِيلاً فِي عَينِ الله. وتَرَبَّى ثَلاثةَ أَشْهُرٍ فِي بَيْتِ أَبِيه، 21 ولَمَّا رَمَاهُ أَهْلُهُ، انْتَشَلَتْهُ ابْنَةُ فِرْعَون، ورَبَّتْهُ كَابْنٍ لَهَا. 22 وتَأَدَّبَ مُوسَى بِحِكْمَةِ الـمِصْرِيِّينَ كُلِّهَا، وكَانَ قَدِيرًا فِي أَقْوَالِهِ وأَفْعَالِهِ. 23 ولَمَّا تَمَّ لَهُ مِنَ العُمْرِ أَرْبَعُونَ سَنَة، خَطَرَ لَهُ أَنْ يَتَفَقَّدَ إِخْوَتَهُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيل. 24 ورَأَى وَاحِدًا مِنْهُم يَعْتَدِي عَلَيْهِ مِصْرِيّ، فَدَافَعَ عَنْهُ وقَتَلَ الـمِصْرِيَّ انْتِقَامًا لِذ,لِكَ الـمَظْلُوم. 25 وظَنَّ أَنَّ إِخْوَتَهُ سَيَفْهَمُونَ أَنَّ اللهَ يُؤْتِيهِمِ الـخَلاصَ عَلى يَدِهِ، لـكِنَّهُم لَمْ يَفْهَمُوا. 26 وفِي اليَومِ التَّالِي حَضَرَ بَينَ اثْنَينِ مِنْهُم يَتَقاتَلان، فَدَعَاهُمَا إِلى تَبَادُلِ السَّلامِ قَائِلاً: أَيُّهَا الرَّجُلان، أَنْتُمَا أَخَوَان، فَلِمَاذَا يَعْتَدِي أَحَدُكُمَا عَلى الآخَر؟ 27 فَدَفَعَهُ الـمُعْتَدِي عَلى رَفِيقِهِ قَائِلاً: مَنْ أَقَامَكَ عَلَيْنَا رئِيسًا وقَاضِيًا؟ 28 أَلَعَلَّكَ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَقْتُلَنِي كَمَا قَتَلْتَ أَمْسِ ذ,لِكَ الـمِصْرِيّ؟ 29 فَهَرَبَ مُوسَى عِنْدَ هـذَا الكَلام، وصَارَ غَريبًا فِي أَرْضِ مِدْيَن، وهُنَاكَ وَلَدَ ابْنَين.
Evangile Arabic	25 كَلَّمْتُكُم بِأَمْثَال، وتَأْتِي سَاعَةٌ لا أُكَلِّمُكُم فيهَا بِأَمْثَال، بَلْ أُخْبِرُكُم عَنِ الآبِ عَلانِيَة. 26 في ذـلِكَ اليَومِ تَطْلُبُونَ بِاسْمِي، ولا أَقُولُ لَكُم إِنِّي سَأَسْأَلُ الآبَ مِنْ أَجْلِكُم. 27 فَالآبُ نَفْسُهُ يُحِبُّكُم، لأَنَّكُم أَحْبَبْتُمُونِي، وآمَنْتُم أَنِّي خَرَجْتُ مِنْ لَدُنِ الله. 28 نَعَم، خَرَجْتُ مِنْ لَدُنِ الآبِ وأَتَيْتُ إِلى العَالَم، والآنَ أَتْرُكُ العَالَمَ وأَمْضِي إِلى الآب".

Lecture French	17 Comme approchait le temps où devait s’accomplir la promesse par laquelle Dieu s’était engagé envers Abraham, le peuple devint fécond et se multiplia en Égypte, 18 jusqu’à ce qu’un autre roi qui n’avait pas connu Joseph arrive au pouvoir en Égypte. 19 Ayant pris des dispositions perverses contre notre peuple, il maltraita nos pères, au point de leur faire abandonner leurs nouveaux-nés pour qu’ils ne puissent pas vivre. 20 C’est à ce moment que Moïse vint au monde ; il était beau sous le regard de Dieu. Il fut élevé pendant trois mois dans la maison de son père, 21 puis abandonné. La fille de Pharaon le recueillit et l’éleva comme son propre fils. 22 Moïse fut éduqué dans toute la sagesse des Égyptiens ; il était puissant par ses paroles et par ses actes. 23 Comme il avait atteint l’âge de quarante ans, la pensée lui vint d’aller visiter ses frères, les fils d’Israël. 24 Voyant que l’un d’entre eux était maltraité, il prit sa défense et frappa l’Égyptien pour venger celui qui était agressé. 25 Il pensait que ses frères comprendraient que Dieu leur donnait, par lui, le salut ; mais eux ne comprirent pas. 26 Le lendemain, il se fit voir à eux pendant qu’ils se battaient, et il essayait de rétablir la paix entre eux en leur disant : « Vous êtes frères : pourquoi vous faire du mal les uns aux autres ? » 27 Mais celui qui maltraitait son compagnon repoussa Moïse en disant : Qui t’a établi chef et juge sur nous ? 28 Veux-tu me tuer comme tu as tué hier l’Égyptien ? 29 À ces mots, Moïse s’enfuit, et il séjourna en immigré dans le pays de Madiane, où il engendra deux fils.
Evangile French	25 En disant cela, je vous ai parlé en images. L’heure vient où je vous parlerai sans images, et vous annoncerai ouvertement ce qui concerne le Père. 26 Ce jour-là, vous demanderez en mon nom ; or, je ne vous dis pas que moi, je prierai le Père pour vous, 27 car le Père lui-même vous aime, parce que vous m’avez aimé et vous avez cru que c’est de Dieu que je suis sorti. 28 Je suis sorti du Père, et je suis venu dans le monde ; maintenant, je quitte le monde, et je pars vers le Père. »

Lecture English	17 “When the time drew near for the fulfillment of the promise that God pledged to Abraham, the people had increased and become very numerous in Egypt,p 18 until another king who knew nothing of Joseph came to power [in Egypt].q 19 He dealt shrewdly with our people and oppressed [our] ancestors by forcing them to expose their infants, that they might not survive. 20 At this time Moses was born, and he was extremely beautiful. For three months he was nursed in his father’s house;r 21 but when he was exposed, Pharaoh’s daughter adopted him and brought him up as her own son.s 22 Moses was educated [in] all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in his words and deeds. 23 t “When he was forty years old, he decided to visit his kinsfolk, the Israelites. 24 When he saw one of them treated unjustly, he defended and avenged the oppressed man by striking down the Egyptian. 25 He assumed [his] kinsfolk would understand that God was offering them deliverance through him, but they did not understand. 26 u The next day he appeared to them as they were fighting and tried to reconcile them peacefully, saying, ‘Men, you are brothers. Why are you harming one another?’ 27 Then the one who was harming his neighbor pushed him aside, saying, ‘Who appointed you ruler and judge over us? 28 Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?’ 29 Moses fled when he heard this and settled as an alien in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.v
Evangile English	25 * n “I have told you this in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures but I will tell you clearly about the Father. 26 On that day you will ask in my name, and I do not tell you that I will ask the Father for you.o 27 For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have come to believe that I came from God. 28 I came from the Father and have come into the world. Now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”p
