Lecture Arabic	1 مِنْ أَيْنَ الـحُرُوب، ومِنْ أَيْنَ الـمُشَاجَراتُ بَيْنَكُم؟ أَلَيْسَ مِن لَذَّاتِكُم الْمُحَارِبَةِ في أَعضَائِكُم؟ 2 تَشْتَهُونَ ولا تَمتَلِكُون. تَقْتُلُونَ وتَحْسُدُونَ ولا يُمْكِنُكُمُ الـحُصُولُ على ما تُرِيدُون. تُشاجِرونَ وتُحَارِبُون. ولا تَنَالُونَ لأَنَّكُم لا تَسْأَلُون. 3 تَسْأَلونَ ولا تَنَالُونَ، لأَنَّكُم تُسِيئُونَ السُّؤال، لِكَي تُنْفِقُوا على لَذَّاتِكُم. 4 أَيُّهَا الزُّناة، أَلا تَعلَمُونَ أَنَّ صَدَاقَةَ العَالَمِ هِيَ عَداوَةٌ لله؟ فَمَنْ أَرادَ أَنْ يَكُونَ صَدِيقًا لِلعَالَم، جَعَلَ نَفسَهُ عَدُوًّا لله. 5 أَمْ إِنَّكُم تَظُنُّونَ أَنَّ الكِتَابَ يَقُولُ عَبَثًا: "إِنَّ اللهَ يُحِبُّ حَتَّى الغِيرَةِ الرُّوحَ السَّاكِنَ فينَا". 6 بَلْ إِنَّهُ يَهَبُ نِعمَةً أَعظَم، ولِذـلِكَ يَقُولُ الكِتَاب: "إِنَّ الله يُقاوِمُ الـمُتَكَبِّرين، ويَهَبُ النِّعْمَةَ للمُتَوَاضِعِين". 7 إِذًا فَاخْضَعُوا لله، وقاوِمُوا إِبلِيسَ فَيَهْرُبَ مِنْكُم. 8 إِقْتَرِبُوا مِنَ اللهِ فَيَقْتَرِبَ مِنْكُم. طَهِّرُوا أَيْدِيَكُم، أَيُّها الـخَطَأَة، ونَقُّوا قُلُوبَكُم يا ذَوِي النَّفْسَين. 9 إِحْزَنُوا على بُؤْسِكُم ونُوحُوا وابْكُوا، وَلْيَنْقَلِبْ ضِحْكُكُم نَوْحًا، وفَرَحُكُم حُزْنًا. 10 تَواضَعُوا أَمَامَ الرَّبِّ فيَرفَعَكُم.
Evangile Arabic	18 وَسَأَلَهُ أَحَدُ الرُّؤَسَاءِ قَائِلاً: "أَيُّها الـمُعَلِّمُ الصَّالِح، مَاذَا أَعْمَلُ لأَرِثَ الـحَيَاةَ الأَبَدِيَّة؟". 19 فَقالَ لَهُ يَسُوع: "لِمَاذا تَدْعُونِي صَالِحًا؟ لا أَحَدَ صَالِحٌ إِلاَّ وَاحِد، هُوَ الله! 20 أَنْتَ تَعْرِفُ الوَصَايا: لا تَزْنِ، لا تَقْتُلْ، لا تَسْرِقْ، لا تَشْهَدْ بِالزُّور، أَكْرِمْ أَبَاكَ وَأُمَّكَ!". 21 قالَ الرَّجُل: "هـذِهِ كُلُّهَا حَفِظْتُهَا مَنْذُ صِبَاي". 22 ولَمَّا سَمِعَ يَسُوعُ ذـلِكَ قَالَ لَهُ: "وَاحِدَةٌ تُعْوِزُكَ: بِعْ كُلَّ مَا لَكَ، وَوَزِّعْ عَلَى الفُقَرَاء، فَيَكُونَ لَكَ كَنْزٌ في السَّمَاوَات، وَتَعَالَ اتْبَعْنِي!". 23 فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ الرَّجُلُ ذـلِكَ، حَزِنَ حُزْنًا شَدِيدًا، لأَنَّهُ كانَ غَنِيًّا جِدًّا.

Lecture French	01 D’où viennent les guerres, d’où viennent les conflits entre vous ? N’est-ce pas justement de tous ces désirs qui mènent leur combat en vous-mêmes ? 02 Vous êtes pleins de convoitises et vous n’obtenez rien, alors vous tuez ; vous êtes jaloux et vous n’arrivez pas à vos fins, alors vous entrez en conflit et vous faites la guerre. Vous n’obtenez rien parce que vous ne demandez pas ; 03 vous demandez, mais vous ne recevez rien ; en effet, vos demandes sont mauvaises, puisque c’est pour tout dépenser en plaisirs. 04 Adultères que vous êtes ! Ne savez-vous pas que l’amour pour le monde rend ennemi de Dieu ? Donc celui qui veut être ami du monde se pose en ennemi de Dieu. 05 Ou bien pensez-vous que l’Écriture parle pour rien quand elle dit : Dieu veille jalousement sur l’Esprit qu’il a fait habiter en nous ? 06 Dieu ne nous donne-t-il pas une grâce plus grande encore ? C’est ce que dit l’Écriture : Dieu s’oppose aux orgueilleux, aux humbles il accorde sa grâce. 07 Soumettez-vous donc à Dieu, et résistez au diable : il s’enfuira loin de vous. 08 Approchez-vous de Dieu, et lui s’approchera de vous. Pécheurs, enlevez la souillure de vos mains ; esprits doubles, purifiez vos cœurs. 09 Reconnaissez votre misère, prenez le deuil et pleurez ; que votre rire se change en deuil et votre joie en accablement. 10 Abaissez-vous devant le Seigneur, et il vous élèvera.
Evangile French	18 Un notable lui demanda : « Bon maître, que dois-je faire pour avoir la vie éternelle en héritage ? » 19 Jésus lui dit : « Pourquoi dire que je suis bon ? Personne n’est bon, sinon Dieu seul. 20 Tu connais les commandements : Ne commets pas d’adultère, ne commets pas de meurtre, ne commets pas de vol, ne porte pas de faux témoignage, honore ton père et ta mère. » 21 L’homme répondit : « Tout cela, je l’ai observé depuis ma jeunesse. » 22 À ces mots Jésus lui dit : « Une seule chose te fait encore défaut : vends tout ce que tu as, distribue-le aux pauvres et tu auras un trésor dans les cieux. Puis viens, suis-moi. » 23 Mais entendant ces paroles, l’homme devint profondément triste, car il était très riche.

Lecture English	1 Where do the wars and where do the conflicts among you come from? Is it not from your passions* that make war within your members?a 2 You covet but do not possess. You kill and envy but you cannot obtain; you fight and wage war. You do not possess because you do not ask. 3 You ask but do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. 4 Adulterers!* Do you not know that to be a lover of the world means enmity with God? Therefore, whoever wants to be a lover of the world makes himself an enemy of God.b 5 Or do you suppose that the scripture speaks without meaning when it says, “The spirit that he has made to dwell in us tends toward jealousy”?* 6 But he bestows a greater grace; therefore, it says:c “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”* 7 So submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.d 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you of two minds.e 9 Begin to lament, to mourn, to weep. Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into dejection. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you.f
Evangile English	18 i An official asked him this question, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”j 19 Jesus answered him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone. 20 You know the commandments, ‘You shall not commit adultery; you shall not kill; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; honor your father and your mother.’”k 21 And he replied, “All of these I have observed from my youth.” 22 * l When Jesus heard this he said to him, “There is still one thing left for you: sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have a treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 23 But when he heard this he became quite sad, for he was very rich.
